Updating my original review years later because we ended up needing Mick again today for another plumbing issue at one of our family properties. We had a sewer backup issue affecting the back unit/ADU while also dealing with separate toilet issues in the front house. Mick responded quickly, diagnosed both problems efficiently, and got everything resolved the same day. The front house issue turned out to be worn toilet flappers from normal wear and tear. The back unit issue was a main line grease buildup/clog that required drain clearing and camera inspection work. He performed a gas pressure test, identified multiple leaks, and clearly explained the situation along with upfront pricing. Mick and Giovanni at Right Price Rooter & Plumbing truly SAVED me in an emergency -- not once, but twice --and they went above and beyond to deliver first-class plumbing service when I most needed them. I had owned a home in LA for many years and engaged various plumbers over that time, but when I needed to replace my earthquake gas shut-off valve with new unit in preparing my condo for sale, I searched specifically for a licensed and insured *gas* plumber and Right Price Rooter and Plumbing was the best reviewed one on Yelp. Our scope:After two root clogs in our main sewer and camera inspections we realized we were beyond flushing root killer every month and needed to replace the clay  pipe. Summary: RPR was 1 of 3 companies that we found most trustworthy, straightforward, and communicative. The owner Mick, and his team Gio, Andy, Nico and Oscar treated this project with pride and quality as if it was at their own house, or for their parents. They also approach the cost of the project as if they were paying for it, making sure you should only pay for what you really need (faith in humanity restored!). Takeaway: anyone with a plumbing project, should at least call Mick and team for a quote/advice, I'm confident you will benefit from reaching out to them. Details:After a no pressure camera inspection, Mick offered a couple approaches where we could replace the 4" clay pipe under our yard and he'd hydrojet the 6" pipe leading to the city, and would advise if we needed to put a liner it after inspecting it, which could save us some money on this large project. All the other companies said we should do the whole scope, so appreciated the honesty and sensitivity in making sure we got the best value for this  The team performed replacement via a pipe burst method (videos for those curious). Which was minimally invasive and gave us peace of mind for longevity.They actually also poured the slab back better than it was before. After hydrojetting the last segment, Mick gave his honest opinion, that I could probably go without putting a liner in the last segment, but since there were roots in there originally, he said they'd likely come back, but we'd be good for a while, and he would not charge us for digging up the hole in the future if we changed our mind. We ended up having the liner placed in the last segment, we figured if you have a quality crew there, just have them do the work now.  Overall, very good experience for a major plumbing project for us. I just got off the phone with Mick, who saw a picture of my concrete patio with my clay sewer pipes underneath it. I thought a large tree root nearby was causing cracks in my patio, which could eventually damage my clay pipes. Mick mentioned that he is also a structural engineer and said the patio cracks were caused by the concrete used back in the day, not by tree roots. So my clay pipes should be fine and do not need to be replaced. What a relief! I truly appreciate Mick's expert assessment and genuine honesty. He could have convinced me to replace the clay pipes anyway to get my business, but he took the higher, honest road. That is worth five stars in my book. Fernando Z. was great compared to the plumbers I'd seen previously! I had two problems: a root clogged main sewer drain, and leaky drainage pipes. First Fernando did a serious diagnosis. He crawled underneath the house, found a leak and took pictures. Then he gave me a reasonable estimate for unclogging the sewer pipe. It was less than the previous plumbers were asking for just a diagnosis!! So of course I agreed. He did a very thorough job, running the high power drain cleaner twice all the way to the city sewer pipe. Odor and sewage backing up problem solved for the time being. Then Fernando showed me the root problem by running a pro grade pipe cam down the drainage pipe. He also used a device to find the exact spot where the roots were growing into the pipe. See attached photos. Permanently fixing the root problem will require more work, because a drain clean cannot remove the roots and prevent them from growing back. But based on what Mick told me, I'm almost certain I'll go with RPR's proposal for a permanent fix! read more

We were notified by the water company that our usage had spiked and we might have a leak. Our regular plumber was fully booked, so I reached out to Right Price Rooter and was quickly helped by Mick. He sent Fernando out to check for a leak, then walked us through how to shut off the toilet valves to help pinpoint the issue. We left them off overnight, and when the water company returned in the morning, they confirmed there was no more water flowing and gave us tablets to test the toilets. We identified the source of the leak, called Mick, and Giovanni arrived shortly after. He was fantastic--explained everything clearly, showed me what was wrong and what he replaced, and had our home (with three kids!) back in working order. It was a stressful situation--losing 210 gallons of water right before the long 4th of July weekend--but this team made a tough moment much easier. The sewer line was getting backed up, i had got a hydrojet service from a different vendor and upon the camera inspection they found that there were roots growing in the pipe. they gave me a quote for the repair but i wanted to shop around first. I had a great experience working with Right Price. I have a 100 year old house with a 100 year old sewer. It had been consistently backing up with disgusting stinky sewage coming up into our yard. Absolutely vile. We've had several other companies come out and do patch repairs at insane prices, only to have it clog up again a month or so later. It was finally time to replace the main line all the way to the middle of the street. Right Price came out immediately, super friendly, with a much better quote than any of the other companies. Honestly, I still can't believe how expensive plumbing is, but Right Price was much better than the competition. We also had a tricky project because we have big ficus hedges that have grown around the sewer. George and Nicholas, our technicians, worked tirelessly over a week to fix it up. We had to wait a bit for the city inspectors to come and finalize it, which meant we had a mess of dirt in our frontyard. They actually came with a truck, and moved out all the dirt by hand, just so we could use our driveway until the inspector arrived. That is amazing service.
