Salmon phyllo special with Tzatziki Dips

So delicious and fresh! Big fans of Greek and have had it at countless restaurants--Olives is a place that does it well while many others attempt bland and underwhelming Americanized versions. Great to go on a day where you can sit outside, very bustling atmosphere. Appreciate the unique less-seen options like cod fish gyro, really flavorful and perfect textured. Would be great for quick lunch takeout as well.

We sat outside on a beautiful sunny day and had a delicious meal! I was surprised by how much I loved the skordalia dip and my husband was also pleasantly surprised by the fish and (Greek style) chips. It was a late lunch, so there weren't many other guests, but the service was quick. Very happy with our meal. It's cash only but there is an atm inside

Solid spot for some Greek food, plentiful portions and reasonable prices. I went with a group on a weeknight and we had quick and friendly service. The place has a bit of a hip vibe with specials written in chalk on the wall. It was fairly crowded and felt great to have a post-Covid real dining experience. The food ranged a bit. My wife and I absolutely loved the moussaka! It was baked perfectly with meat and long strips of eggplant on the inside and a cheesy top. You could really taste the cinnamon spice too! Fantastic dish. The veggie appetizer platter was pretty good. It had tasty, thick hummus and a bunch of pita. It had grape leaf rolls which were good but a bit on the bland side (no meat, just rice). And it had fried eggplant which we enjoyed although it was very oily (a bit overwhelming). We also were excited to try the beet salad which was on special but were a bit let down. The salad was fine but there were not very many beets (see pic). We expected a salad mainly of beets but it was more like a mixed salad with beets as one topping.

Staff was very friendly. We went on a Friday night, did not have reservations and they were able to get us in ASAP after a short uncomfortable argument between staff members. I would definitely recommend making reservations if You are going here. This place is very small. Server was efficient and friendly on a busy Friday. Food was ok. My moussaka was burnt/over cooked on one end making it hard and crusty. Flavor was pretty good, I wasn't expecting it to be on the sweeter end. Very cinnamon potent. Fries were typical. Nothing special, but pretty good overall.

My family and I came in for lunch at Olives, and it was lovely! I really love the interior as it feels very homey. My mom and I both got the Olives Gyro which is gyro meat, feta cheese, tzatziki, tomatoes, and onions. The gyro's delicious and so flavorful! The veggies are tzatziki was super fresh and yummy. I also got a side of their Greek fries which have olive oil, oregano, lemon, and feta. I would not order them again as they were a bit underwhelming for the price. Finally, for dessert, we had the Coconut bread pudding, which was my favorite part of the whole meal. It was so tasty. I would love to come back again and try some new things.

Went out to dinner with my family! Food was pretty good, its hard to find authentic Greek tastes as a Greek individual but this was pretty close. The coconut shrimp with tzatziki was a wonderful combo. Also dont be surprised with how the spanakopita looks, its very filling! The outdoor seating area is very nice and wonderful when the weather permits outdoor seating. There is no music so if you prefer the serenity of the outdoors this is a good spot for you. Service was alright, i assume that because it was later in the evening energy was low, but our waiter didnt seem very inclined to interact. But overall a great place with a great selection!

First off, this is a cash or check only establishment. This is a gem. I ordered the Souvlaki with keftedes, amazing meal. Finished off with a homemade coconut cake. Best authentic greek meals I've had. Nice cozy atmosphere, wonderful service, and walking distance from the Renaissance Hotel. I will be back.

The restaurant has a gorgeous patio with plenty of seating. Great for a nice fall day. We started with the fried coconut shrimp which was delicious. It had a nice, light, crispy batter with fresh tzatziki. I got the chicken portabello wrap which used a nice, fluffy pita. The chicken itself was not intrinsically flavorful, but the portabello mushrooms had their classic, juicy flavor and the yogurt-based sauce was very nice. The star of the show was the Greek fries though. They served these beautifully fried fries that had a crispy outside, with a perfectly cooked inside. Every single one of these fries had the same exact consistency. That is impressively difficult! Well made fries are no joke.

One of my favorite restaurants in the Rochester area. Cute spot with good service and reasonable prices. Food is always excellent. The Greek fries are to die for, I could seriously eat my weight in them. The saganaki is also tasty, like a fried cheese curd but with some extra tang.

    Spicy Feta Gyro

Spicy feta gyro $6.79 with fries $3.50 I recently visited this spot for a work lunch. We had made a reservation in advance and were seated outside, as we planned to bring my coworker's dog. The highlight of the meal for me was the gyro. It was good, reasonably priced, and had just the right level of spiciness. I just would have liked more spicy sauce and cheese. Since we stayed outside, I didn't get a chance to see what the interior of the restaurant looks like, but overall, it was a good outing. Food Insta @postedforu

I will start this as I always do by saying I do not give out five stars unless I am really blown…read moreaway. This is a very nice place to come and eat outside on the deck overlooking the Erie Canal. Had a great atmosphere. There was some live music playing in the common area along the canal, which I got to listen to. The view was nice. Staff was quick and friendly. The food was pretty good. I thought the hummus was very good. The falafel was just OK. But the Mediterranean salad was delicious. They're dressing was excellent. Could've used a few more olives other than that no complaints. I didn't get any of the dessert, but it looked awesome. Maybe next time. I strongly recommend coming here if your looking for some outdoor seating on a nice summer day.

I have mixed feelings about Aladdin's Natural Eatery in Schoen Place (Pittsford)…read more Pros: Vegan options exist. Outside seating by the canal is nice when the weather cooperates. Our server was reasonably friendly and efficient. Cons: They make it difficult to wait for a table. Pita bread is low quality. Chili was disappointing. They were out of falafel when we last visited. The setting is the best thing going for this place. Our table was outside near the canal, the weather was warm, and sitting by the water was quite pleasant. The problem is that the restaurant doesn't make it easy to wait for a table. They won't serve you a drink while you wait, and they won't call or text you when your table opens up, so you can't slip next door to the bar for a drink without risking your spot. The vegan options are limited but real. The veggie combo plate lets you pick either three or four items from falafel, hummus, baba ganoush, tourlu, sautéed spinach, and tabulee, and there's also a falafel pita pocket. I've sampled all these items before, and they all taste good, but most of it isn't very filling. The falafel is the exception, which made it a problem that they were out of it the last time I visited. We didn't find out until well after we'd ordered. Four of us at a table of six had ordered items with falafel, so we had to scramble for replacements. It seems unusual for a Middle Eastern restaurant to run out of falafel. The pita bread is a real letdown. It comes from a commercial bakery, and it's so soft that it doesn't have the firmness to scoop up hummus or baba. It also just doesn't taste very good. A restaurant like this should really be baking its own. I ordered a bowl of chili along with my combo plate. The chili arrived a few minutes after the combo (I was hoping it would come out first), and it was disappointing. It was very liquidy without many kidney beans, the portion was small for a bowl, and the flavor was mediocre at best. Our server was friendly and attentive, though he didn't know whether the tahini sauce was vegan. It turned out not to matter, since the tahini was meant to accompany the falafel we never got. I left somewhat disappointed and still hungry.
