Frank was recommended by a general contractor friend of mine. His line was something to the effect of 'if you want somebody who really knows houses and didn't just take a class...'. He was right - Frank delivered. This was my first time buying a home and Frank gave me a full education in terms I could easily understand. He was extremely professional, thorough, and knowledgeable. The report provided afterward was incredibly in depth and illustrative of his findings. As a result of this inspection, I was able to get money from the seller to fix a couple items that would have caused future problems. If there is anything currently wrong, or soon to go wrong, Frank will find it. The other aspect I really appreciated was his help in laying out a game plan. I walked away knowing what must be fixed immediately, what should be fixed in the short term, and what to monitor/upgrade in the future. We picked Frank based on good yelp reviews and he exceeded our expectations. He was available for our pre-purchase inspection the next morning and provided us with a detailed, thorough report within a couple of hours. When there was significant water damage from the water heater just before our closing date (Frank had recommended replacing the water heater since it was beyond service life), we wanted Frank to re-inspect the property after the seller did the repairs- Frank was again available at a short notice; he did a thorough, complimentary re-inspection of the repaired/damaged area and pointed out some deficiencies that still needed to be fixed to us. He also provided us with an additional report based on his findings within an hour. Frank was on time on both occasions, answered all our questions and did a detailed, thorough inspection. Frank Olson showed up in the pouring rain ready to get the job done. I met him for the first time as he prepared to embark on a long day of inspection for two houses and a large shed. At the end of the day, we reviewed all of his findings and I was shocked at the level of detail that he went to in making sure we understood all that was good about our homes and all that needed attention. He found many little things to be attended to that I never would have seen or I would have dismissed them as being unimportant. His explanations were excellent. Frank has a very friendly personality and his attention to detail make him someone that, had he been a doctor, would have described him as having an excellent bedside manner. I used Olsen Inspections for two home inspections and was completely satisfied with the work and attention to detail Frank provides. The first home was a new construction home and Frank called out a structural issue that helped me decide against buying. Yes, you need an inspection for a new construction home, they are not perfect. The second home was a complete gut and remodel and once again Frank provided a thorough inspection and made my decision easy to buy the home. Highly knowledgeable and professional, quick turnaround both in getting an appointment and the report, well-documented and thorough, with pix and icons that mark the level of concern about the issue and specific recommendations for repair or upgrade. He documented even minor concerns just for "FYI," and was pleasant to deal and explained things to the buyer in clear language throughout the four-hour inspection. Especially noteworthy: Frank took a lot of cautions and was very careful with the owners' property, to make sure his inspection didn't even leave a trace of his presence (e.g. took his shoes off when entering the property, used a probe instead of trying to stick an arm into tight spaces).
