The restaurant offers both indoor seating and snd area for outdoor dining during warmer weather. It's a smaller space but has a nice, casual feel, with Greek-inspired photos and decor on the walls. They seem to do a steady mix of dine in and takeout. We arrived around 5:15 PM on a Saturday, and it quickly filled up. Service was good, though it appeared to be just the owner and one other person running tue front of house they were definitely hustling. The menu is fairly extensive, though I'm not sure how many vegetarian options are available. We started with the fried calamari, which came with lemon and a dipping sauce (possibly garlic). It was good, though not standout. For my entrée, I ordered a platter with gyro meat and chicken, served with rice, tzatziki, and salad. The flavors were solid, but the rice was unfortunately lukewarm. I asked for extra tzatziki, which came in handy because my husband's gyro sandwich didn't include any, something that surprised us. Thankfully, I had enough to share. He did enjoy his meal overall and said the fries (ordered on the side) were tasty, though $6 for a side of fries felt a bit steep. Whatever I also had a glass of Greek white wine, which I enjoyed. Their wine and beer selection is small but decent. Overall, the food was good and the atmosphere welcoming. Went there for lunch with my wife today. There are 2 pasta dishes - one labeled spicy and the other not. I ordered the non-spicy pasta due to acid reflux. The dish came, and the pasta was spicy! Too hot for me. I told the waitress, they apologized, offered to replace it, but too much time had gone by already. The place has a bit of a hip vibe with specials written in chalk on the wall. It was fairly crowded and felt great to have a post-Covid real dining experience. The food ranged a bit. My wife and I absolutely loved the moussaka! It was baked perfectly with meat and long strips of eggplant on the inside and a cheesy top. You could really taste the cinnamon spice too! Staff was very friendly. We went on a Friday night, did not have reservations and they were able to get us in ASAP after a short uncomfortable argument between staff members. I would definitely recommend making reservations if You are going here. This place is very small. Server was efficient and friendly on a busy Friday. Food was ok. My moussaka was burnt/over cooked on one end making it hard and crusty. Flavor was pretty good, I wasn't expecting it to be on the sweeter end. Very cinnamon potent. Fries were typical. My family and I came in for lunch at Olives, and it was lovely! I really love the interior as it feels very homey. My mom and I both got the Olives Gyro which is gyro meat, feta cheese, tzatziki, tomatoes, and onions. The gyro's delicious and so flavorful! The veggies are tzatziki was super fresh and yummy. I also got a side of their Greek fries which have olive oil, oregano, lemon, and feta. I would not order them again as they were a bit underwhelming for the price. Went out to dinner with my family! Food was pretty good, its hard to find authentic Greek tastes as a Greek individual but this was pretty close. The coconut shrimp with tzatziki was a wonderful combo. Also dont be surprised with how the spanakopita looks, its very filling! The outdoor seating area is very nice and wonderful when the weather permits outdoor seating. There is no music so if you prefer the serenity of the outdoors this is a good spot for you. A long time favorite that never disappoints. Good Greek food, fresh made with great flavor. I always start with the soup. In summer, it's watermelon gazpacho! Perfect cold summer soup. Finally diced veggies with just a hint of heat. I could live on it. In cooler weather I always have the avgolemeno - a chicken, rice based soup . Warm and filling with the fresh lemon flavor . I could live on Olive's chicken in phyllo and have practically done so throughout COVID as a takeout. It's heaven. My husband and I finally got back to eating there inside tonite. Our young blonde waitress was so pleasant and accommodating ! Our meals were not quite up to par . The skordalia was not as good and seemed to have too much potato . The gyro platter was good but the serving size was a bit lacking. As far as the shrimp tacos go they were subpar. I have included a photo of the two tacos, each with two shrimp. For a $15 entree I would hope for more than four shrimp. The greek fries were excellent however. Overall I will be back but will steer away from the seafood. Olives Greek Taverna is one of our go-to places to grab a quick & healthy lunch. My wife & I both like a late lunch, which is a perfect time to visit Olive's. I like their gyros & my wife usually orders one of their salads. They have some unusual takes on the gyro, btw... my fave is the Cuban. Staff is laid back there... don't be surprised if your waiter sits down on one of the outside walls to take your order. While I haven't tried their Greek fries yet (not eating much fried food these days), it IS one of the most popular items on the menu. Crinkle cut fries with feta cheese and dill. Think of it as their take on poutine. One of these days we'll have to venture in for dinner. Till then, it will remain one of our favorite spots for lunch along the canal. read more

The server was friendly and efficient and she answered all of our questions. We started with an order of the Saganaki - I know it is goofy but I really like it when they flame it table side. Despite no fire here it was very tasty (and salty as usual). The pita was very fresh. For our meals we had the spicy feta gyro (very good) with Greek Fries (nice and crispy, not soggy), the gyro platter (good but the chicken was overcooked and dry), the lamb meatball special (good, not great), and the salmon (I don't recall the verdict on that dish). It wasn't busy at all when we went for a Monday lunch, but we felt like we were an inconvenience the whole time. We waited around for awhile before we went up to a waitress and asked if we could have a table. She said she had to clear them off and then we could sit. We waited outside for 10 minutes and she didn't come back out. So we decided to just go to the coffee shop, too bad they are closed on Mondays.
