She brings a rare combination of clinical expertise, intuition, and warmth that made each session not only productive but truly enjoyable--for both our child and us as parents. Jessica has a gift for teaching through fun. She used creative play, games, and imagination to keep our child engaged in every session, all while targeting meaningful progress. She celebrated every milestone, no matter how small, helping to build confidence and excitement along the way. She was highly observant and adjusted exercises in real time based on how our child was doing physically and emotionally that day. It was clear she always had our child's full picture in mind--advocating not just for physical progress but overall well-being. As parents, we also felt incredibly supported. Jessica explained everything clearly, without ever talking down to us, and gave helpful tips for reinforcing progress at home. She created a welcoming, encouraging space that our child genuinely looked forward to visiting. While Jessica was out, Andrea stepped in to continue our care--and did a fantastic job. The entire staff and our pediatrician, Dr. Bennie have gone above and beyond for us numerous times. Everyone at Harpeth have been exceptional with his care. In one case, they gave a shot and didn't even record it on my son's form. We had to remind them the next time we came in when it was missing. Also, terribly inconvenient to get records to the school as they will not fax directly. Had to call several times and leave messages. Such a hassle.

The biggest problem is that at the end of the treatment, we did not gain the width we were told we'd achieve despite excellent compliance. When I asked questions, nothing was addressed or adequately solved. The solution was to tell me that I just needed to start "phase two" and pay for an entire other treatment plan, obviously for thousands more. Please beware of money grabs and get second opinions; beware of any dental practice running a spa.

We were given a 3-4 week away appointment. (No empathy shown from staff. ) This inevitably caused a lot of tears and hopelessness due to the state of our baby and the powerlessness we felt in the situation. Thank God we were advised by a lactation consultant to go to Dr. Baxter in Birmingham! (Sounds like a crazy drive but it isn't and is worth it plus June coffee company is there.) He has emergency appointments RESERVED for parents like us and prioritizes us due to the gravity of the situation. Also... Dr. Baxter just so happens to have written the book on best practices, TongueTied. He also prays over the patient/fam before laser surgery. Truly beautiful PLEASE go where your child will be valued and receive top level of care!

A couple are about OHPA as a business providing service, but the others are about care. I'm a booster because good outcomes for our children are so important. medicine works because it measures and tests. Because it obsesses over data. It ain't esthetics or what feels right. I love them because they take best practices seriously. That means I can have them do the hard work of surveying the complex, multi-disciplinary world of medical knowledge and trust what they say it means. Please, it's your kid, understand how much better that is than Google and YouTube.

We had a rocky start to the pregnancy with a miscarriage scare that required pelvic rest and the Haven team was wonderful throughout that time. The prenatal visits were encouraging, empowering and educational and I was always given plenty of space to voice my concerns and ask questions. When labor began (a full week "late"), baby came very quickly and we were so thankful that our birth team did too. We loved having our son at home (instead of in our vehicle, like we did with our second )! How amazing to feel safe and empowered to give birth the way we wanted to, in our own space! The birth team was attentive to postpartum care as well and helped us get started as a family of five. This was my first birth, and it was the best healthcare experience I've ever had. At first, my…read morehusband was a little hesitant (let's be honest so was I) but we both quickly realized the professionalism and great competence of the nurse midwives after seeing them react perfectly when I passed out during a blood drawing at one of my first appointments. After I gave birth, my husband told me he was brought to tears by witnessing the power of women coming around each other during labor. My first appointment was virtual, and Alys answered every single question and concern I had about their safety protocols and their statistics on transfer rates with confidence. I asked all of the hard questions and was impressed by their protocols. Around six weeks, I thought I was having a miscarriage and Emily answered my frantic call to the birth center. She was the most compassionate and calming person and walked me through that. She got me an appointment the very next day to ensure everything was okay with the baby. I failed my first gestational diabetes test, and had to do the second test that had four blood drawings. I got to lay in one of the king-size beds in one of the birthing suites. I got to take a nap in the bed And I felt like I was in a hotel room. During my actual labor and delivery, It was way harder than I thought it would be. But having the fortune of laboring in a space, that was so comforting and personalized it made a big difference. I would not have made it without my personal Doula or the nitrous oxide(!!) they provided at the Birth Center. My daughter had the cord wrapped around her neck, and Melan acted swiftly to somersault her so that she wasn't hurt. I had a second-degree tear and Melan stitched me perfectly. After birth, my daughter needed some extra monitoring at Vanderbilt, and Jenissa personally walked us into the hospital and got a situated in our room with the nurse at the Vanderbilt Hospital. Never once did I feel shame for my weight, for any questions that I had, or feeling like I was imposing. At every step of the way, I was empowered, encouraged and taken care of with the utmost care. I relied on the nurse midwives to help me come up with a birth plan, and take care of myself and my baby with evidence-based statistics. I am so grateful for every single interaction I had at the Vanderbilt Birth Center and I wish Every woman had the opportunity to experience a tender, loving, professional care I received here. I had my first baby through Baby and Co when the transition to the Vanderbilt Birthing Center was…read morefirst happening and have now been at the Vanderbilt Birthing Center for my second pregnancy as well. I am so torn since I love the idea of the birth center and having a nautral birth. However, the process there feels so systematic now and I feel like I was treated like a statistic than a person. Also, there are midwives on call, but you have to go through a call center to get to a midwife and I have never been able to get anyone on the phone. They always need to call back hours or days later. It is frustrating to not be able to talk to an actual person who can talk and having to give your personal information over and over again. Overall, I do not feel like they provided the help needed at crucial times for me. I would recommend going elsewhere for more hands on care and for someone more in tune with your needs. Pros: I love how supportive they were when I needed to have my blood drawn. They have aromatherapy and encouraging nurses. The birthing rooms feel like home and have a lot of nice things to use to help aid giving birth. There classes are also very informative. Cons: Gave misinformation numerous times and didn't bother reading my file on my first pregnancy when I came in pregnant again. My first pregnancy was a bit traumatic (leading to a hospital transfer and forceps) and I feel like they could have handled the matter more delicately. They also have much stricter rules about COVID than most doctor's offices. (Need to wait outside until someone comes to your car and takes your temp.. No one allowed in for appointments with you, etc) They have a very high transfer rate to the hospital and it is a little scary needing to get in a car and have your husband drive you to the hospital mid delivery.
