Both had masks on!) He promptly furnished a quote (he was the second to bid, and was the middle of the three bids). What convinced me to go with them was this: When they came to review the job, I had a reference sheet from City of Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety...and Mark said that they build to a much higher standard, and described including more rebar than the city requires, etc. He also talked about specifically matching the existing wall. His priorities seemed to match ours. Mark had said that they would be showing up at 7AM on the appointed day, and texted me at 7 to tell me that they would be 10 minutes late. I really appreciated that, as I had recently used a contractor who showed up when they chose to show up. Wall Brothers is clearly client-focused. Mark said that the job would be 3-4 days, and it was done in under 3. New wall matches the existing wall (and it's not a standard concrete block size) well. Crew was friendly and accessible throughout the job. There was a small miscommunication that was quickly corrected without incident, another measure of a good firm. Finally, each day, the crew left the site cleaned up. When the job was completed, one of the crew remained to clean up the site, and other than the new wall, you would not know a construction crew had been here this week! I'm entirely comfortable referring Wall Brothers Construction for their concrete/masonry work, and will certainly be calling them again as needed. Our wall was damaged via a car accident driven by our neighbor (please see before and after pictures attached). Early in the process, Renee was quick to provide a high level quote via a zoom call. Then Edgar came to my house to observe the damage and provided a detailed quote. There was a cap on how much the insurance company was paying so Edgar worked with his team to give us additional discounts in order to reduce the amount of money our neighbor would have to pay out of pockets. Their prices were lower than two other companies so the $97 inspection fee was credited. The construction team included Chayan, Francisco, Leo, Gabrino, Joe , Fernando and Juan, and they all were professional, meticulous, courteous and operated safety. Francisco, Edgar and Chayan accommodated the higher quality bricks that we chose without nickel and dime us and our neighbor. The team communicated progress well and cleaned up the area at the end of each day. I feel this company is ethical, provides superior work and services to its customers at lower prices. I called The Right Choice for an estimate to remove the wood siding from our two story house and…read morereplace it with stucco. I didn't really want stucco. I wanted river rock on the entire front of the house, upstairs and down, but figured it was out of our reach. Leo came to give the estimate and in the course of conversation, this came out. He took a look and within minutes showed me how possible it was for us to do the river rock. They removed the wood siding, placed a river rock veneer on the entire front of the house, painted the rest of the house and trim, demolished my concrete walkway and flower bed and replaced it with a new front porch made of pavers and cut a path through the grass to give us a walkway with steps down to the sidewalk. Leo has been amazing to work with. He really went above and beyond. I had some anxiety through the process because we were spending a lot of money and I wanted it to be perfect. He communicated with me on an almost daily basis and each conversation calmed my anxiety. They brought samples of rock and paint swatches. When we narrowed the paint colors to our final choices, Leo had the painters paint large swatches on the back of the house so we could see how the colors would really look. We were also able to hold the rocks up to the paint colors to see the various combinations. Our front porch light had to come off temporarily. I asked if I bought a new one could they put that one up instead. This was no problem. I wanted to replace the lights on the back patio as well, but it turned out they didn't need to remove them to do the painting. Leo told me to buy the lights I wanted and they would replace them at no extra charge. When it was time to put my old doorbell back on, I regretted that I hadn't asked if I could replace the door bell, but I didn't ask because I figured it was too late. Before they put the old one back on, Leo thought to ask if I wanted a new doorbell. He suggested the Ring one with the camera. I didn't know what to get, so he found one on Amazon, sent the link and I bought it. I didn't know how to set it up on the app on my phone, so Leo did it for me. Jorge, who was in charge of the rock work and pavers was also amazing. He told me he tries to put as much care into the customer's home as he would on his own. I found him to be true to his word. His workers paid attention to detail and cleaned up after themselves every day. They were polite and respectful. At the end of the job, I came home from work as one of the workers was cleaning up. I believe his name was Arnulmo. He was hosing off our roof. I mentioned there was rain in the forecast. He told me that was why he was washing the roof off. There was dirt and dust up there from the cement. He said rain would wash it down and make a mess. He was washing it down so he could clean up the mess. The experience of working with this company was a good one. Leo did everything he said he would do, and then some. I highly recommend this company.

Finding a reliable, trustworthy and reasonably priced tradesperson is really challenging these days…read morebut they are out there. Pineda's Masonry is one of those that are out there and I'm glad that I was able to hire Victor and his company to fix my damaged wall. The quote I received from them wasn't the least expensive but it was far from being the most expensive and landed right about in the middle of all the other quotes. However, the quote from Pineda's was detailed with what work was going to be done, the area that was going to be worked on and the scope of work listed wasn't creating far more work than necessary given that it was a 50+ yr old brick wall that survived major earthquakes and was only damaged because a careless driver drove into it. When Victor and his crew did the job, they were neat and thorough in their work. The area that was worked on was swept clean and all residue from the demolition of the damaged wall was undetectable and the broken brick was taken away the same day. Once the mortar for the repaired wall had dried and there was no rain in the forecast, they finished by putting the colored smooth stucco. All in all, my experience was very positive from getting the quote all the way up to the completion. Victor did a good job of communicating the process and timeframe and set reasonable expectations which were all met. Highly recommended!
