Amazing soccer program for younger children starting at age 2. We enrolled our 3 children this…read moresummer ( 2 yr old twins, and 3 year old) and couldn't be happier. The toddler (24-36 months) program is a parent tot class that teaches basic soccer skills by using fun age appropriate games. Class is 60 minutes and my twins lose interest after about 45 minutes so I think a shorter class might be better. That said the coaches are very engaging and they love going and getting high fives after scoring. My 3 year old loves her class as well. I'm especially impressed with coach Adam who manages to draw my (extremely shy) daughter on the field and have her playing happily in a matter of minutes. If he sees her starting to wander towards me, he immediately refocuses her. At this age they still focus on skill building and often separate the kids into small groups for more individualized attention. This is a high quality kids program that shouldn't be missed.

Please note that they have many locations. My children have taken clinics in Highland Park,…read moreHighwood & Glenview. If you or your kids want to play soccer look no further than Little Legends! My son & daughter have both enjoyed Little Legends. Over the past 2+ years I have enrolled them in their practice clinics, game clinics & camps. What I love about Little Legends, there are so many things; To start Coach Tony & Coach George the owners - they are truly the Nicest Guys! They are experienced soccer players & coaches & they love what they do & have a true gift for working & bonding with children (toddler & up). Their staff also awesome (special shout out to one of our favs Coach Danielle) - it's true what they say good people attract good people! All the other coaches have played soccer & have been trained how to teach & coach soccer. Their clinics are really affordable & they offer great opportunities to make up missed clinics/classes. They teach your children soccer skills, sportsmanship skills & as a result soccer is fun! There is no denying that the Little Legend's "real" coaches have so much more impact on teaching skills than parent volunteer coaches as in AYSO. Lastly, yes your kids are learning but this is still a super friendly & fun atmosphere which is enjoyable for the kids & parents! I had my daughter in AYSO for 3 years she never really got a grip on the game, lots of running around but not really skills or even a true sense of the rules. Coach Tony told me "have her play with the boys & she will become a better player." Well, despite my concern, he was exactly right. She took a 9 week session with them & she was on fire! She Loves the game, confident, fearless & continued until she was too old for their clinics. My son also loves Little Legends it's always a highlight of his week! We even had a Little Legends Soccer Birthday which was fantastic too!

The jungle gym is in the room further back in the building, and most of the room is taken up with a large three or four level play structure. There's a few slides on it, some ropes to climb over, a little obstacle course, and lots of fun to be had. All the kids were loving it and we spent at least an hour and a half playing around and I think they could have gone for more. There's an $8 fee per child to go to the jungle gym, as of November 2025. They take cash or a card at the front desk. Definitely ask about wrist bans, or if you need to keep your receipt... there was a sign on the jungle gym door that was pretty adamant about having one, but no one in our group of five kids had one. They may only be for busy days but better to be safe than have to convince someone you've already paid. I also noticed that for the week of Thanksgiving they're doing open play throughout the week, taking reservations to make sure you can get in. If you'd like to find an easy way to let your kiddos expend some energy, this could be a good spot. There are a few tables for parents to sit at. No shoes on the play structure, and don't forget to bring socks!

The two young men who worked at the front desk were also very helpful. There is a kitchen, private bathroom, and plenty of tables and seating. This is a great party space.

Woodland Park straddles the Niles-Park Ridge border and is another hidden gem of a neighborhood playground in the area. While most of the park space is devoted to soccer games, it has a sparkling new playground which was totally rebuilt in the summer of 2006. To get to this park from Dempster, you can take Parkside Ave. all the way to the parking lot near Glenview Ave. From Oakton, it's 2 blocks north on Western Ave. in Park Ridge. Lots of dead-end or cul-de-sac streets keep outsiders from finding this place. You can't get to it easily from Greenwood Ave. Besides soccer, there are tennis courts and a basketball court. The playground is in the middle of the park, next to a big hill, which is great for "wheee moments" riding in a wagon, bicycle or on skates. It's also fun to run up and down the hill, though I have seen many kids falling down while doing that. In the winter, you can sled down this hill - even do it on a flat sheet of cardboard - as I saw some kids improvise last winter. A very large weeping willow nearby gives it the added touch of beauty. The playground has a fancy climbing apparatus that resembles a funnel-shaped spider web of red, braided rope. It connects to a walking bridge and 2 slides. This looks dangerously scary at first but seems like most kids navigate it quite well, including my 3-year old. There is also a steep climbing wall for the kiddies. A smaller playground for little kids is at the other side of the playground, but it is not as exciting. The little sandbox has clean white sand. Early in the day or in the evening after soccer is over, the open fields of grass are great for running around and playing in what looks like a big backyard next to all the residential homes nearby.
