    #12A Persian Koubideh Beef
    Joshua O.

I ordered Persian koubideh beef. It's two skewers of ground sirloin beef served with rice, Shirazi salad, pita bread, grilled tomatoes, and peppers. I got one pepper and one tomato so the description isn't too accurate. The Shirazi salad was more sour than I expected. The koubideh beef was pretty savory. Music played through the speakers. We were greeted as we entered the restaurant. I learned that it's the 50 year anniversary because of the cup showing the logo. It's pretty bright inside. It's pretty clean. It took 10 min to get our order. The employee had a giant tray and placed each plate carefully on the table. One employee cleaned the table next to ours because the couple finished their food before us.

Competition is tough in this area where there's great Armenian restaurants on nearly every block along Glendale Avenue and within a two-mile radius. However, if you're looking for a fast-food version of Raffi's Place, then Massis is your place. It's a clean, quick service restaurant that rises a bit above a Chipotle imo. Portions are hearty + shareworthy. You can order in, or eat outside on the patio and take in some car-watching as some drivers race down Glendale Ave. like a drag strip. I particularly enjoyed the Gyro Plate. It's a recipe that apparently dates back to 1976, when they first opened. Made with thinly sliced Beef & Lamb Gyro Meat, it's served with rice, Shirazi salad (cucumber, tomatoes, herbs), tzatziki sauce, pita bread triangles, and a grilled pepper + tomato. The buttery Persian basmati rice--which I look forward to when dining at a Persian place--is rich and flavorful. Also, the gyro meat is well-seasoned and perfectly tender, without the gaminess that lamb can bring to a dish. I'm not usually big on lamb, but this recipe's got deliciousness nailed. And it's a quick fix for a Raffi's Place craving when you're not feeling like spending Darya (Santa Monica) prices.

We had the Soultani combos and they were really good! The food was delicious, the ambiance was great, and the location was convenient. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Highly recommend!

Massis Kabob is a crisp, modern appearing kebab restaurant located in the heart of Glendale offering a variety of Mediterranean dishes in an express style setting. I came on a Sunday evening to find a place packed without a single empty table. I ordered the Koubideh combo ($14.95): the beef was tender and slightly spiced, the chicken was similarly tender, delicate, and flavorful. It was not the juiciest I've ever had, although this is very common in Koubideh. The rice, however, was spectacular. Moist, fluffy, delicate and ready to pick up all the juices and other flavors. Despite how busy the place was, it was fairly fast, about 10 minutes from order to food arrival. The interior is crisp and well designed with open fire and kitchen on full display. The interior is impeccably clean and modern. Value, I thought, was very reasonable. For $15 you get two skewers of meat, a huge bed of rice, side cucumber salad, and bread, an excellent value. I was a little off-put by the middling reviews for this restaurant, which seemed to contradict the modern appearance of the restaurant and hordes of customers inside and out. Perhaps the reviews are older and reflect earlier stages of this restaurant's 50 year history? Regardless, Massis is an excellent Kabobery worthy of its history. With modern vibes, a crisp interior, and great value, Massis is worth a visit anytime you're in the area. Food: 4.5/5 Ambiance: 4.5/5 Service: 4/5 Value: 4.5/5

Walking in, I'm instantly drawn to the fiery grill. They offer lamb, beef, chicken, veggies, and even fish. Highly recommend the combo kabob : big portions, and the fish is seriously huge. Even though it's fast-casual, everything is still flame-grilled to perfection, served with salad and pita. Super casual, filling, and satisfying. IG: socalhkfoodies

Massis Kabob Glendale Galleria is one of my favorite kabob spots. This place has been run for a very long time, and it's always busy and consistently doing well. I've probably been here over 100 times so far -- that's how long I've been coming here--and the food is always delicious. My go-to order is the #13 Beef Shish Kabob, which is my absolute favorite. My family also really loves their chicken kabob. The salads are always fresh and tasty, and the kabobs are grilled just right--not overly burnt (though once in a while they can be a bit charred), but overall cooked perfectly and full of flavor.

We were in the area and craving some Mediterranean food, and I've heard really good things about this place. It's located on the corner of a busy intersection and parking isn't the best, and a lot of people think it's okay to park in spots where it's not a designated place to park. Walking into this place, the ambiance is bright and welcoming and I liked the whole setup of everything. There are a good amount of places to sit and enjoy your food. The customer service was pretty good, there was just one thing that I found to be a little uncalled for. So I have a nut allergy, each new restaurant I try I always ask if the food has nuts to be extra cautious. The worker basically didn't care, or that's how I perceived it. Once we got the food, you get a good amount of food for the price point and tasted pretty good. I'd stop by here if I were in the area again.

    Gyros #1 to go
    Dana H.

I was staying at a local motel in Glendale and stopped at Massis Kabob. It had a open kitchen and the entire restaurant looked spotless. I ordered a Gyros #1 to go which included a gyros, pita chips, and hummus. The kitchen staff was busy putting out meals. It took about 10 minutes which was surprisingly fast given the number of customers and orders in the early evening. The gyros was huge compared to other gyros I've gotten at other restaurants. Pita chips were fresh and the hummus was fantastic. This is my new go-to kabovery the next time I'm in town.

Armenian beer. Oh how I miss the flavor. It's very unique taste from the highlands

Not what it used to be. Had the soltani plate and the mats were near bland and overcooked. Not my first time here. The bread was stale. It looked busy and it's a nice place. But the food is subpar. I'm sure they can do better. The rice was ok. Few years back and the original place used to have juicier koobideh and barg.

