They claim you can save up to 70 percent off regular prices. The store was well stocked and very neat when we shopped today. I didn't find anything I wanted, but my wife did. We'll be attending a Charity Banquet and Ball in a few weeks, and she was looking for a dress to wear. She found a beauty - a nice red Calvin Klein dress stickered at $134 but tagged at just $49.97. That's 62% off. Customer service was great. When we went to the register to pay, we saw a minor stitching defect at the back of the dress. Our cashier arranged for a runner to head back to the rack with us and we found the exact same dress in perfect condition. No complaints at all. read more

They have a great selection of name brands and hidden gems -- definitely some good finds at great prices! The store itself is well stocked and worth browsing through. The only thing that could make the experience even better would be a friendlier vibe from the staff. I've been wanting to stop for years. Finally had time and was in the area. It was a Wednesday around 3pm. The store had a decent amount of shoppers and many full racks of clothes. I was a little overwhelmed & didn't know where to begin, but knew I needed one particular item for sure. I needed a dress for my nephews graduation. I finally found a rack of maxi dresses in my size. But, it was a disappointing experience. A worker kept cutting in front of me as I was sifting through the dresses. She would pull dresses off and move them to a different rack and then step directly in front of me again and again doing the same thing. To merchandise I suppose? But please in the future, let a customer shop!! It was annoying and distracting. She never asked "can I help you find something" she was intent on just doing whatever it was she was doing. The prices seemed ok for the most part. Some higher end brands had similar prices to Macys which was influenced me to go across the street to Macys. I didn't make it over to the shoe area, I'll give it another go when I'm in the area. read more

I went to this store to find a dress for an event and ended up changing my mind as I was approaching the register (which I feel many people do) . I bought a few other items instead. As I began to head to the exit one of the employees from the dressing room got my attention. She had helped me in the dressing room with the dress I had tried on. I heard her say "you didn't end up getting the dress" and I explained how I changed my mind. I thought this was a polite conversation until she began to say "you just left it on the wrong rack, that's not right". I was so confused because I thought it was her job. Maybe she was upset because it was 45 minutes before closing time but I was in shock at how she was so nice to my daughter and I in the dressing room but when she learned I didn't buy the dress and put it on the nearest rack she wanted to actually confront me on that matter. The employee at the register was also rude and seemed like she didn't want to be there. So maybe she should quit. I'm never spending my money here because the service gives off weird vibes. read more

You never know what you could find at Nordstrom Rack. They sell women's, men's and children's apparel. There's purses and luggage here. I've gotten some really nice purses over the years at Nordstrom Rack. There's lots of shoes, skin care, and make up, also home items and toys. I like to shop here when they offer the additional 25% off red tags. I can find a real bargain that way. I'll sometimes shop on their website if something isn't available in the store. Returns are always easy and convenient. There are parts of the store that are significantly more oranized and easier to navigate, while other parts are a bit overly packed. Either way it's worth looking though. They also have an in house tailor. I bought a formal dress here one year, and they did alternations for me at no additional cost. It probably depends on what kind of adjustments and what the fabric is, on how much (or if anything) they charge. I actually didn't know they offered this service, until a customer told me about it. The job was done flawlessly and very quickly. I needed the dress the next day! I love stopping by Nordstrom Rack, most of the time I'll find a great gem at a great price. read more

They have clothing, purses & perfumes, seasonal household items and shoes. They do offer GPay which is easy to pay and go and they offer online pickup. It's difficult to navigate through the store ... so much crammed into the racks. There are some very good buys, and I've been fortunate to pick up some wonderful shoes there at a reasonable price. Plenty of parking, convenient place ... but I have not had luck over the past year finding items that I was searching for. Either strike gold there ... or nothing. read more

