The sandwich for me was a miss from the deli. The meatball sub left much to be desired, the bread was doughy and had minimal sauce added to it (maybe try and broil the bread before adding the meatballs to it). The meatballs weren't anything to write home about. It just felt empty and without any real love to the sauce, the texture of the meat or the cheese which I peeled off of the tin foil in a glob . Why do I give it a 4 star then? The desserts are absolutely phenomenal. I had a peanut butter cheesecake and I will honestly say it's the BEST I've ever had. Everything was packaged with the desserts beautifully! The interior was well kept, clean and relatively efficient with checkout. The service was great, the girls behind the counter were friendly and attentive to everyone that came into the store and were quick to get orders! Overall I would go back to try the breakfast sandwiches they have as I've heard plenty of good things about them! read more

Olivia's is a local gem. The food is great, and they're super accommodating for custom orders. It can be a bit slow at times but we like to order ahead and it always is great and custom orders correct. One of the only places around that does breakfast sandwiches all day. They also have lots of great wine and beer, premade entrees and sides, (love the mac and cheese) and cute local merchandise for souvenirs and gifts. The girls that work up front are so sweet! The atmosphere is casual and homey. I definitely reccomend coming here for a great sandwich and great conversation. I agree with the other reviews mentioning rude girls but most of them are young and seasonal and rotate quickly. As long as they keep providing the best sandwiches in town, i'm willing to put up with it. However - i am very happy to see the fall2023 blonde go. she was nasty and a horrible employee. read more

Ordered dinner tonight. Ws told 30 minutes I said sure no problem as I was at work. I got there maybe 7 minutes before the "30 minute " quoted time. Went to the register to pay amd then stood there patiently waiting for my order to be done. I was then addressed by a young female with blonde hair and a really bad fake tan going on.... she said are you Mike? In a really nasty tone in her voice. I politely said yes. She then proceeds in the rudest tone to tell me she told me half an hour the food isn't ready. I politely said sure no problem got here early and paid.... while preparing my order proceeded to give me dirty looks as she talked to her coworker saying how people need to listen better when given a time for their food loudly to ensure I heard her. Are you serious right now? Not acceptable especially when working in customer service. Next time maybe be polite and tub in your fake tan so you don't look like a oompa loompa ogre......will not be back to this establishment again. read more

We have always stopped in Olivia's to pick up some food for my elderly mom. Mom wanted a cheesesteak sandwich so that's what we ordered. It was the worst Philly cheesesteak sandwich we ever had. Grizzly meat overcooked like rubber with no taste at all. We ordered 2 and got to our destination had a couple of bites and had to throw out. We called the store to let them know how disappointed we were and they asked me to call back before 10 am on Monday to speak with AJ the manager. I did call but naturally AJ was to busy to pick up the phone . Kathleen was the mediator told me she would get him my message. Hours latter still no AJ but Kathleen called me to tell me how sorry she was but there was nothing they could do. Really $22.00 for the worst sandwiches ,one would think they would of said come on up and pick up two sandwiches of your choice or just refund us the $22.00 Olivia's is getting to big for their britches and people should wake up. I am a frequent customer of Olivia's, and the service from the workers hasn't changed. They are flat out rude, not friendly, with no personality. I honestly do not feel welcome in the store. They always mess up your order even though you repeat it twice and they write it down. The only reason I keep coming back is because its the only bagel place we have (if not I'd take my business elsewhere) and the subs are good (very good quality meat) but very pricey, I understand that times are different, but whoa! I am a big believer in giving second chances. I bestowed this upon Olivia's market long ago when I recieved poor service from a clerk. Sadly, I had to revoke it this morning, and remove one star from my review. It was for the same reason, poor service, from the same individual. (whom I learned the name of, but will keep confidential, as i am still respectful.) The second incident in question was a case of blatently ignoring me at the counter. I walked up, they CLEARLY saw me, turned around, and proceeded to make a sandwich- not even giving me the "be right with you" line, which would have been fine, they may have just recieved a call in order, I understand. So, i said rather loudly "excuse me, may I have some help?" this individual then dropped everything, and proceeded to walk towards the door to the back room. I then walked up to the cashier, who was standing not 10 ft away, watching everything happen, and I asked them if I could get a couple of things out of their pastry display, only to be told I had to wait in line in front of the counter i just left. I angrily told the cashier (as if they didnt just witness it) that i was waiting, but the associate ignored me and walked away. They then just shrugged and went "they are busy right now. You gotta wait your turn." Even though i was the only one in front of the counter at the time. The cashier wasnt busy either, considering that after i walked away they went back to standing around with their arms crossed! I am truely on the fence whether I would ponder going back there. They do have delicious food and great pastry selections- but the trade off of feeling like a burden everytime I walk in, is clearly not worth it read more

Extremely annoyed!!! Went to get a simple sub- turkey, lettuce, tomato and mayo. The girl was completely distracted by her boyfriend and forgot lettuce and covered my sandwich with yellow hot peppers. On top of that it was on white bread, not a sub roll. HUGE THUMBS DOWN!!! read more

5 stars are not easy for me to give out. Is everything perfect, every time I go in the store, no. But you have to judge the store on the overall quality of product, service, cleanliness. For the money the food is very good and the service is usually excellent. The best indicator of of there service is traffic. This place is always busy. I used to love to go to Olivia's but every time I go, the service gets worse and worse! One time I ordered the chicken, bacon, ranch wrap OFF OF THE MENU which included a variety of veggies inside, and they literally gave me chicken, bacon and ranch in a wrap. Wtf. They even manage to mess up a simple bagel. Every time I order a plan bagel with butter it's barely toasted and they put an entire stick of butter on the bagel and it doesn't even melt. They are ALWAYS short staffed and they always close their kitchen about 30 minutes sooner than the closing time on the door states. It's a joke. read more

Food is ok the experience sucks. Long lines, people waiting to pay for food they haven't received yet at the register while the cashier tries to figure out the price, usually with 5-6 people waiting behind them. They have two registers, never seen both in action. Gas is always 6 cents more per gallon than any other gas station. I'll drive to Stewarts for cheaper gas and to avoid waiting 20 minutes in line at the register. read more

The reviews here are not representative of the quality of this place. One of the best deli's in Rutland by a wide margin. I come here weekly and am always very happy with the quality of the food but of the kindness of the staff. The catering is the best in Rutland and is the go to for many of the businesses in the area. Also of note they have a better craft beer section than the majority of stores including Terrill street. Highly recommended. read more

I have found this store to have a good bagel selection and relatively quick service. I did return a $15.00 homemade berry pie which lacked enough sugar that it wasn't edible for me. I love this place! Everything is either homemade or VT made which is awesome! You never find that anywhere any more. It's also family owned which is cool too. I have read a lot of the reviews and it's sad. For one thing I understand why people get upset with the service. The problem is that most of the staff are fresh out of High School and they're still learning. Yes, they mean seem rude at times but it comes with the territory. The only problem I have ever had was standing at the counter for 5 mins waiting for the cashier while he's talking with a co-worker. That was very frustrating especially when your on your way to work. But I stop there every day, and I love it! Some people are just too High Maintenance to enjoy the simple things in life! read more

Slow terrible service. The staff at the sandwich bar put tickets out of order on purpose if they dont like you for some reason. So you will see people who ordered after you get their order first. The staff is always arguing amongst themselves and are slow to server customers. And dont even ask to use the bathroom unless you have a lot of hand sanitizer. AVOID this place. read more
