Raising the prices way too much! It used to be cheaper, other stores are much more affordable

The staff at this Windsor store is abysmal. I asked two different staff members for location of items and not only did they not help me but they were rude and dismissive. One would think an employee-owned store would be more motivated to deliver a higher standard of customer service but, apparently what they tout versus what they deliver are two distinctly different qualities. Came to Olivers tavern on the green Friday evening in search of Pliny the younger. For those that don't know Oliver's is a grocery store that has a tap room inside of it. Pretty much the best idea I've seen cause in Wisconsin we don't have bars in grocery stores.Pliny the younger happens to be an exclusive beer released by the Russian river brewing company that people wait in line hours to sample. Didn't end up tasting one seeing as this beer sells out in typically an hour or less. But I was able to enjoy some food and other tasty beers during this experience. Fish fry was outstanding. Garlic fries were awesome. Everything was very reasonable priced. Super cool spot. Will return in the future. read more

The store is spacious, well organized, has good lighting. Bravo for the new building. The cafe has delectable snacks, pastries, beer & coffee. All employees I talked with are cheerful, well informed & helpful. I don't think that there is more variety of inventory compared to the smaller Oliver's market where I shop in Rincon valley Santa Rosa, but the wider aisles here certainly make browsing a bunch more pleasant. OMG! Windsor Oliver's fruit basket cake is to die for. This is the first time I have ordered their fruit basket cake, and it is seriously the most delicious cake I've ever tasted. The toasted almonds are a nice touch, the fruit is fresh and ripe, and the freshly whipped whipped cream is so divine! I will definitely order this cake again for any dinner party for sure! Fabulous Market! The market goods are fresh, local and well displayed. The Tavern is clean, offers good beer and coffees, and all sorts of fresh pastries. The hot food deli is always a pleasant surprise and the polenta and spinach is the best! The take out deli carries delicious tacos, burritos and so much more. The best for last: the bakery. Not only does the bakery carry a wild assortment, but I'd vouch for almost every item, from the chocolate lava cake to the lemon bars. Can't go wrong here! read more

So I really never give a review with a one star rating but the service at this location earned it. We stopped to grab a quick sandwich at lunch between wine tastings. We bought 3 sandwiches, a salad, chips and water. We were in a hurry and didn't count the number of items we had but the boy checking us out sure did! We jumped in the 12 items or less line and Brandon (kid checking us out) scanned our purchase and loudly and rudely said "THIRTEEN, FOURTEEN AND FIFTEEN!" Wow. Really? I was in Windsor visiting family a few weeks ago, and we stopped by Oliver's to pick up a few things and decided to grab a bite to eat in the tavern. Look, the market is very nice and a health nut's dream, but the TAVERN.........! If anyone knows me, they know how much I cannot stand poor management. The servers were very nice and gave me a PERFECT mimosa, but I seriously watched a manager SCREAM at one of her colleagues!! Pardon my French but what the heck! For what, I cannot say, because I do not know what the heck they did! It absolutely ruined my experience at Oliver's. My family and I refuse to ever go there again, knowing that's how those people act . In front of customers no less. Completely unprofessional. The food was way overpriced as well. read more

i have bought steaks there twice for two special meals. Both times, the steaks were cut to about 1/4" thick. They were tasty but very thin and overpriced for what I paid for. Next time I will go to a butcher's shop where they know how to cut the portions. read more

This place is awesome! I'm visiting from out of town and thought I'd stop by to check out what they have, and if I could find anything unusual or unique to take home with me. This market has a co-op kind of vibe, while still carrying conventional items like potato chips you'd find at Safeway, for example. I grabbed some little instant packets of chaga and reishi mushroom instant tea mixes, some instant vegan gravy (hey, I haven't seen this brand before!), Nutiva brand hazelnut cocoa spread (vegan Nutella!), and also grabbed the huge bottle of Harmless Harvest coconut water because it was on sale! $1 off! They had some awesome looking vegan alfredo sauce but at almost $8 for a jar, I couldn't justify getting it. I'll have to make some at home. I walked the entire store. The selection is extensive and unique. There is a lovely little bakery and deli section, as well as a coffee and juice bar, and it looks like there is even a pub style seating area for beer. Very cool! I wanted to stay longer because it was such a cool store, but I had to leave at some point, so I made my way to the check stand. One check stand open, I was not greeted by Gerald C. This guy looks like he hates his job! Never greeted me, never talked to me, never made eye contact with me. Put my receipt in the bag. Literally never made eye contact. Maybe he was having a rough day but it looked like the worst day of his life. This store is awesome, but I'll be sad if I return and find out that their service is bad, too! I can honestly say that I had never set foot in Oliver's prior to its opening in Windsor. With that said, I was pleasantly surprised as I figured it would be another Whole Foods rip off. I was wrong on that note, while both are similar in their basic concept, Oliver's offers a better experience and slightly better pricing. Oliver's also brings in more of a local support versus the large Amazon backed grocery store that is more focused selling you a "Echo" with your bitter melon. The staff is phenomenal here as well, I was literally lost in their cheese department, but the employee manning the station went above and beyond explaining each cheese and which would fit my liking, so two thumbs up for that one. As for the store itself, easy to navigate, good deals, yes slightly higher pricing than other local chain stores, but you get what you pay for here. Another perk is their tavern, which is great if seating is available, I always end up grabbing a to go since this place is a zoo on most days especially during lunch time. On a final note, if I needed to pinpoint a con to Oliver's is the parking lot. While yes it is large enough, it is a madhouse and most of the time you are parking quite far away with a lengthy walk to the store. With all that said, it is still my go to store near my work to indulge in shopping and lunchtime f"ly by's". read more

