They just opened for lunch so it's nice and quiet. We were greeted warmly, seated right away. It's been a while so it was time for an updated review. Our waiter was attentive and great on checking on our order. The minestrone soup was fine. It wasn't too hot and the veggies were tender without being overcooked. The baked ziti was nice, not too hot as well. The sauce had a good amount of cheese....hence its name I'd order this again. Decided to take my girls out for another fancy lunch meal before I head out again for my business trip for the week. Always love the food and customer service here at Olive Gardens. Today, the parking was a bit packed and it was SNOWING AGAIN! That makes for traversing the lit a bit challenging. However, plenty of parking spots all over the place; you can even park over at the mall parking lot too if needed. Our server for today was Brent, who was always ensuring we were served with topping off water, drinks and even occasionally asking if we needed more salads or more soup. read more

Olive Garden has totally lost a step or two. (management please read the book broken windows.) This was an anniversary dinner for us, and I was deeply disappointed in the service that we received. First we went at 8 o'clock at night. There was no one in the parking lot. There was about six guys sitting at one table and one couple that got up and left. However, we had to wait 15 minutes to get seated then it took us another 10 minutes to get a server to stop by (we just about got up and left) Then they server shows up heavily tattooed with the ring piercing in her nose and sloppy dressed She only come to check on us one time when she didn't say a word she just filled my lemonade by reaching directly across in front of my face, and all I could see was her arm. This was in mid conversation with my wife. We waited another 15 minutes after we were done eating to ask for to go boxes . We were in the store for a total of two hours. It should've been 45 minutes maximum. Again, they were not busy. There were plenty of staff. The gal working in the front desk kept running to the back room to see who was available to seat anybody she acted like she had no clue what she was doing. The bar had a few people in there as in three or four. Again, this is a Tuesday night very slow service very lacking and quality. The food was prepared as expected and tasted very good. 5/5 five for food However, It would be nice to have some breadsticks to take home. The service was 1/5. We were polite and no confrontation with the server. The salad Salad, It would've been nice to be asked what we did not want on our salad. My husband and I did delivery because I am sick. Both our salads were inedible. All of the vegetables were wilted, brown, and/or transparent, like they were premade and refrigerated for days. My soup had raw kale in it. I'm sad because it was the only thing that sounded good. read more

To start off with; the server didn't know what alcoholic drinks they had when asked, and had to check I believe 2-3 seperate times. Upon ordering it took 25-30 minutes for the bar to get a beer. Whilst waiting for the food our utensils were dirty and had spots on them, we were able to pretty easily clean them off with the napkins. read more

I know Friday nights are busy, but you seriously need to hire more staff. The staff we saw working kept messing up at multiple tables-and this is because they were so stressed out about trying to cover more than what is capable of them or should be expected of them. The thinner you stretch them, the more that starts to slip through the cracks. I had checked in online and we still had to wait over 15 minutes past what the website/app told me. We were led to a table, and I did like our waitress, but she looked and made everything feel so rushed. Because the waitresses were spread so thin, multiple mistakes were made at every table, and the one next to mine had been there a long time. After waiting 10 minutes for boxes, they got up and left the food. I'm not sure if they even paid, I wasn't paying attention close enough to see if they paid with the kiosk. Their plates were almost full. I overheard them say how tired they were of waiting. The waitress had brought them breadsticks in a bag, but since they were gone, that waitress offered it to the table next to them and they had just sat down. During the 40 minute wait for our entrees, I watched the hostess Haley help set up a table for 12. I got a bit mortified when she put the rolled up napkins on a chair, then after the table was ready to be set, she picked them up off of the chair and set them on the table in front of chairs. I was so grossed out. I watched a lot of tables getting cleared in my time waiting, and they don't wipe of the chairs, only tables. You don't put something the touches a mouth on chair that people sit on. That's disturbing. She easily could have set it on the table while she was setting up, or waited until after she was done moving the tables to do it. Our food was good, but the wait time was extremely excessive. While greeting us, we were given breadsticks, and I was happy because they were hot and I hadn't eaten all day. However, we didn't get drinks for 10 minutes after that that. She just apologized because she was so busy. The appetizer took about 20 minutes after that, and the entrees another 40. I wasn't even hungry anymore by the time I got my entree. Mine had seafood, and seafood doesn't heat up well. I'm going to eat it anyways tomorrow because it was so expensive. Our waiter offered to box up our plates, but only did one and then rushed off somewhere else. Like I said, she was really nice, but she was way too busy to be doing her job properly. We never got a check, so I paid at the kiosk. The kiosk times out really fast, so I never got my receipt and had to ask for one. My son was really looking forward to the mints, but we never got them. I've never been more excited to leave an Olive Garden. I don't know if I'll be back to this location in Layton. I've had way better service at the other ones we frequent. Also, I think it's ridiculous that you have more to go order parking spots than handicap parking spots. It like you're inviting people to stay away. read more