I've lived in the area a long time and have been going to Westfarms for years. I'd never been into Nordstrom Rack until today, as I got a gift card to Nordstrom for my birthday and was in need of a few things. I went in and was immediately overwhelmed. It was a Sunday at about 5:30pm but the store was a total disaster. The purses were everywhere. There were hangers and apparel on the floor. Things stashed all over the place. I just... it was a mess. I went to shoes and it was even worse. Shows were literally all over the place, in the wrong boxes and I couldn't even find the matches. It was kind of unbelieveable. How do they expect anyone to want to buy anything when they can't find a matching pair of shoes? I did find what I was looking for and a cute dress for $23 and the cashier was lovely but I was just... I was so overwhelmed. I guess I can give it another shot earlier in the day and hope it's better? Either way, they have to do something about the condition I saw it in today because it was awful. read more

I went to Nordstrom Rack on a rainy Tuesday afternoon with intentions of looking at their dresses. Oh gosh was I disappointed or what. They had maybe 3 dresses in the formal wear department. Three in awkward sizes and colors. I was so excited about visiting the store but after seeing the dress department I oriented myself to reality and wandered to other parts of the store. Shoes - impressive selection of summer sandals. Some brands I'm not particularly familiar with. I saw a few sandals I wouldn't mind getting but I have wide feet so I have to study each shoe prior to purchasing. I didn't see too many stilettos. Undergarments- Lots of bras none in my size. Underpants were pretty cheap at $3 apiece. Tights- I'm always buying tights and I had to check out their selection. I couldn't browse freely as the sales associate was restocking the area. Similar prices as TJMax. $10 for 3 pairs. Sunglasses - blah you can find cheaper prices at the outlet. I noticed that many of the items here were the lower end items. If you're particular like myself you won't really find much here. There is no way some of the items listed for $290 at retail was ever that price to begin with. Many designers have low - mid and premium collections. Who wants to wear a label simply to wear a label? Not me! If you want real bargains check the sales online. read more

I used to love Nordstrom Rack ..I used to live next door and go everyday...The store is currently full of junk. Now lets talk about customer service there is none...I literally have to get in my car and travel to Natick or Boston because how bad the service is in that store...I havent purchased not one think high end in the past two years. I go right up the street to saks off fifth purchased 3 Prada bags and two Chloe's within 48 hours. Managers there greet me by name and always price adjustments to make the sale...That dirty Nordstrom Rack needs to take lessons from Saks...The whole Nordstrom corporation has horrible reputation on how employees are treated it shows in their service.. read more

This store has such good deals! I always leave with a shopping bag. They have a really nice shoe section with great name brands for an affordable price. I have also purchased goods for my home from here. I have not purchased much for clothes from here but when I have some free time I'm sure I will find something that catches my eye. If you need nice clothes along the lines of what Nordstrom has I would go here first. I LOVE Nordstrom but it is expensive and a lot of the time you can get the exact same items for much cheaper at their Rack location down the street. I am a dedicated Nordstrom customer, always have been. I beyond excited when I found out years ago that a Nordstrom Rack was opening in the greater Hartford area. I attended their grand opening a number of years ago and even proceeded to get a seasonal job there just to keep busy. The Rack has a decent selection of high end goods for both men and women. Although, it tends to be either hit or miss. In my time there I did see plenty of Tory Burch, Burberry, Cole Haan, and other large high end names on the sales floor. It is like that saying, the early bird gets the worm. In this case is very true. There were a group of shoppers who would come in weekly to shop because they knew the shipment date of merchandise and when it was put out on the floor. When The Rack has a sale, they have a real sale. Their annual "Clear The Rack" Sale is something you cannot beat. You receive an addition percentage off of the already reduced clearance prices. If you are a Nordstrom credit or debit card holder, you get double points towards your Nordstrom Notes Rewards! I have never left empty handed from The Rack. My boyfriend is a business analyst and buys 95% of his suits at The Rack. He also loves the variety of men's shoes. He was blown away at the fact he was able to purchase a pair of $250 Cole Haan shoes for $139. The selection and prices will get you every time! read more

There's really no reason to go to Nordstroms anymore. Seriously, there isn't. Last year I started a new job that required me to dress in a 2 piece suit daily. I owned 0 formal wear and this place was a godsend. Calvin Klein silk ties for $14.50 a piece, with the Nordstroms $35.50 price tag still on the back, LOL. Not to mention my mom gets all minds of coupons so I ended up getting 6 ties, a belt, socks, and a pair of pants for $80. Winning. read more

