I'm glad that I found Olivet's Flower Shop on Yelp as this gem of a family run shop is five stars all the way! Side note, I didn't even know that this street/area in Colma existed. Olivet's put together several spray arrangements for a memorial service, and they came out even better than the pictures on their website and catalog showed. Their work is beautiful and competitively priced. They also are super friendly and accommodating, to the extent of even letting me stay after closing (about 30 min after) to put my order in in-person. My aunt used to own a floral shop in Texas, and she kept commenting on how well of a job Olivet's did. We were texted photos of the arrangements when they were ready and upon delivery. I sent my sister to get the flowers and they told her twice the flowers were not ready which ok is fine and told my sister it was $85 and my sister was confused because I told her $75 when I got the flowers they were not pure white like I wanted they had a yellow/greenish tint and pearls added to them I never asked for pearls nor were they in the pictures I sent her. I couldn't go back and complain because I had to be at my wedding ceremony which was within two hours and didn't want to deal with my time being delayed. While the bouquet wasn't ugly at all it's not what I wanted and was charged extra to what we originally agreed to. Wish I knew what happened but oh well. read more

Conveniently located near the cemeteries, this flower shop is a lovely stop before we visit our loved ones who have gone on to different realms. The owner/staff here are very nice and friendly people. They are always cheerful but sensitive to your needs. Helpful because it can be emotional and depressing sometimes when you visit this area. A friendly face is always a blessing on days like that. I like to get one or two of the assorted daily picks and then get those spike cones that you can stick into the grass. The flowers here are fresh and they also offer to fill your cones with water so that the flowers can last longer. With Easter just behind us, I hope to come by soon after the SIP order gets lifted. Talk about supply and demand, lol. Olivet is one of the rare (but smart) flower shops located in the center of many cemeteries. Great customer service. But dang, the prices are quite up there. I paid almost $10 for 6 pink carnations. I was expecting to pay$5-$6 but nope, in my disparity I can't believe I paid almost $10, lol. Don't get me wrong, this flower shop has a great selection of pre-made bouquets, single flowers, large bouquets, balloons, flower signs and more! As soon as you walk inside, the smell of the fresh flowers is mesmerizing! Next time I will be sure to stop at Safeway before hitting up the cemetery. I took my mom here this past weekend to order a flower arrangement for a funeral service of one of her friend's mom. My mom was hesitating on ordering because the prices were too high, but ultimately gave in, as it was for someone special. After all the lady her told her not to worry that she would make it VERY SPECIAL, not cheap and very FULL of flowers. After paying $164.63, my mom expected just that. Unfortunately when she got to the funeral service, this is the cheap flower arrangement she got for the price she paid. SERIOUSLY!? $164.63 for this regular vase of flowers? I mean come on, I could have taken her up the street to Safeway or Lucky's and gotten her the EXACT same arrangement for $65!!!! They also sell the cemetery cones for flowers, the ones with the metal spike for the graves. The lady who helped me the last time I visited was very pleasant and helpful. Okay, I understand that it's 5PM and it's Mother's Day...I have a better chance getting flowers off of someones garden. However, I'm running late for my dinner reservations and it's on the way to my mother's house. I go inside and there's NOTHING there except rejects. A total of like 10 bouquets left, all of which are hot messes. In fact, I could safely say that Safeway flowers would look 100 times better than the rejects left. Understandable. Luckily, I found a bouquet of orange roses left. I rather odd mix because 11 of the roses were orange and there was a random skinny red rose in the middle. What? Did they run out of orange roses so they had to compensate? Anyway, I also got a huge beautiful purple rose in the fridge for my aunt. I was going to pick and choose with the roses in the fridge but I found out that they were $5 each. WTF? No wonder there was a bunch of THOSE flowers left. So I waited patiently in line while they nicely wrapped and packaged the flowers. They found a way to make those ugly ducklings somewhat decent by adding a little bit of baby's breath and pretty paper. ...and now it's my turn. The lady rudely grabs the flowers from my hand and wraps my flowers in some ugly plastic paper and staples it. Slides my card and then when I signed for my receipt I found out it was $56. WTF? Okay whatever, I get it...Mother's day. But talk about INFLATED prices! I blame myself for not telling the lady to repeat the price when she mumbled it to me. So my reasoning on why I give this place 1 star. I kindly asked her to re-wrap my flowers like the people before me. Keep in mind that those people bought 3 of the "cheap" $5 flowers. Her response: (in a rude manner) there's a long line behind you, NO! I turned around and there was 2 people behind me. I had 4 before me and I waited patiently as they made all of their flowers. Not happening! Of course I kindly spoke my mind and I made them re-wrap my flowers, even if it means waiting for the "line" to die down. My approach, nicely cut them with words in a calm soft-spoken manner with a friendly smile on my face. +1 it STILL LOOKED LIKE CRAP. I would give them 0.5 star for being RUDE, BIAS, SLOW, and having ugly WALGREEN'S looking flowers. I understand that the flower-shop is infront of a cemetery so it's not like their "regulars" are alive to see the flowers that they're getting. However, if I die and I get some crappy flowers from OLIVETS, so help me God, I will roll out of my grave and haunt that sorry person that dares to give to me. Amen. read more
