I can honestly say I've never had a better customer service experience anywhere than the one I've had today and I'm old AF. Words do not describe how much I would recommend this bike shop and I this is the fifth one I've been to and Tampa and none of them are bad, but none of them are Oliver's. I highly recommend and endorse this bike shop. I live in South Tampa and gladly drive 20 miles. My son got his first legit bicycle today and it's an amazing bike and we paid a third of what I was expecting today.

My new toy! Can't wait to ride it.

Perfectly located across from Flatwoods Park, this is a choice location for a bike shop. They offer sales, rentals, and services. I have been to multiple bike shops in Tampa, but I just love this place. The owner is great and they do fantastic services. I have bought 4 bikes from them and they stand behind their product. They will also let you sell your bike at their shop when you are ready to upgrade. Strongly recommend Olivers. Trek is a reasonably priced bike of great quality. I know I will continue to go back.

Everything I want a bike shop to be. First, open on Sundays, which is so convenient. Second, able…read moreto hear about what had gone wrong, and then able to diagnose correctly what was needed. Third - able to fix it right then! I also loved that they had a lot of bicycle merchandise, including riding clothing and hats. After having a rear flat tire on my bicycle, and having a local shop unable to fix the problem, I brought my bike here. The worker put it up on rack, showed me how the new tape I just paid for at the other shop was put on incorrectly, AND showed me that my tire had see through patches on it, and clearly needed to be replaced. My tape, tire and tube were replaced, the cost was reasonable, and I was in and out of the shop in under half an hour. This is my new bike repair shop.

I was extremely disappointed with my experience. I brought my e-bike in to have a tube replaced and…read moresupplied the replacement tube myself, which I had already purchased on Amazon. The bike was in the shop for less than an hour, yet I was charged $80 just for the labor. That price feels excessive for such a straightforward repair. I believe local businesses should charge fair, transparent rates, and this experience left me feeling taken advantage of. I prefer supporting local shops, but it's hard to justify coming back after this. The owner should take a closer look at their pricing because this kind of experience drives loyal customers away.

Early in June I purchased three bikes and accessories from UBC at almost $3500. One of the bikes…read morehad a flat rear tire every time my wife would go to ride it. I'd fill it up and usually by the next morning the rim was on the ground again. The bike may have had 2-3 miles on it so i took it to UBC 30 minutes away and asked them to have a look. They checked it and told me there were no leaks and then went on to explain to me how bikes lose air pressure. I have been working on bikes as an owner & rider for 45 years, I know the dynamics of air in a bike tire. I told them they didn't look hard enough and after some back and forth with Alec they took it back and replaced the tube. When the old guy from service came out he was ranting about having to replace a good tube for no reason, Alec gave me the bike and I left. Before I even got the bike home and off the carrier it was flat again. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and inflated it again but by morning it was flat. I know it was a new tube because the valve stem was threaded where the original was rubber. Rather than go back and suffer through another argument and down talking like I was a yuppie idiot who doesn't know which end of a screw driver to use, I ordered a new tube. Today I pulled the tube they put in, verified the leak, then actually took 20 seconds to inspect the inside of the rim to find out why it keeps punching holes in tubes and found a huge burr in the rim that penetrated the protective liner and was cutting the tubes. Had UBC taken 20 seconds of their own to look into the problem rather than being convinced the customer didn't know what they were talking about they would have found the problem and been able to fix it correctly. I don't care how long they have been in business but sometimes they should listen to what their customer is saying to them, there are a lot of idiots out there, I'm not one of them. I wanted to find and work with an independent bike dealer but there aren't as many any more. Unfortunately this isn't the one. I'm happy with our bikes but I'll find somewhere else for future needs.

What is customer service to you? In the world of Internet shopping, today I was reminded why local…read morebusinesses at their core are still about customer service. My LBS (local bike shop) David's World Cycle - Carrollwood, has gone above and beyond, resulting in a supporting patron, a happy customer, and someone that will gladly return for future business. So what happened? My wife got a new bike via a promotional program at work, not our LBS. The crew at DWC took us in, despite repetitive return visits they were always patient with us regarding any issue with the bike. Today I got a call from the store manager to find that they had contacted Trek Bikes directly and got my wife a brand new bike. There are more details to go into but in short, they went above and beyond what we expected of them, took initiative, and remembered that taking care of the customer is always good business. I shamefully don't remember everyone's name but THANK YOU! Erik, Matt, Andrew, and crew. Thank you making my wife happy and reminding me that interpersonal relationships make customers for life!

I brought my Trek FX+ 1S to Trek Carrollwood with less than 90 miles on it and under three months…read moreof ownership. The reasons for my visit were a noticeable "thunk" noise from the motor, a spongy feeling in the front brake, and routine service. After inspecting the bike, the technician contacted me and told me the rear brake system had suffered a "catastrophic failure" and that the entire brake system needed to be replaced. I was told this would include new brake levers, hydraulic lines, calipers, and rotors, and that if they serviced the front brake it would likely have the same outcome. I was also told the motor thunk was considered "normal," despite the fact that I own another Trek FX+ 1S that does not make this noise. I was informed that the bike was not safe to ride because of the condition of the brakes. This was surprising because the bike had fewer than 90 miles on it, and the rear brake had been functioning normally when I brought it in. Before authorizing hundreds of dollars' worth of parts, I decided to take the bike home. I purchased a hydraulic brake bleed kit from Amazon and performed a brake bleed myself. The entire process took about five minutes, and the brakes immediately felt normal again. No replacement of levers, calipers, lines, or rotors was necessary. What concerns me most is that when I asked where the alleged catastrophic failure actually was, the technician couldn't identify the specific failed component or explain what had failed. Recommending replacement of an entire hydraulic braking system without being able to identify the failure point did not inspire confidence. Additionally, the technician did not reply back to my text messages when I followed up with questions. I'm disappointed because I expected accurate diagnostics from a Trek dealer, especially on a nearly new bike. Instead, I left feeling that expensive parts replacement was being recommended without sufficient evidence, while my original concern about the motor noise was dismissed as "normal." Based on this experience, I have lost confidence in the service department at this location and will be seeking service elsewhere in the future.
