First time here! The dress code seemed pretty casual. We were probably some of the most dressed up people there. The drinks were nice and I really liked their cocktails. Food was great overall. My only suggestion would be the fried pelmeni, which were served dry. Coming from the culture, I would've expected them with sour cream or even tkemali on the side. They tasted good but dry on their own. Otherwise, service was great, the ambiance was nice, and everything was priced pretty well. If you're getting one of the more expensive steaks, I'd say the overall price point is pretty comparable to Hillstone restaurants. Found this place accidentally and stopped by for a quick lunch on our way to an appointment and all I kept saying was " I can't wait to come back and try more of their food" !! one of the nicest, most aesthetic places I've ever been in this area - it literally feels like you're in Europe! There was a lot of twists to traditional Middle Eastern food, like the borek we always eat was literally grilled on skewers. I've been eating borek my whole life, and I never had it this way!! I know it sounds crazy, but I would come back here again for the borek alone! Tried Monna for the first time with a few friends and had such a great experience overall. The food, service, and ambiance were all wonderful. We sat outside on their cute patio area, which made for a really nice dinner setting. We started with a couple of sides, the roasted potatoes and mushrooms, which were delicious and full of flavor. For mains, we shared the ribeye, salmon, and two different types of dumplings. I really appreciated how the menu reflects a variety of Armenian influences, from Persian Armenian to Russian Armenian to Lebanese Armenian, while also offering American favorites. My favorite item of the night was easily the boiled dumplings that came with yogurt on the side. They were so flavorful and the portion of 10 pieces was perfect for sharing. We also ended dinner with the honey cake, matcha latte, and cappuccino, all of which were delicious. I loved the thoughtful decor and Armenian touches throughout the restaurant, especially the rugs displayed on the walls. Came here for a birthday and had the Branzino, the beef tartare and the tomato salad We also had the prosecco and enjoyed the honey cake and mikado cake with mint tea for desert. Everything was delicious but this place is veryyyyyyy expensive for what it is and the location. For soecial occasions I would come back but this wouldnt fit in my budget for a nignt out. For example the honey cake is $17 for one slice while the sheet pan of the same cake from the Armenian market is $20. The beef tartare was $28 for 4 tablespoons max. The Caesar salad was exceptional, and the branzino was perfectly cooked, tender, and delicious. The décor is unique and stunning, creating a warm and inviting ambiance. Service, however, was inconsistent. We waited about 30-40 minutes before a server initially came to our table, yet toward the end, multiple servers stopped by asking the same questions, which became a bit frustrating. First time here. I came in with a friend on a Sunday around 1 pm and we were seated right away at a small table in the side room. The hostess mentioned they host a "DJ Breakfast" every other Sunday, which we didn't know beforehand. There was a live DJ playing, but the music was extremely loud and very club-style -- not quite what I'd expect from a family restaurant atmosphere. It made it difficult to have a conversation and felt a bit out of place for brunch. Our server offered flat or sparkling water (we chose flat) and took our order: two vanilla cloud hot coffees, the egg and tomato omelette, and the syrniki. The coffees arrived first but were already lukewarm. The timing of service was also off -- my syrniki came out first, then the water, and then my friend's omelette. It would've been nice for everything to arrive closer together. Unfortunately, no one checked back in on us, and we had to wait to try to get more water. Overall, the experience felt a bit disorganized. I'm willing to give this place another try because the concept is cute and the DJ brunch may just not have been for us -- but some adjustments to service flow and volume would definitely improve the experience. read more

Easy free parking in their own lot or on the street. This neighborhood is walkable and cute, so sit by the window or outdoor for a nice atmosphere. It's good for small groups, special occasions, or dates. I think it's a bit too pricey for families where young children won't appreciate the quality and cost. I'm giving this a ok rating because of three things I experienced, which might just have been me and doesn't represent other's experience: 1. I ordered the hummus and pita bread appetizer that only came with 4 bite sized pieces of bread. It might have added up to less than half a pita bread. For the price and the amount of hummus it came with, I thought that was a rip off. Just imagine you come here with a party of 4. That would mean each person gets one bite of pita bread and hummus. Ridiculous for anyone who doesn't eat like dwarf hamster. 2. Some food dishes came out fast. Others slow. No consideration for timing of dishes. For a nice restaurant like Monna, I just expected them to have that awareness. I was also surprised the drinks I ordered and water came out after the appetizer despite ordering the drinks first. Must have been a slip on their part. It didn't help that I was especially thirsty. 3. When the server came to my table, he was excellent. Friendly, patient, and professional. But the issue was how infrequently he came around. And they were not busy when I dined here. In fact, I was one of the few customers in the entire restaurant and I had to often wave the server down whenever I wanted to order something or get the check. It makes me wonder how they do on busy nights. I still recommend Monna. They have beautiful interior design and it's in a great part of town. I just had higher expectations. read more

I'm so happy that Monna opened in our neighborhood. The food is a 10/10, and the atmosphere, music, and decor are all on point. The staff is warm and accommodating. I loved it so much that I went twice back-to-back. Once for dinner and again for Mother's Day brunch. The dinner and brunch menus are different, but both were excellent. Some of my favorite dishes were the blinchik, tomato cucumber burrata salad, pilmeni, and the eggplant dish. Honestly, everything we ordered was delicious. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The kids' menu was also a hit. The kids really enjoyed the pancakes, orange juice, and fries. I've been to Mona three times. My first two visits were excellent, and everything we ordered was delicious, which is why I was excited to come back. This time we came for breakfast. The Imeretian khachapuri was good, and I really enjoyed the passion fruit cocktail. The coffee was also excellent. The pumpkin soup was okay, but it seemed a bit too heavy--maybe because of the amount of oil or the spices. It left an unpleasant aftertaste for me. We also ordered the tarragon salad, but unfortunately it barely had any tarragon, and the dressing was very acidic, almost as if it had too much vinegar or lemon juice, so it wasn't something we could really enjoy. What surprised me the most is that just a few days earlier I had ordered almost the same dishes, and everything tasted amazing. This visit felt very different, so I hope it was just an off day in the kitchen because I've had such great experiences here before. What really makes Mona stand out, though, is the service. It's honestly one of the best I've experienced in the U.S. Everyone is welcoming, attentive, and genuinely makes you feel taken care of. The atmosphere is beautiful, everything is spotless, and you can tell that every little detail has been thoughtfully considered. They even provide small chairs for your handbag at the table--a thoughtful touch that you rarely see, even in many upscale restaurants. We found easy parking and came in and got seated right away. Great manager, server, and bartender. All very attentive to our needs.
