Both my children had an appt this past week, they were told by the Dentist that everything look good. I got a call this afternoon from the front desk stating that they gave my children incorrect information and that both my children needed root canal and had cavities. I asked them why the Dr Did not call me or my husband since we can't go in due to COVID and she said she didn't know. I asked why were my children told one thing and know she is pretty much telling my my children need hundreds of dollars worth of work and she was like I don't know. I asked to have the records and a letter stating what was needed and she said she couldn't send that to me. I told Her I don't understand why a front desk is telling me this information and not a doctor. I told her that she could cancel my children's future appt as we will go somewhere else, she said ok and hung up. I've been to a few dentists in my life. And I felt like the dentist rushed really quickly and didn't really make me feel assured that she did a good job at checking if I really had cavities. Cleaning was decent, but everything seemed very rushed and didn't felt super cared for or assured that I was being properly diagnosed. Otherwise it was fine they do what they need to. No one likes to go to the dentist BUT if you need to go I recommend this place because: Easy to find,plenty of parking,polite efficient receptionist with kind words to make you feel welcomed always.She takes the time to help you if your having any trouble with any insurance problem and does not look all put out by that.they run pretty much on time.Clean,modern updated atmosphere.Dr. Rodrigues is very nice and has a gentle touch.they also have you watch videos on how to care for your teeth while your in the chair.I just have one suggestion for ALL dentists.that stuff you put in our mouths tastes nasty and if you could offer us a DRINK OF WATER afterwards it would definitely be welcomed!. read more

NO ONE USE THEIR ONLINE SCHEULER. They don't check it, you assume you have an appointment. No one calls you. Then you show up and they say its not hooked up to our calendar and we cant see you. I had my first appointment today and I was thrilled to meet Dr.Olivia due to her excellent reviews-only to learn she wasn't able to provide me with the service I needed because she hadn't an oral surgeon and because of my insurance she said, SHE didn't think I would get approved! I was so disappointed to hear this so as soon as I returned to my car and called my insurance company explaining my situation. The representative stated she could get me approved for an oral surgeon all she needed was a referral from the Drs office! I hurried back into the office told her front desk coordinator that I had my insurance carrier who was on the phone-she began explaining to her FRONT DESK SCHEDULING PERSON - SHE STATES I CAN SEND A REQUEST BUT WOULDN'T DO IT AS AN EMERGENCY THE REPRESENTATIVE LEENA SAID TO HER, IF I AM IN PAIN IT WAS AN EMERGENCY! Avoid this dentist at all cost! The staff was extremely rude and had zero human compassion. I had a medical emergency come up where i needed 10 stitches and called to reschedule due to an extreme amount of pain just leaving the ER. They would not reschedule forcing me to A) come in with a swollen freshly stitched hand or B) I was no longer welcome there. As a dental patient you are entitled to your dental records by law. I spoke to the front office person and asked for my records to be sent to me. The older lady acted like it was such a big inconvenience to her and used a testy tone with me. They were never sent to me. I asked for them again and never heard back. In my 40 years of dealing with dental offices, I have never encountered this before. The dentists and hygienists were fine but the front office person needs to be trained and managed better or replaced if need be. read more

ONE of the worst Dentist around the Sacramento region, she tried to be the office manager/ owner/ dentist all at the same time is almost an impossible task to take on. I had 4 cavity and she told me I only had one. after doing my own research and talking to my insurance to get a second opinion with another highly PROFESSIONAL very Artistic dentist. it's clearly a misdiagnose that with small hole in 2 of my teeth it's cavity alright. When things don't go her way she will release you from her office in a quickness like how she did with many client of hers in the past and you can see it in her Yelp reviews. SHE only likes to keep top notch private dental insurance. Just like a chef, if you can't handle the heat don't cook in the kitchen. Mediocre ( Arrogant) Dentists are dime and dozen, but a good artist in dentistry are very hard to come by. with that kind of work and diagnosis I don't want to go back, you are FIRE! beware!!!....you can also file a formal complaint with the state for further investigation.... There's MORE dental office in Sacramento than Target, wal-mart, Best Buy combined. Potential clients should never feel desperate in picking the best ones out there for their family. Social Media is a powerful tool to fan out the BAD ones and beware of those offices with fake family and friends reviews of their own to prop up their fake ratings. I just so happened to live near the office a little over a year ago & was in desperate need of a convenient dentist. This gem of a dentistry is now the forever-dental-home for myself & my children. The entire team is amazing. The skill & passion in the office is like none other. There's no long hold time when you call. You're only in the waiting area a matter of minutes, if that. If you have questions or are even just slightly curious about anything everyone is patient & has no problem explaining things in laymen's term. Half the time you don't even have to ask because the dentists explain everything thoroughly. They talk with you, not at you. If you need a dental team this support system can't be outdone read more