We arrived before it got busy. There was no wait but the hostess managed to seat two parties who arrived after us. I didn't want to be THAT person, but had to speak up because they were about seat a third party. Our server was a huge disappointment. They kept forgetting different components of our order and each time we reminded them, their attitude got worst. We waited around for 30-40 minutes to have two items removed from our check so we could pay. We got a free dessert, but that no way makes up for poor service. My family and I like to dine out so we can be SERVED and we ALWAYS tip accordingly, and well. If we wanted to serve ourselves, we would've dined at home. All that to say, in the end, the food did not sit well with my stomach and I couldn't keep it down. Will not be returning for sure. We'll continue driving to SLC for our dining needs. read more

We called at 8 am to get a reservation for 8 on Saturday. We were told that we can't make a reservation. So when we show up we were told we won't be able to have all 8 people sat at the same table. And per their brilliant policy they can't push the tables together. Mismanaged and not a very customer friendly experience. Families like to get together on the weekends and your policy forces people to sit apart. Not a very smart move. read more

Terrible experience. Walked in around 2:45pm on a Thursday. Was dining alone and was told I could sit at the bar if I didn't want to wait. What a joke that was. Say at the bar for 20 minutes watching the waitress serve everyone but me. After 20 minutes of being ignored I stood up and walked out. They were good to seat our large group on the Saturday before Mother's Day which was very busy. The large table accommodated four kids and a baby plus six adults. Marie was an excellent server who kept our drinks, soup and salad refilled. We ordered Alfredo sauce with our breadsticks, strawberry daiquiris for the kids, raspberry lemonade, sodas, the tour of Italy, ravioli, pizza, chicken strips, salmon, shrimp carbonara, pasta fagioli soup, chicken parmigiana, and steak Alfredo (which was the only item that wasn't good). We had take out dinner two nights ago, I ordered Chicken fettuccine, Stuffed Shells with meat sauce, Spinach-Artichoke Dip, and a couple of extra bread sticks, it also included 2 salads. There was enough food to feed 4 people, everything was good, I think it was missing sauce, I would have liked at least double the amount of sauce. Customer service was the best part of this experience! The two ladies we had Chris and I cannot remember the ither ladys name but they were phenomenal in the Layton location. We had a large party and everything was hot and yummy. I had not eaten at Olive garden in a long time because I have had some poor meals but this time was good. The mushroom sauce was delish. Good value with the never ending pasta bowl. They handled our large party well, never had to ask for more drinks they kept them coming! I know this is a chain restaurant, but I really do love Olive Garden! And the service at this location is exceptional. So 5 stars it is. Some locations aren't so great, but I always have a great experience at this one. Also, my most recent experience here was the best I've had. Our waiter was probably the best waiter I've had anywhere, and it made the night all the better! My favorite time to go to Olive Garden is when they have the Buy One Take One deal! That's the best way to get a bang for your buck. That way you get unlimited breadsticks and soup/salad, and 2 huge entrees! I'm a big fan of leftovers, so that deal always wins me over. Now, the food. I know Olive Garden is sort of a stereotypical place, but to me, the food is awesome. I don't really ever get tired of it. I've tried a lot of things--tour of Italy, chicken parmesana, chicken marsala, fetuccinni alfredo, five cheese ziti, and more. Seriously, I've loved them all. My latest go-to is the five cheese ziti and my favorite soup is the Zuppa Toscana. They also have really good desserts! Can't really go wrong there. If you go on your birthday, they let you pick any of them for free! Olive Garden is the place I go if I want a lot of food for a decent price. It's not necessarily authentic Italian, but I love it nonetheless! Also they let you pick out any of their desserts for free if it's your birthday so that's a bonus :) read more

