Horrible service. Horrible waste of our time. Friday morning the angle stop under our kitchen sink blew off and started leaking. We shut off the water to the house and called Annica to which she stated they could come out Monday, then said hold on maybe Raul can come by today. And he did, but when he arrived he said he didn't have the part and refused to go get it. He left us high and dry. Literally no water for the weekend. Annika then said over the phone, i can send someone out Monday to make this right. Monday came and we waited 4 hours for them to show. No customer service, they didnt answer the phone. Nothing. we finally got ahold of Raul 4 hours after they were scheduled to arrive and he told us they weren't coming the job was to small. i have no words for this. This clearly is no longer a company that cares about their customer. Maybe they changed owners. I know that is often the case when things change for the worse as happened on December 13, 2023. In my case I used this company for at least 10 years , probably even longer. They were always my go to rooter company until December 13. I even had their business magnet on my fridge. I called on December 13 because the master bedroom toilet backed up intermittently and the shower didn't drain well. We last had the exact problem on March 10, 2021. (See invoice). At that time they were efficient and knowledgeable. They were at my home for less than 20 minutes. That was over 2 and a half years ago with no problems until 12/13/2023. Also at that time they used the 2 inch snake from the clean out by the master bedroom. No song and dance that there is no guarantee if they use that as there was on/12/13. The earlier invoice says it's guaranteed. Mission accomplished. At that time just like on December 13 the only problem was that bathroom and not the one in the hallway and we told the technician on 12/13 that so he was well aware of the scope of the problem . I think it was Cesar but not certain. Fast forward from 2021 to 12/13/23.(see invoice) I called and spoke with at that time a helpful scheduler. Told her the problem. They came out timely but unfortunately that's when the problem started. I'll call him Cesar. He asked if we had a 4 inch clean out. I showed him the one they used successfully in 21 thinking it was 4 inch because there was no problem using it in 21 and the work was guaranteed.(see 2021invoice).He told me it was only 2 inches and if he used the 2 inch machine there was no guarantee at all for the work. Hearing that and of course wanting the work to be guaranteed I was confused so I thought they must have used the four inch clean out in front of the house. I showed him that but he said it was not a two way so it wouldn't work. Meanwhile the clock is ticking apparently on my dime because he said no guarantee with 2 inch and that confused me because it was successful in 21. He told me they could only guarantee the work if they removed the toilet. I agreed. He was going to do that but fortunately he informed me that was a problem because of the floor or something and a concern it would not be okay when it was put back. of course he wanted me to know they would not be responsible. It was actually good I was told that otherwise things would be much worse.I told him that not knowing the 21 service at that time and asked him to call the office because I really didn't know why this was such a huge deal and taking so much time. Never a problem before.He caused this crazy time consuming "wild goose chase"He called and that took more time. Was told this was last done in 2016 which was wrong. Anyway I finally said just use the 2 inch one without the guarantee. And since I'm already paying the extra $45 for the w/ 2 inch one( which was not the h case in 21) go ahead and use 4 inch from front lawn clean out to sewer line even though there was no problem but just for maintenance since you are here and I'm paying for the machine already. Oh- he also wasted more time and charged me for an estimate on creating a 2 way clean out. I was happy to know that but not happy to learn all this time wasting would cost me $115 for an extra hour, when the actual work I including using the 4 inch snake for maintenance took not much more than 1/2 hour. I left at 1:30 for a doctor appointment just as they were starting with the 2 inch without the guarantee. They left at 2:05. I was charged for two hours for 1/2 hour of work which they should have done when they walked in my home. They created the confusion wasted time and then charged me for it. They should have completed this job by 12:50, 1:00 at the latest if they just did what was successfully done in 21 for the exact same problem. What they are doing by having me pay for their confusion is not right or fair. Especially from a business I trusted for more than a decade. I called the office to discuss this and asked to speak with a supervisor because of a problem. She said she could handle it so I told her , only to basically hear in a nice sweet voice of course, tough luck it's your fault. She didn't actually say that but that is what was meant.?I wasn't happy with that response so she said she would tell her surperviser and I should put my complaint in writing. I Just wanted to talk to someone who had the authority and common sense to do the appropriate thing and refund me for 1 hour because I did not cause the time wasting. She said they would call. They never did so I did put my complaint in writing after all as a one star Yelp review. read more