After reading other reviews I don't feel bad in posting my experience. I made an appointment here as I was on Medi-Cal. The office was fine, receptionist was pleasant, then I was called in. I went for a check up, nothing else. I was brought into a room with multiple chairs, I've never been in a dentist office like that before, usually each person is in their own little room. So I get to listen to all the noises right next to me which is not pleasant! I then am told I need to do x-rays, so of course I let them. Then the bib is put on me, Dr comes over & looks in my mouth & then starts putting this goop on my teeth. I attempted to say - what is that & she explained it was a fluoride treatment. I was like NO & so she proceeded to stop & get it off me. Once my mouth was clear I explained that I was only in for her to look, that I didn't need a cleaning or anything else. She took off my bib & sent me back to the receptionist. At this point I thought this was so strange, I just wanted to get out of there. I explained to the receptionist that when I called, I just needed an exam & told her what went on back there. I look over my shoulder & guess who was in the doorway just standing there listening, the Dr. weird! You couldn't pay me to go back to this place. I've never been to a dentist that acts like this or treats customers this way. At the very least, they should tell you what they plan on doing, not just think everyone knows nothing about certain procedures. read more

Love this dental office! Have been coming here since we moved to the area and everyone is always so nice and friendly. Dr.Cumby and Dr.Rodriguez are really knowledgeable. He always walks me through the process and he never makes me feel like he's in a rush. Tonya in the front desk will always brighten your day! Love her! And Claudia the assistant is also super friendly. They make me feel like family every time. Another plus is how clean their office and restroom is. If I could give 0 stars I would. I went in for an emergency appointment with a really bad toothache The dentist refused treatment on my tooth because I couldn't afford to get a crown. (My dental insurance won't cover crowns) I was told I should sell everything I own to get 1150$ for a crown. And until then she wouldn't do anything. I told her I don't have anything to sell because I don't own anything at the moment and she told me that's to bad and I should find a different dentist then. They asked me to review them so I am. Probably not the review they want but it's the one they get for asking for it. Update- Someone asked me to go more in-depth on my experience so I will say this. I went to them ONCE when they had some special because I didn't have dental insurance at the time. They told me I had 4 cavities. I decided to wait to see for a few months (cuz that really didn't make much sense to me*) , and later got dental insurance and decided to just cross-reference the dentist with another because there are things I always cross-reference to not get scammed (dentists, autos, etc.). Conclusion: The other dentist said I just had gingivitis but there was only one that was even close to a cavity.... I doubt I still have the old dental insurance but I was entitled to come one more time for a cleaning at this place but I liked the other dentist better so I decided to eat the loss. I don't appreciate being asked for a Yelp review the first time I met them either; I reviewed them because I don't think it's fair that they are soliciting reviews so I just wanted to negate some of their b.s. 2nd of all because they don't have my number anymore they decided to contact my emergency contact to tell them I need to call them because they apparently didn't like my review. I don't really know why there are so many 1 star reviews. I have liberty dental (medi-cal) and have had a great experience so far. I hadn't went to the dentist in a long time and I had several cavities I left alone for years. On my first visit, I called and got a same-day appointment. I got my gums cleaned well and lots of x-rays. Dr. Olivia Rodrigues was careful to make sure she found every cavity. I was given an appointment for about a week later and she filled my 8 cavities in one day. She was very careful to make sure I breathed deeply while getting the numbing shots. During the procedure when I seemed uncomfortable she asked if it was painful and gave me a few more shots so I couldn't feel a thing. This was my first time getting any dental work. The fillings are seamless with my teeth and I'm healing well. I also have never had the woman up front be unfriendly. read more