Even though I like ordering from here I always see flies gross, EVERYTIME. I wish they'd do something about it

    #11 Chicken Kabob Boneless
    Rickey K.

I am beyond impressed. Not only is this place busy and serving food back to back, the food here is actually good. The rice is light and hot, the side greens are firm and tasty, the chicken is cooked charred perfect and juicy. The jalapeño too is excellent. Just very satisfied and feeling very content. Great spot!

This location for Massis Kabob is located in Glendale on Colorado Blvd. We favor this location due to it being an actual stand alone restaurant and not inside of a mall. But, no matter what location you visit, you will always find that it is very crowded because of the delicious food! We also like this location because we can place our order ahead and have it ready for when we arrive. The parking lot is a little small, but its never been an issue for us to park due to people always coming and going. The also offer curbside and will send you the instructions to your mobile device on when you arrive! The staff is always friendly and fast! They make sure your order is correct before giving it to you! On the side, they have a delicious green salsa available and we recommend trying it out, it will not disappoint. We ordered they #11 Chicken Kabob Boneless plate that comes with 2 sides, pita bread, grilled tomato, and grilled peppers. This is by far my favorite plate! The chicken is always super juicy and cooked to perfection! My only downside is that I wish there were better side options to choose from! The rice is delicious so I always opt in getting double rice! The grilled tomato is packed with flavor and literally melts in your mouth! My Girlfriend ordered the #12A/B Koubideh Combo which is one skewer of ground sirloin and one skewer of ground chicken served with 2 sides, pita bread, grilled tomato and grilled peppers. She really enjoys being able to have the best of both chicken and sirloin and both have incredible taste! She would also agree that better side options would bring this restaurant up to 5 stars! The Hummus is considered as a side but you do have to pay $1 extra, so we normally just order a regular hummus which is big enough to share and also take some home! The portions are pretty large, we usually ask for a separate to-go box and box up some of the meal to save for lunch the next day! Even reheated, it tastes fresh! Overall if you are looking for a pretty great Mediterranean restaurant, go check out one of Massis Kabob locations! Most of their other locations are in malls and we find that it is super hard to find clean seating in some of the areas!

Very disappointing experience. My order was placed and completed a day prior, yet I was still forced to wait an unreasonable amount of time to pick it up. The line to order was backed up like an In-N-Out drive-thru, even though my order was already supposed to be ready. We were made to wait in line on Glendale Blvd, blocking traffic, which made absolutely no sense. What made it worse is that we were not allowed to enter the parking area, even though it was completely empty, to wait safely for the already late order to be prepared. I understand that the holiday season is busy, but this level of disorganization and unprofessional handling is unacceptable. This experience alone makes me seriously reconsider ordering from this place again. Do better.

Ordered two of the standard dinner and two of the vegan dinner and it was a lots of food--we ended up taking about 4 boxes to go at the end of the meal, definitely come hungry if you decide to do the set menu. My personal favorite was the falafel and the baba ghanoush, especially with the pomegranate seeds which provided a nice brightness. I appreciated the variety of flavors across the different appetizers and plates. Had the choice of coffee, hot mint tea, or hot black tea to close out the meal which helped with digestion. The space is lavishly decorated and it was busy throughout, while likely also was the cause for slower service. Street parking wasn't too hard to find as it was still early for dinner time on Sunday.

We ordered two of the carousel plates with four different meats: beef, veal, filet, and chicken. The beef and chicken kebabs were super flavorful. It paired deliciously with their rice, roasted veggies, and cabbage salad. I also love their crispy thin pita chips. I was not a fan of the veal liver as it was too gamey for me. Overall the food was really good and the portion sizes were great. Drinks: 3/5 The drinks here were not that good. They were a dollar or two higher than your regular bar. However, the taste was mediocre. Their hibiscus Paloma was very bland and a little watered down. Service: 5/5 We came here on a Friday night at 7pm, we had a reservation and got seated pretty quickly despite it being quite busy. Our server checked up on our table often and our food came out pretty fast. They also gave out some bread, cheese, veggies, and olives while we waited for our food. Ambiance: 5/5 This place is lively and feels a little upscale. They have an outdoor seating area as well. Overall, I would come back here for the food, but maybe not the drinks.

TLDR: Hear me out, if you have any doubt about chicken being less superior to beef or other meat. TRY the chicken thigh here. It makes justice for chickens (I still need to try their beef or lamb tho) I was running errands in Glendale today and I was starving and looking for lunch spots around. Turns out Mini Kabob was 3 mins walk away, it was a no brainer, my feet just took me there. Didn't expect to go there, so didn't order ahead but I'm fine with waiting. After last time's magnificent chicken thigh, I was determined to try their other entrees. However, Armen said the chicken thigh is the best seller out of their entrees- well, time for a round 2 I guess? This time I'm eating the entree at the spot and I just gotta say- IT SLAPS!! I'm genuinely not a big fan of chicken, because when you can choose beef why chicken? But this chicken is so juicy, so tender, so heavenly. Yummy!! The garlic sauce is great but the hummus and the fresh lavash, h o l y - f. Last time it was already so good even as a leftover, and eating it right at the spot is just transcending. I also tried their Armenian pear soda, it's delicious and refreshing with the heat right now in summer. I left with my tummy happy and their service is always great, they get busy but still no attitude, no bs, gives the right recommendations.