What a great local grocery store! We were getting ready for a day of wine tasting and wanting to pick up a few items to bring with us for lunch. The deli section is huge with plenty of sandwiches already made as well as salads. If you didn't see a sandwich you liked the helpful employees behind the counter would make you what you wanted. There's lots of local beer (Pliny the Elder, anyone?) as well as so many other local products. We bought some hot sauce, coffee and cheese. Next time I'm in this area and need a picnic lunch, this will be my stop again. read more

New market square type of dining-- pick your lunch/dinner from the many choices of soups, salads, entrees, desserts and sit at a picnic table. Not great ambience, but some really exceptional choices. When you add the tab, it will be a lot less than eating in a restaurant and you will have had some really good food. The concept is sweeping the country, making it difficult for restaurants. The alternative, of course, is taking the food home, and enjoying it in the ambiance of your home. read more

I love Oliver's Market and I wish they would put one in Marin county. Oliver's closely resembles WF or Sprouts but is way better than both of those stores. Oliver's is employee owned and you can tell that the staff actually puts energy into their job. I walked in to grab lunch and immediately went to their hot food and sushi bar. So many amazing choices! I was dying for sushi and there were so many options that making a decision was difficult. I grabbed a few different options and went to check out the hot bar. At the hot bar I saw that they had tapioca as a dessert item! Right there Oliver's had me as a customer for life! I LOVE tapioca and I have never seen it at a restaurant or hot bar. It was awesome tapioca too. No shame in my game! I actually ended up going back for dinner in the same day- spicy miso chicken for the win! The staff was great and when they saw the lines were getting long they offered to check us out at the customer service office. Woo-hoo! That's being proactive unlike other big chain grocery stores that would have fifteen people in line with two checkout lanes open. Everything at Oliver's looked great, if I had one near me I would do all of my grocery shopping there. I may have to find reasons to go to SOCO just so that I can make a stop at Oliver's. read more

I am not one to give 5 stars too often but this place takes the cake. Came to Windsor for vacation and stopped by at night for some sweet cravings and then ended up coming back. From groceries to make own plate food bar, I mean they have everything. The Tavern bar here is good too. They have a happy hour M-F 4-6pm. Super clean place. This store is newer, larger, and better organized than the Montecito store in Santa Rosa. Lots of delectable selections in the prepared food area including a sushi station, soup bar, coffee shop, and a bunch of other possibilities. Oliver's produce is very nice, and they have a great selection of tasty cheeses. Along with the high quality comes high costs. I don't regularly shop at Oliver's because it is pretty pricey, but if there is something out of the ordinary that I need, I can probably find it at Oliver's. read more

Great place to shop. The Tap room is Awesome you can grab food go to the tap room and drink a lot of local beer! I the people are really friendly there. My family absolutely raved about the quality & rub. So mad props to Jesse for making my day!!! This hands down the most incredible grocery store I have ever stepped inside. They have everything--an awesome grocery store, a taqueria, a poke bar, good fish/meats, and even a tavern! They normally have random veggie/fruit sales which are comparable in price to local farmers markets. They have regular sales on meats as well. The store is employee owned and it shows. This was our go to grocery store for 4 days when we stayed in Healdsburg for wine tasting! I looooove this store, it reminds me of Whole Foods, New Seasons, or a Trader Joe's back home. We did not want to eat out every meal, this is why we always rent an Airbnb.... we love to cook and stay in at night. With all the day drinking and eating out, this store had the supplies we needed to cook in the evening. We loved the fresh selection and friendly folks that work here too.... I like their cafe. We had fish and chips and it was delicious.The fish were fresh because it came out of the fish section. I don't always shop there but if I need something right away, I will stop by. The cheese department is the best. We always get wonderful service there. This is a large local grocery store. Generally a better option than the large chain stores. It is laid out well with all the specialty departments you can expect from a large grocery store. One minor issue is they draw from local youths for staff. I suppose that is good but their attention can wonder and do not always give the good customer service you usually get from the more seasoned employees. read more

I love Oliver's market with the exception of the tap room. What a shame it forces me to score it low. There were 5 people working in the tap room friday night and the service was absolutely horrible. I will never go in there again. Rude and they ignore you. Wasn't just me, a gentleman sat next to me and they walked past him several times, no eye contact, nothing. He finally waved her down and she responded as if he was bothering her. Management really needs to review those employees, especially the gal with all the tats and tight ponytails on top of her head, she was the worst.she ignored paying customers at the cash register too. read more