Unfortunately I don't know if she's a good dentist or not. I do know know that this office is not kid friendly. They have a rule where no one is allowed to be in the room with you. I was not informed of this when I made my emergency appointment. I tried to explain that my son is special needs and needs to be able to see me. I've never had a problem over my son sitting and watching a movie at any other dentist I've gone to. I'm extremely disappointed with their attitude over my SPECIAL NEEDS child. Reply: Interesting. Because you informed me it was because he might get freaked out. I should have paid more attention to the reviews. This place is Horrible the woman at the front desk who does billing is absolutely atrocious. They only care about cashing checks and could care less about your actual dental needs. She was extremely rude to multiple times and when I went in with a dental emergency they scoffed could care less and said oh well go to the clinic. Even when I offered to pay out of pocket if insurance could not approve immediately I was treated horribly and was told again go to the clinic. I for one like to build a relationship with the medical professionals I interact with for my health. I've had dental work done by both Dr. Rodrigues and Dr. Cumby, and it has been nothing but professional. With my previous dentist, I had been less proactive about my dental health. Dr. Rodrigues provided me with a lot of information, including computer-generated reports of the status of every one of my teeth. This allowed me to systematically prioritize my dental needs, and address them in a manageable way. Dr. Cumby has impressed me most with his combination of "bedside manner" and the ability to provide detailed information about new procedures and practices in a highly understandable form. Thanks to them, I am now on a regular schedule for cleanings, and use the sonic toothbrush that they recommended. As a result, I've got a much better oral health record...I only wish I had come here a lot sooner! read more

I had seen Dr. Rodrigues 20+ years ago when she was in my dental plan. I then had lost my medi-cal. So that was many years of NO dental care. I was able to get back on medi-cal a couple years ago.Fast forward to now, I was frustrated and just really sick of being treated so poorly by my previous dentists office. I got online to see if I could find someone else on my Liberty plan. I CANNOT explain my joy when I saw Dr.Rodrigues on the list of "currently accepting patients"!! I got an appointment for the SAME DAY. That was yesterday and I'm still on Cloud nine. She and her staff are reminiscent of the dental experiences i remember. They care if you are waiting. They care if you are in pain. They just CARE. After I filled out my paperwork, very kindly given by the receptionist, I settled in for the usual hour and a half wait I've become accustomed to at my previous dentist.Five minutes later I'm called back, x-rayed, teeth cleaned, watched information on my mouth issues on their tv, and finally, in comes Dr. Rodrigues. Kind, intelligent, very gentle touch. Wow. I have gone to dental heaven. She gave me a fully explained treatment program, something I couldn't beg, borrow or steal from my previous office. I was encouraged to call if I have any questions. Dr. Rodrigues and her team totally rock, excellent care AND unbelievably fabulous customer service with a big scoop of kindness? Yes please!!! DO NOT COME HERE!!! My mother in law was told by this office she needed a stay plate which she paid $300 out of pocket for. After a second opinion it was determined and she didn't need it because the extractions she was having done were for back teeth, so they wouldn't be seen anyway! The new office called Dr. Rodrigues's IN FRONT OF ME saying she was transferring care and would not be needing the stay plate so it needed to be cancelled. Fast forward we haven't heard anything from Dr. Rodrigues's office. Today we called and they claimed they were never told to cancel it... if that was the case then why did we NEVER receive a call to come pick it up...??? I understand there is lab fees that have to be subtracted sense the appliance is already made. However they are only reimbursing $78.... I HIGHLY doubt she was only profiting $78 from the entire appliance. I have previously worked in the dental field and have never seen such poor professionalism and terrible patient care. read more