I rarely go shopping because I never find anything I like, but since this Nordstrom Rack has opened I'm always able to find nice, high quality shoes at affordable prices and lately I've been seeing a lot more clothing options that I like too. Most of my clothes are business casual and I've been able to find a lot of shoes for work here. I felt like they didn't have a lot of business casual clothing however recently when I visited I saw a lot more options. Dangerous. Everything is always pretty neat and organized. Service is normally pretty quick. Even though the checkout line can be long at times, they have associates with mobile devices who can check you out at non-register locations if you're just using a card. The men's section is quite small and I've really only noticed a lot of dress shirts and casual t-shirts for men. They also sell a small section of accessories (scarves, watches, costume jewelry, handbags) and scents for men and women as well as makeup and body items like lotions/body washes. I would definitely recommend stopping here especially if you like deals on high quality, high fashion items. read more

I returned to this Nordstrom a few weekends ago and was attacked with ADHD symptoms that flare up from time to time when I am overwhelmingly underwhelmed with my present circumstance. I thought it was possible that my kids blew my high. That also happens from time to time. But no they were being great little obedient creatures that day. After picking over some ok purses and blah jewelry I was just like, "Dude, this is TJ Maxx." Or TJ's stubborn cousin seeing that I don't believe the fugly scarf I seen there was ever $160 and couldn't even imagine someone buying it for the $40 that they asked for it . The racks are certainly more easy to navigate than TJ with all the same clothing items being bunched together, that is certainly a major plus. But I just feel like the wool is being pulled (slowly) off my eyes. This place really isn't all it's cracked up to be and it makes me sad. Oh and the dresses were more hideous than the first time I'd gone.. chocked full of old lady wedding/funeral/graduation multi-purpose dresses. Where is the Tahari? Donna Morgan? Suzi Chin? Those are the dresses that are on the online NR, so where are these dresses coming from? Oh, aha, TJ Maxx. Can you call a store disappointing when it precisely meets the underwhelming preconceived notions you held before setting foot inside its walls? Perhaps we shall never know, but this exactly describes my feelings towards West Farms's newest anchor store. Big points for the store disguising itself as something more than a secondhand clothing outlet, which it is. Clearly the staff works hard to keep the store organized and navigable, eliminating that terrible feeling that you've arrived at a glorified rummage sale. I'll go to TJ Maxx next door if I ever get that hankering... But the experience suffers once you start looking at the pricetags. I picked up a nice dress shirt in my size, one I might have liked to take home. The price? 70 dollars, reduced from an ALLEGED original price of 200. I mean, I really couldn't care less that Nordstrom has somehow connived a discount of 65% out of all this... all I know is that 70 dollars is a lot of freakin' money for a men's dress shirt. There were no dress shirts available for less than 25 dollars, for the record. Ties are no less expensive than 15. The stuff they have is nice, but be prepared to pay decent money for it. Kinda sucks the magic out of it when you can go next door to JC Penney and get similar quality clothing for basically the same price. read more

This store sucks for mens items. The brands carried are on par with TJ Maxx. About the highest end brand, you will find is Boss, and that's not saying much. Otherwise it's always Joe's, Diesel and Levis. They seriously had Davidoff Cool Water in the cologne section. I thought I was in Big Lots for a minute. Save your time, if you're a guy, and looking for higher end fashion forward items. You would probably have better luck at TJ Maxx or Marshalls. Instead go to the Racks in White Plains or Flushing. The only saving grace is the staff is super friendly, helpful and accommodating. I've decided this is the last time I waste my time here. read more

Prices are much better for luggage, suits, dress shirts, ties and shoes. In fact, I have only been buying my shoes there lately since they have so many styles. Only cheaper places would be outlets. Good customer service. I only give it 3 stars because on things like jeans and undershirts and other things like that, I can't really see the savings. I went in specifically hoping to find my favorite brand of jeans that Nordstrom carries, and I totally lucked out! They had several varieties of Jolt jeans, for about $10 less than at Nordstrom. I was elated. I also picked up several gorgeous, quality statement necklaces for my best friend's birthday. Since I was in the market for those two specific items, I didn't really get as far deep into the store as I would have liked, but I cannot wait to go back. Hit or miss just like any discount store. BUT there are some really good finds. I would go to look for new shoes: NOT to look for a hot pink stacked heel with bow accents. - that's what department stores (like real Nordstrom) are for. love the helpfulness of employees and the checkout anywhere in the store with an e-receipt. note: the shoe racks give limited visibility to the bottom racks from my 5 foot height. - be sure to squat down to get a better view and lookout for clearance racks. wish it was closer to me! read more