Love the endless salads. Typically very fresh with tomato, onion, purple cabbage, and iceberg lettuce. I just wish the dressing were less vinegary. If the vinegar dressing is updated to a simple vinegar w olive oil on the side as a default, I would be much happier. The pastas are fun to eat and the $5 take home pastas were a good deal when you don't want to cook. I have enjoyed the grilled salmon at Olive Garden...you can get a nice casual meal w the family here. read more

Our food came out quickly. Love the salad and bread sticks here. Very healthy mix of lettuce, tomatoes, olives, purple cabbage and green peppers. The shrimp and chicken carbonara was decadent. The chicken was super tender. Our server Elva was attentive and always smiling. She kept our drinks filled and the plates coming when we were ready for the next course. Love coming in for the lunch specials. You pick your lunch entree and you pick whether you want unlimited salad or unlimited soup ( i Usually pick the chicken gnocchi soup) with it. The bread sticks were so delicious and probably the best out of all the other times I have came. They were super soft and buttery! Not to mention our food was okay. The reason why I give it three stars is because of the service we received. It was really slow mainly because of the server we had. Claire never checked up on us and took an upsetting long time to get us items that were forgotten like our extra sauce and beer that was flat. We had to ask another server to get us another beer that was not flat and that took them about 10 minutes to figure out who was getting us the beer. Plus we were waiting on our sauce to start eating and she took so long by the time she got our sauce we were almost done. read more

Came in 8-26-17 about 6:30 & it was busy. Told us that we could wait for a booth abt 35 minutes or a table in 15. We went with waiting for a table. Then we are there 10 minutes and a couple walks in and asks if they can just wit in the bar area and the hostess tells him there is no wait go ahead. They walk over to a huge booth and sit down? WTH if they would have offered that to us we would have taken it. Sooo we finally get a table and they walk us and a couple back to the tables and they give this couple a huge table and gave us the 2nd to smallest table they have. Again WTH why sit 5 people at a small table and a 2 people at at a larger table. Food was good and hot got 2 buy one take one home & 2 kids spaghetti meals. I got cheese raviolis wich I just love and my husband got a chicken Alfredo. Kids love the menus with the crayons and the stickers to keep them occupied while the food is prepared. They love the hide and seek part most. They always compare to see who found more. The server was great and came back few times to check on us. Bathrooms were clean and taken care of. My problem was the hostess and giving out tables when people are sitting and waiting. 2nd problem was not sitting people at tables that best suited the size of the party. Need to retrain in that area. Use some common sense. Ya we will be back. read more

Admittedly, Olive Garden isn't a favorite and tonight's visit re-emphasized the sentiment. The salad was a bit soggy, and not as fresh as I'd hope. There seemed to be more onions, carrots and peppers than lettuce. I guess some people like that. Some of the lettuce was slimy and I needed to pick it out. The breadsticks were warm and soft but the butter was overly salty which overpowered any good in the breadsticks. Not sure if it was just tonight's application or if my sensitivity to salt has increased over the last couple years. The service was a bit slow to get our orders taken, but once the orders were taken, our cups were filled. The best part of the experience was the server who was friendly, even though it took a couple reminders to get the soup I ordered and boxes to take home left overs. read more

Wow. Where do I start. First off the hosts and hostesses were so sweet, and understanding when half our party got lost on the way there. Which I know is very difficult to manage, but they handled everything so beautifully. Second, our server Kris was the absolute most amazing server I have ever had. She was the friendliest woman. She totally went above and beyond. She was so quick with our orders, and to checking on us, and making sure we had everything. She answered all our questions, and gave us some recommendations that were totally worth it! She also grabbed us to go containers for our drinks, which I have never been given before at an Olive Garden. She deserved every penny of our tip and way more that I definitely would have given had I had it. read more

Olive garden is definitely Americanized Italian food but that doesn't mean that it's not good. Real Italian food is way too salty and has way too many peas anyways. In terms of olive gardens this one is consistently clean, has good employees, timely food and is good. Holidays are a good time to take advantage of the $10 free card with a $50 gift card. read more
