I've visited this Barnes & Noble location several times, and every previous visit has been…read morepleasant. Unfortunately, this experience was very different. The cashier, a gentleman with sandy red hair, gave the customer ahead of me excellent service. He was friendly, talkative, asked if the customer had a Rewards membership, took the time to explain the program, handed him his bag, and waited until he walked away before calling me to the register. When it was my turn, there was no greeting or conversation. I placed my book on the counter, and he simply rang it up and said my total. Only as I was paying did he quickly ask if I had a Rewards card, almost as an afterthought. Before he had even put my receipt in the bag, he was already calling the next customer over. I had a question, but he rushed through his response so quickly that it felt like he couldn't wait to move on. The difference in how I was treated compared to the customer before me was very noticeable. I left feeling like I was an inconvenience rather than a valued customer. I've always enjoyed shopping at this location, which is why this interaction was so disappointing. I hope management reminds staff that every customer deserves the same level of courtesy and attention.

This is quite the hidden gem of a bookstore in Atlanta! This place feels very cozy and calming. There are countless books throughout the entire store sorted by genres. They even have a downstairs area filled with additional books as well as periodicals and magazines. The store almost transports you back in time, because there are sooooo many older and vintage copies of books. They even have some signed books for sale too! I saw a Dr. Seuss booked that was signed by the man himself...pretty cool if I do say so myself! The signed copies vary, but definitely take a look when you're there! Years ago they were located across the street, but the man (owner?) at the desk confirmed it was the same store. They did not have the book I wanted, but it was painful to have to leave the place without pursuing the shelves. .If you are a book buyer and are in the area, allow some time to check out this shop. It is well organized and well-lit. A thrift store and handsome household consignment shop are in the same plaza. I will stop at Wall of Books in October and will allow myself time on the next trip to make purchases.

Spent a day in Athens while on a roadtrip recently and as always, I have to check out a local…read morerecord shop. Low Yo Yo is a brief walk away from the historic 40 Watt Club and near plenty of dining and drinking choices. While a relatively small store, it's packed wall to wall with a lot of records! I was particularly impressed by the great selection of catalogue titles they have--I always have a running list of records I'm looking for and often these are not present in my local shops. Many, if not most, of what I looked for WAS present here. Often a new title, shrinkwrapped and priced accordingly--but fairly/within market range. They did have some original pressings and used items, but overall their used items seem to be vastly outranked by their new items. However, I can't quite be sure of that as beyond the row of newly arrived used items all others are filed with their new counterparts. I like the overall organization of this store--by genre, by artist, and often within an artist's section all of the solo and sideprojects of a group are present and accounted for. There's also a pretty sweet local artists section (including REM) near the register. Friendly service, cool shop, would definitely make this a regular stop if I lived in the area.