Olson's Rooter Service Rocks! I've used them for years as I live in a 1925 house with old pipes that regularly get blocked with roots. I had a major problem over the weekend -- none of my drains were actually draining. I called them on Monday morning, left a message and Wendy called me back immediately to schedule an appointment. She said the plumbers would arrive between 9am and 11am. Cesar & Rafael arrived at 9am on the dot! They were friendly, knowledgeable, skilled and efficient. Within an hour, all of my sinks were draining beautifully! I couldn't be more pleased or grateful. Great job, great service, great company. Never again. A few years ago this was a good company with good service. Joni would call me for the routine maintenance. They did their work unsupervised. No problems. Then the calls stopped. The office got sloppy. The tone got snippy - like everything was a big favor. The last straw -- they cleaned out the wrong line, left a mess of sewage by the door to my guest room and wanted me to pay to clean it up. Eight calls and many days later they agreed to do it free. When I got the bill for the first job I discovered they charged me for two hours instead of the usual one. It doesn't take a genius to figure that one out. Goodbye Olsons. Never again. read more

I have a 1940's business building with original galvanized water supply lines that were still intact and functioning OK until August 2015. Developed a water leak under the concrete driveway one early morning and called Olson's Rooter (formerly Butchs Old Time Plumbing) and they came out same day in the afternoon to check it out. I already knew if a problem like this developed, I was going to be in for a somewhat major repair. Raul first offered a simple repair of the original line where it was leaking, but after discussing repiping options with him, I decided to go with all new Copper lines. He started that afternoon, and came back next day with 3 other workers and finished up the job in the late afternoon. For the most part it was all a simple, exposed pipe installation (other than under the concrete), but by the looks of the connections, quality fittings, and cleanliness of the finished product, it is a very professional and well done job. Most plumbing is completely hidden behind walls and such, so it was nice to see such quality work throughout. All good Plumbers are expensive, but not all of them are as reputable as Olson's. His bill was commensurate with the job, and I was not over-billed on the labor hours (I kept track too). I am very pleased and would recommend them highly! read more

We awoke on April 12 to discover that we had a classic slab leak where our aging galvanized water supply pipe to the house had failed, The first vendor who came to survey the site quoted $27,000. Honestly. $27,000. They also said it would take 5-7 days and result in a great deal of concrete being jack hammered and the destruction of our vegetable planters. The second vendor quoted about $11,000. Luckily me neighbor across the street recommended Olson's as he had used them before on several occasions. Although it was now late in the day, Raul from Olson's came over, surveyed what needed to be done, assured us he could easily burrow under a concrete area that vendor #1 was going to decimate, have it done in 2.5 days once he started....and all for 1/5th the price of vendor #1. Uh,.....wow. In the, Raul and his team were great: prompt, meticulous, gracious, and extremely nice. When my wife had a question about where the leak may have been coming from they went under the house to assure here that it was not there, but they DID find that our kitchen sink drain PVC was ruptured. They repaired that piece and snaked the drain.....and that never appeared on their bill). We also asked them to please upgrade our sprinkler control supply form PVC to copper. That work was thorough and exacting and made far better than I had imagined. They handled all permits and inspections, provided copies of all documents and were consummate professionals throughout the entire project. Joanna was so incredibly unhelpful and Ceasar, the technician​ was way late even after his two-hour​ window (12-2 and they call and say he'll be here hopefully by 4!). They don't really seem to care to much about customer service and being respectful of my time. I had to call the office three times and was met with the same indifference even with being two hours late. I cancelled the service and will NEVER depend on them again. We had used Olson's regularly for years and were very pleased with the service. Recently we had two back ups in just over a month. Olsons told us that the pipes were getting old and we agreed. They came out with a camera (not cheap) to confirm and take measurements for new piping. For some reason, they just never gave us a quote for the required work. We called multiple times asking for a quote, but nothing. The irony is that we weren't even going to get multiple quotes as we trusted them. Business must be good. read more

Wendy in the office was very friendly - gave us a quote and informed us that a technician would be there within the hour.