I had been meaning to visit this store on a weekday in the near future to avoid crowds but today I actually wound up here by accident--I intended to go to the TJ Maxx in the same plaza and realized--Nordstrom Rack was a few doors down...so..sorry TJ's, I had to check this out. After visiting though I have to say--its not completely comparable to TJ Maxx-there are a lot more upscale brands here than at TJ's/Marshalls. For example, instead of the Ralph Lauren labels being leftovers from the outlet store, there were actual Lauren labels here. It was a Saturday so I took a deep breath and braced myself for the crowds. The crowds actually prevented me from getting near the shoe area--its the entire back end of the store. I wasn't really able to see much back there so I can't really comment on it. I'm really into sunglasses--and there were several racks of big name glasses right infront of the door--"Its a sign!!!" It really excited me that they were right there on the rack-not behind glass, which-while smart security wise, is frustrating when you're in a crowded place with limited staff (I don't want to say their staff was necessarily limited though, I didn't require any assistance). Anyway they had Coach, Gucci, Fendi, YSL, David Yurman and a few others--so exciting! I love Gucci and Fendi sunglasses especially so I was psyched-all pairs were under $90, no more ebay for me! I also spent several minutes in the accessory area--they had a lot of ladies watches, very nice earrings and a lot of straw hats! I got my Mom a really pretty Anne Klein watch, it was $25--which is on par with TJ's/Marshalls but they had a much better selection. I also saw a bunch of OPI nail polishes--in fun colors, not just red/pink, but they were retail price. I was disappointed in the handbag selection though, no exciting labels :/ They had some un-interesting Calvin Klein bags but other than that, very "meh". This surprised me. I made my way towards the back but as I mentioned the crowds were even more intimidating back there and I'm plus size so I didn't really feel like fighting the crowds to dig for possibly non-existant clothes (I'm not really a clothing person, I would rather spend my time on accessories....like SUNGLASSES, lol). The clothes are nice and they will have you lookin' fly, But at the end of the day the prices are still high. If you're a guy, just come here for the shoes, Or if you have a bunch of time that you want to lose. $100+ for a shirt on Clearance is not a good deal. I don't care what the brand is. I have never found anything here worth buying for the price except shoes. There is a decent selection of footwear, but it's not well organized and you could spend a long time going through the aisles trying to find the style you need. The clearance footwear oftentimes has defects, so really look at what you're buying. I guess I'm more of a TJ Maxx kinda guy, but if you like high-end fashion, come on down. read more

Honestly, it is really hard to give an accurate review of a store on its grand opening. It is like reviewing a business on the night of Black Friday; picked over merchandise, crazy shoppers, an overabundance of estrogen, messy racks, and long lines. Nordstrom Rack has potential and a lot of it. They carry a great selection of sunglasses from Tom Ford, Kate Spade, Cole Haan, Ray-Ban, Gucci, Coach, and Yves Saint Laurent. The sunglasses department is the highlight of the store. I am impressed with their pashmina-liked scarves and floral gauze scarves; many of which are priced between $10 and $15. The handbag department is a little disappointing, but again, I was the store at 8:30 p.m., so all the premium handbags were probably sold out. The shoe department highlights were some classic flats from Cole Haan and Calvin Klein as well as some wild, sparkly heels by Badgley Mischka. I saw some inexpensive shoes from Me Too and Jessica Simpson. Since I have wide feet, I was out of-l\uck finding a pair. I did not invest time in clothing because I was too lazy, but I am forwarding to trying some dresses the next time I'm there. I would have been sold if there was a petite department. They were a lot of cute spring dresses available. I will come back after the stampede and write another review.
