Great small business. Meat is very good and reasonable. They also offer a nice selection of premade food for you to cook at home. Taco asada is my favorite. Freshly made carnitas is worth the trip on Saturday and Sunday. Store is small but has a good selection of products. Staff is nice and attentive. Love this place. read more

I've been coming here for 4 years now and I just love this place. Great people, great service, excellent choices of fresh meats available and if they don't have it (rarely) they can get it for you. It's a Mexican style grocery with all the spices, sides, sweets, and drinks from home. They speak English but haven't made fun of my Highschool Spanish, it's a great spot to chat and grab awesome cuts of meat. I love this place. read more

I had my brother, who is a Sheltonian of 35+ years, swing in here after striking out on any decent cuts of meat from the Fred Meyer store in town, to find something to BBQ while I was visiting. He had never been in this store. Living in SoCal I told him I've found that many of the Mexican meat markets generally have some good stuff. We were not disappointed, as they had an array of meats to choose from at competitive prices (if not cheaper) than what we had looked at at FM. I selected a large rib eye and a medium sized tri-tip (trimmed) steak. They were about as fresh as can be and I wondered if they were butchering cattle behind closed doors. I did not ask, so maybe so. At minimum they must be slicing and dicing sides of beef and pork back there. YUM! They had vegetables, fruits and miscellaneous Mexican staples, but I did not bother to closely check them out. I came here for one thing - the MEAT. Had I been visiting longer I think I would have returned and picked up some of their marinated carne asada to try. The employees (one might have been the owner) were friendly; and yes they spoke English. If you are looking to whip up a Mexican meal I think you will find everything you need here (but don't hold me to it). If you are looking for meat, poultry or seafood this place has you covered and I recommend you check it out, unless FM or Walmart covers your needs. Unless, of course, there are other meat markets / butcher shops around town I'm unaware of and you fins satisfaction there. read more

Maybe fine for meat, practically NO SEAFOOD OR SHELLFISH. Went there in Feb 2024 looking for salmon, rockfish, halibut, oysters -- basically anything fresh and local. There was nothing except one filet of frozen cod on display, and maybe some tilapia and shrimp, the latter did not look very fresh. The photographs on their instagram are an entirely different store. There are NO tanks of running water with shelffish. There are NO vast assortments of fresh fish on piles of new ice. It's either a fake site run by somebody else, or intentional false advertising. We came a long way to check this place out and were very disappointed. It's a mexican butcher shop. Call it what it is. read more

Two words, Carne Asada. YUM. The best I have had from a meat store like this. I stopped in here based off yelp reviews and I am glad I did. I wished I lived in town because this would be my new go to store for meat. Everything was fresh and delicious. They marinate their meats in delicious sauce that doesn't have sugar or is packed with a bunch of crappy ingredients. I loved everything I purchased there except for the guacamole. It tasted sour and I think it was old. I threw it away :( Decent prices too. read more

Went for my first, and will be my last visit. Bought dog bones and two petite sirloin steaks. Did not watch him pick the steaks out, did not think I would need to, wrong! One was fine the other should have been cut up for stew meat. read more

Rivera's recently opened and they have great meats and shellfish along with other grocery items. The prices are very reasonable and the store is super clean inside. The owner/butcher is very friendly and helpful! Currently, their open every day. Now, down to the good stuff. They have Beef, Pork, Chicken, Fish, Shellfish, Duck, Rabbit, Eggs, Hot Dogs, Tamales, and other grocery items. Frozen and fresh items available. I grilled up the Rib Eye steaks I bought from them tonight and the quality of meat didn't disappoint. I believe the price was around 7.49 a lbs and their cut was close to 2 inches thick each. Delicious! They sell sides of beef too, and are currently taking Prime Rib orders for the holidays, order by the pound. I purchased 3 Rib Eyes, 3 NY steaks, 2lbs of Applewood smoked thick cut bacon, 1lbs of pork breakfast sausage, and a fresh Steelhead Filet for under 100 bucks! I feel their prices are very reasonable. They have King Crab legs for 19.99 a pound, which is 10 bucks cheaper than Pikes in Seattle. The Oysters are 8.99 for a dozen. They also have prawns, shrimp, bay and sea scallops, and the steamer clams are 5.99 a pound. They will also season anything you wish, and have some pre-spiced cuts and meatloaf. The meat locker prices are good too! Going to buy one of those combos next month. Great place, will be going back on a regular basis. read more

I've been going here since they opened and at the time only sold meats. In the past few weeks I've watched this nice little meat market transition into more of a Hispanic food quick stop similiar to the one we already have downtown. The quality of meats offered has suffered in this transition as well. Everything used to look so fresh and inviting but my last visit I saw fajita meat swimming in old water with brown onions, chicken and steaks turning color. They had a good thing going when the idea was just a butcher shop but sadly cramming shelves upon shelves of other items has taken the attention away from the freshness of the past. It wasn't broke so why try to fix it. read more

They have a great selection of meats and seafood. We went in not too long after they recently opened but they seemed to have it together. I knew I wanted thin style short ribs but I didn't see it in the case. The butcher cut the short ribs to my liking though!!! When I cooked them, they were meaty and tender which is not always what you get with short ribs. We will be going back again and again. Thank you Rivera's and welcome to the neighborhood! read more