After loosing Delta Insurance and being covered under Medi-Cal I found Dr. Rodrigues who accepts Medi-Cal, so I changed my daughters to her dental practice as well. On their appt. day, we arrived on time, but had to wait 45 minutes to actually be seen. My 9 year old daughter went in first. They DENIED my request to go back with her as it was her first time with this dentist. The doctor came out 15 minutes later, looked at me and asked if I was the mother. She gave me a rude look, and without giving me an opportunity to speak, told me my daughter had 5 cavities that were in her BABY teeth but she felt it was necessary to fill them. She quickly asked if I would give her permission to apply sealants today that were necessary. It seemed as though this was all she was concerned about. Next my older daughter went in and received x-rays and a brief cleaning that did NOT consist of polishing or flossing by the hygienist . Then Dr. Rodrigues came in and administered an inadequate tooth scraping and proceeded to show her the plaque and tell her how much plaque was in her mouth in a rude and condescending way. Dr. Rodrigues came out to the front again announcing that my older daughter had 6 cavities and needed sealant on one tooth also. She was determined that it be done today even though I asked for it to be postponed to the date of the fillings. She made it seem like the only thing she wanted to do was put on the sealants which would of course be paid by medi-cal immediately . Upon leaving, when my older daughter inquired about cosmetic procedures on her front teeth, Dr. Rodrigues didn't answer the question, just told us loudly in the front waiting room, that " Medi-cal didn't cover it and it's quite an expensive procedure", acting as though she didn't have the patience to explain it to us because she thought we couldn't afford it. While my daughters were being seen, I asked Tonya ,the NOT SO FRIENDLY receptionist for a print out of the treatment plan and to be shown the cavities on the x-rays. She told me " We don't give out treatment plans", and then hastily gave me one after I insisted. After leaving, I called back to ask a question, Tonya answered and quickly handed the phone to Dr. Rodrigues. Before I could even ask my question, she told me that she learned that I had asked to see the x-rays and then followed up with that she hopes I get my children the dental care they need but it will not be here because she was dismissing me from her practice. So within 7 days I took my daughters to our trusted previous dentist of 13 yrs. (paying cash), and found their teeth had not been cleaned at all, found 2 cavities NOT 6 in my older daughter, and 4 cavities more in my younger daughter, all found in PERMANENT TEETH. Dr. Rodrigues only diagnosed 5 cavities in her baby teeth. It's only speculation, but i'm assuming she wanted to bill Medi-cal for the 5 cavities(in baby teeth that will be coming out soon anyways) and planned on following up with the remaining permanent teeth on our next visit, had we remained patients. Dr. Rodrigues GOT WHAT SHE WANTED...to bill Medi-cal for inadequate cleanings, misdiagnosed x-rays, and plenty of sealants then was happy to dismiss us. I realize this is quite a lengthy review but there is even more that I feel I need to add . I asked for the x-rays to be transferred over to our TRUSTED dentist and went in to sign the release so that could be done . Tonya was VERY FRIENDLY, LOL, and assured me they would be emailed prior to our appts. which I gave them 5 days notice. AMAZING ....x-rays WERE NEVER SENT!!!!!! Tonya had given me a printed out copy of x-rays the day i signed release and told me " here's a copy but these are not adequate for diagnostic purposes." I'm sure that was because they never intended to email DIAGNOSTIC ones. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS, UNPROFESSIONAL DENTISTRY AT ITS BEST!!!!!!!!!! read more

My parents and sisters all go to Dr. Rodrigues's office, my mother went in for her routine exams and was told she was cavity free; yet recently she had a filling come out and started experiencing some discomfort. She scheduled for an emergency visit and received a limited examination but the doctor failed to apply any type of temporary fillings while she was able to receive a permanent filling. My mom experienced sensitivity for about a month until her appointment came; once the appointment time came she was rescheduled. The day of her appointment Dr. Rodrigues refused to do a filling because my mother who has ovarian cysts told her that she had taken ibuprofen for the pain. Sarcastically and condescendingly she said "well if you took ibuprofen I'm going to send you to a specialist because you need an RCT"; my mother clarified that the motive for her taking ibuprofen was for her cysts, yet, the doctor insisted that she was not going to take an X-ray to properly diagnose and give the referral. Following this, my mom literally begged for her to just check or put a temporary filling and Dr. Rodrigues proceeded to stand up and walk out the door having my mom still on the chair. My mom is a Spanish speaker and was extremely humiliated by this doctors behavior. Working in the dental field myself this is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. My mom spoke spanish to the assistant to better explain her situation and Dr. Rodrigues questioned her. She told her that if she didn't like her service she could go wherever she liked. My mother left this office in tears, a doctor with this type of empathy for her patients should not serve such caretaking profession. read more

