We were on the hunt for some local smoked salmon to take home with us to Arizona. This was our spot! We were able to get just the amount we wanted and packed along with a bag of ice for the road. Very local, friendly vibes. My mom lives in the area and has purchased their crab cakes before for us, soooo good! They had a small pantry of dried/canned goods for sale in addition to the fresh seafood case. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area. Great souvenirs! read more

Great seafood market! This is definitely my go to when needing some fresh seafood and not having the time to put our boat in the water and go earn it! LOL The fish and seafood is always fresh and reasonably priced! Typically grab their sushi grade ahi tuna and salmon offerings! Oysters, clams, and mussels are always top tier too! Often grab some of their New England style clam chowder to go along with whatever I'm making. Have had some of their pre-made crab cakes, and those are very good as well. Went in for Dungeness Crab, they had a great selection of crab, Beautiful large shrimp, petrale sole.. you name it, they had it. Great customer service, greeted right away, cracked & cleaned crab, even bagged it with ice bags. I love that they had pretty much everything you would need for a dinner party, a date -they had local ice cream, clam chowder, soup, cocktail sauce, fresh lemons, they even had baguettes and flower bouquets -men. This would be the perfect date if you're cooking dinner for your lady. They thought of it all here. Very clean. I would highly recommend coming here for your fresh catch. read more

All their seafood is fresh and tasty. The recipes they offer have always been excellent, as well. We go there about every other week and load up on delicious items. Crab cakes are our favorite, but the tuna patties are also great, and so is the salmon. read more

I love their new location because it is even closer to where I live! Score! I always come here to get whatever I want in terms of seafood. They also have many options for ready to eat dishes as well. They make their own chowder, tartar sauce and so many other options! Today my friend Jill and I went there because they advertised their Lobster Fries. They aren't any lobster fries though, the cheese sauce is seasoned and the fries are also seasoned so they are not bland at all! So tasty. Well since I am from the midwest it is easy to give 5 stars to this local Olympia seafood vendor store. We just have nothing like this back home. Was very impressed by the fresh assortment of amazing seafood I literally wanted to buy and try everything. Sadly I only needed one meals worth of appetizers so we bought the large scallops and already cooked cocktail shrimp. The scallops were great and cooked up nicely for our dinner. This isn't a restaurant, it's a fish store. They're my go to fish monger. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The locations are clean there's no weird "fishy" smells. Both have live tanks for crab, which depends on luck as to the quantity. It's family owned and they've got a weekly posting of all their fish. They've always got a special and they always have a recipe with it. They sell "kits" to go with their special so it's really easy to make. But you're always welcome to just do it yourself. Last night I got their swordfish special. I looked at their recipe on the posting and sort of winged it. I didn't like my own special sauce, but the fish was delicious. I frequently buy clams and steam them. Clams and some good bread make a good meal. It's fast, easy and delicious! I've also bought their finnan haddie (it's a British thing). I don't have it too often because of the cost, but it's a guilty pleasure. And it's not available anywhere else locally. They also recently began making their own Manhattan Clam Chowder (my favorite). I tried it and it's delicious! They now have two storea one in Olympia, downtown and one in Tumwater. read more

I only came here to grab some clam chowder not to buy seafood. The clam chowder was tasty but not OMG or spectacular. This is a seafood company so there isn't a place to sit inside. Not a big deal as there are lots of benches outside near the docks. Later that day I decided to try some chowder at another place near there located in the weekly farmers market. It was better but still not the best. (The best I've had so far are in Seattle) But for a quick, inexpensive cup of chowder this place is pretty good. read more

We stopped in to pick up fish for dinner on our drive home from Seattle to Oregon. The fish selection was fabulous. Everything behind the counter was perfectly fresh and tempting. I have rated them top notch but yesterday, Thursday, was another story... A couple of customers was going over some seafood behind the glass case with staff while I just grabbed a pre-made serving of dunginous crab meat to take home & went straight to the register, and stood there while a couple staff just walked by, stood right in front of me doing busy work while I waited patiently with the container to purchase in my hand, then finally acknowledged me & asked if I needed anything. He did apologize after ringing me up but really, what the hell... Don't know what was going on near the Olympia waterfront, 2nd of 2 places where service counter blew me off, did not walk in with an attitude or expectation of instant response or reception, and thought I looked presentable enough, but perhaps not good enough. Have noticed in the past some of the better known businesses in the Olympia area carry an air about their reputation & clientele but did not know it still goes on, & especially post-covid I try promoting local business support including the waterfront & downtown but maybe they are selective or profile who they want to serve. also had to deal with some rude tourists down the pier up on the tower looking over the sound, was having a peaceful snack sitting down with a view of the Olympics & water watching the sailboats & they came up the stairs & stood at the rail right in front of me & another person sitting down blocking our view... read more

Disappointing. We were having salmon for our Christmas dinner. We wanted something special other than long frozen supermarket salmon. My wife talked to the people there and ordered a 1 pound King salmon fillet to feed two. Conveniently, we could pick it up on Christmas Eve so it would be very fresh. I picked up the salmon . It was already wrapped. When I got home and unwrapped it, I found there indeed was one pound - a very large chunk on one end and a skinny fillet on the remaining 90% of the pound. The prortions were such that the presentation would be weird ("Here, you get the flat skinny piece and I get the big chunk. Merry Christmas"). In addition the cooking time for the thin piece and chunk would be greatly different. Something wasn't going to turn out right. And for this I paid $35? Humbug! Off to the super market to get more salmon. My advice? Inspect before you pay. read more

It's okay. I stopped to grab some stuff for dinner. First the people are great service is fast. However the clam chowder was under seasoned. - this seems to be a trend in Washington. We do not know how to season things here like we do in the south. The shrimp did not taste fresh. I came home and cooked it. It decent sized. However, did not taste like it was pulled out of the water any time soon. The salmon dip was cream cheese. There was 3 smoked pieces of salmon. Really disappointed. Because I smoke my own salmon, and catch it. And make my own salmon dip. And this place charges me for a container of cream cheese. That's a hate crime. I hated it. The scallops were good. New to Washington, New to understanding types of fish. We stopped in with the intent to buy several different items to try. We walked out with only 2 items. The silver salmon and the cod. I wanted to buy at least 4 other items. However, the clerk seemed bothered by having to help us. Other customers were friendly and had no issue with us looking around. I love the store all the options to choose from, but what was the point when we didn't get what we wanted because we weren't regulars. We are so truly lucky to have this fantastic seafood market right in Olympia. Every time I go, I am treated as a valued customer. They are spot on with covid precautions and take the regulations seriously. Sometimes there is a wait to get in as it is a popular spot to get delicious seafood, but the line moves quickly. You can also call ahead to have your order ready for you for pick up if you know what you want and don't want to stand in line. They have a great selection of seafood, dips, sauces, and various items for fish and seafood dishes. I love there true cod and steamers the best. OH and the smoked salmon seafood dip is too die for. Clam chowder is the only thing lacking imo. I would expect a lot more for a seafood company but that's ok, they do everything else right.
