Value for most things, 5 stars. The food and clothing start at the highest price on Saturday and go down every day until Friday when there's not much left. So some things are not a great deal on Saturday but if you're willing to risk it and go back in two or three days, then the price is cheaper and it's a great value, although some things are still a great value even on Saturday (think protein chips/drinks/bars and coffee)!!!! The line at 10am on a Saturday will let you know how serious some of the regulars are about getting the best quality stuff right after a shipment comes in! Ohh wait, there's more! Enter your phone # at checkout and after you spend so much (maybe $150 but that's a guesstimate) you get $10 off a purchase!!! It can't get any better!

This is not the easiest store to navigate nor is it the most organized. There are snacks galore, from crackers, to nuts, chocolate, and cereal, plenty of that. You'll find carpets, area rugs, door mats, etc.. I wasn't looking for furniture, but I think you could find some odd nightstands or a small table. When my pup was still alive, I would pick up all sorts of necessities for him from Job Lot, including the extendable leash, poopy bags, treats, etc... The items on the shelves aren't always marked with the prices, this is pretty frustrating. I have to always go to the price check machine to see the cost. And finding one in this store is a mission. Most items are a small fraction of what you would pay at Target or a grocery store. If you can find your size and color preference in a bathing suit, they are only $5 - $10. Overall this was a good shopping experience at Ocean State Job Lot.

Unlike The Christmas Tree Shop that I think of as offering cheaper items and being great for getting little things, Big Lots has a great and pretty extensive selection of everything from non-perishable food to household items to furniture. Definitely get a loyalty card with them and then wait for their "20% off everything in the store for members" weekend to get everything you need. They sometimes email out coupons that are an even steeper discount, like $15 off $45, but those are less convenient because you have to buy a certain amount. The coupons come frequently enough that there's no need to shop there inbetween, and the discounts can even be used on big purchases like furniture. The things I typically get here are a mixed bag, but my regular items are generally food-related and include: canned corn, Beanitos (tortilla chips made out of beans), Terra chips (normally super expensive but healthy brand of various kinds of vegetable chips), organic tea bags, and Bob's Red Mill products. Staff are friendly and pleasant to interact with--definitely recommend this location over the Manchester store. This review is four stars because they tend to have only one register open, which means generally a longer than usual wait time to check out. Also they don't accept coupons, which I use frequently.