Extremely disappointed with this office. My mother needs dentures and she was accepted as a patient at this office. We went to our initial visit but weren't able to do anything because they had to check with her insurance provider to see what was allowed. They told us they would follow up. Its now been a month and we cant get ahold of anyone there. When we call the office line it either goes directly to a messaging service or it disconnects entirely. The one time the receptionist actually answered, she put me on hold indefinitely. Any message weve left has never been returned with a call. I don't understand at all why we've been treated with such indifference from a company that seems so well regarded by these reviews. I do know that my mother has been dealing with pain for months now and by all accounts, the office of Olivia Rodrigues does not intend on adhering to the ethical standards of the American Dental Association. THE RECEPTIONIST CALLED ME MONDAY THE 30TH WHEN I SAID HELLO, THEY SAID IS THIS CHRIS MOSS WHO LEFT A BAD REVIEW? I said yes it is, and I don't have time to talk I am on my landline dealing with an emergency, and they said well we just want to make sure you get your dental care taken care of. I am sure they were about to tell me that they were going to refuse to see me again like I have read other reviews say they do, but I snapped I am dealing with an emergency and hung up. I didn't give them a chance to.............................................They were not super friendly, the dentist will hop between patients, so my appointment was at 9:30 but it was actually more like past 11 before I was seen and got out of there. They will not let anyone in the room with you, so if you're scared, or need company, nope forget it. Or have a kid that would sit quietly and had to come with mom, nope. If your kid is little and is the patient though, you will, of course, be allowed to do what is called lap to lap with your child so they can be examined. They claim in another review complaining of this, this is because of hippa and small space and safety but that's bs, because I have been to many other Dentists, with tiny rooms even yes, that if I needed someone in there with me, they were fine with it. And my bf too. The only way he will willingly get in the chair is if I am with him. I told her I had super sensitive teeth and asked her if that could be related to my gum disease, and she dismissively says no, I believe that's something else. but never tried to address it any more than that. Usually all the dentists I have gone to show some kind of care or concern or advise sensitive people toothpaste. She was like why don't you come every 6 months to get teeth cleaned? and when I said I couldn't afford to, she says what do you mean? Well, obviously I mean I am low income and I just don't have money always to shell out 60 to 80 bucks depending on where I go and pay out of pocket. Sometimes something would obviously hurt in my cleaning and my teeth polishing and I would cry out and they never once checked on me. or asked if I needed to stop, or was I ok. Now here's the big thing, if you are at all afraid of Dentists, do not come here. they have TVs in each patient bay showing computer-generated videos of how dental procedures are done. and showing real pictures of people who had horrible metal fillings. I suppose you could ask them to turn it off because you're bothered by it, but I never asked because I wasn't bothered by it, however, my boyfriend would have been, HE is EXTREMELY phobic of the Dentist. They do have a very rudely worded cancellation policy too. If you screw up even once and miss an appointment or are late they state quite rudely they will never reschedule you, you're just going to have to find a new Dentist to go to. I mean come on? refusing to see a patient any more because they missed ONE appointment the very FIRST time? You must be rolling in patients to be able to afford to throw them out when they screw up just once. read more

I can't say enough nice things about Dr. Rodrigues. She's been my dentist for several years and I actually look forward to going to the dentist! Very friendly, kind, gentle, caring and professional. My husband, who was terribly afraid of the dentist and put off going for years, finally tried her and he's hooked. He goes regularly now and is never anxious or distressed about the dentist and recommends her to everyone. I missed my first appointment two weeks ago. Tanya the receptionist told me on the phone that it was going to be $100.00 for broken appointment, I answered that is $50.00 , she kept telling me that it is 100.00 so I went to the office to talk to the doctor and she was telling me irrelevant things in order to justify Tanya. Finally she checked my contract that says $50.00 for broken appointment, she just said ok. Is $50.00 but she never apologized to me. I ask her why they never give me the copy of the work done and she said that they don't do that. I asked why she always charge me before the work is done. (Everywhere I pay after the work is done. ) No answer. I think they aren't professional s, they never know how much the total of the procedure is going to be because the doctor says that insurances change prices all the time which is not true I have been in other offices and they maintain the price until they finish the work. Heidi the hygienist made to swallow the debris when she was cleaning my mouth. I feel so humiliated so I called them racists and the doctor kicked me out telling me not to come back. I don't want to come back anymore. It takes courage to speak out. Somebody has to do it. I am satisfied that I could make a difference. I have no problem with my first and only visit until I recently received a call from the office. Apparently my insurance provider required a copy of my full mouth x-rays as evident of the condition I was treated for. Why this was not done prior to the treatment is beyond me! I had to obtain a copy of the x-rays from my former dentist (Middleton), at a cost to me! For this I am searching for a new dentist that is knowledgeable in the proper procedures in obtaining compensation with insurance providers. It is not the job of the client to ensure the compensation of the work performed of the dentist. read more
