We needed a quick repair of our washer. Martin was able to come faster than the other quotes of 10 days out..He diagnosed the problem, ordered new parts and charged us the first day for those and his flat fee..over $212.00 .He did come and put new parts in the machine, ( didn't test run the machine ) but it didn't work well ( loose drum) and he said it might be the parts were made in China and he was ordering replacements...( due to delay in repair we bought a new machine as we could not find anyone to repair the one he was to fix in the time we needed..) He never did finish the repair, we still have the parts he installed, and he has ignored our request for reimbursement of charges..He has not responded to any of our emails. I cannot recommend him since he charged us for a repair with new parts but we did not receive a repair with working parts..and he will not respond to our request for the refund.. read more

Our dryer was making a horrible noise. Read reviews on Yelp. Martin called us back and scheduled an appointment within a few hours. Dryer drum was cracked. Replacing it would have cost us a fortune and probably the same for a new dryer. He taped it up and replaced a small part. Hoping it will last a few more months. Cheap chinese parts. Martin just finished a repair job on my clothes dryer. This is the second time I've used his services (fixed my washer a few years back), and once again I couldn't be more pleased. He diagnosed the problem (horrible squeaking), quoted me the price, ordered the needed part, and came two days later for the repair job. He replaced the worn part and was in and out in less than 45 minutes. I appreciate Martin's fee structure. A flat rate for his service plus the cost for parts. There are no surprises. AND he's just a really nice young man. Olympic Appliance Repair is a one-man operation, and that's all that's really needed. I cannot say enough about Olympic Appliance Repair. Prices are more than reasonable and service is top rate. We were charged the basic, very reasonable service charge to come out to diagnosis our issue which took about a half hour, Martin explained exactly what was wrong and what parts needed to be replaced. He ordered them, showed us his pricing, did not charge any mark up. He came back on the next business day, the tear down and parts install was a bit more time consuming than anticipated, took over 2 hours. So, this is the 3rd time I've had Martin repair a appliance of mine, this time a door gasket on a Old Whirlpool front loader... He gave me a very fair price and when the third party part didn't work out he replaced it with a genuine at no additional cost. He does fantastic work... I only gave 2 stars even though the technician on the job (Serge) seemed like he knew what he was doing. After opening up our Samsung washer he told me that there was nothing he could see that might have caused a terrible noise coming out the the washer during the high spin cycle. However the "bad news" was a bearing inside the mechanism was on its way out and is too expensive to repair so a new washer would be needed. He said he tightened some things up inside so the washer could still be useable except for the noise during spin. Now the next day I did need to use the washer so I started it up but immediately came up with an error code telling me there was a motor problem and it would not proceed. I had Serge call me and asked why all of a sudden it wouldn't operate and he said he didn't do anything to cause something like that even though prior to his visit it operated. Didn't offer to come and look at it, apparently just assumed it just stopped working at that moment. Perhaps he is right but I thought a little more concern that he might have caused something during his visit, instead of just washing his hands of the matter. read more

It said to send a text which I did. No response. I called Thursday and left a message and followed up with another text. No response. Martin was a great guy, but that doesn't make up for the money I lost due to his rates. If only there was a bit more information from you Yelpers about his rate structure, I would have went somewhere else. Basically, he charges a flat fee for services. It's like 130 bucks for labor. Well, if your issue is small and takes like 30 minutes (such as mine did), you still pay about a days worth of work for 30 minutes. He makes out like a bandit with a fee structure like this. Most places charge 70 dollars per hour and I would have paid so much less. Instead I trusted you guys and got ripped off. I'm pissed off to say the least. Will not ever use his services again and a warning to all who read Yelp reviews. Hey if you feel like making it worth your while, you might as well kick the unit and throw it a few times to make sure it's screwed up before you call him. If I could give ZERO stars, I would. While I used Martin in the past and had great luck, this time the service was non-existent. Having a freezer which suddenly quite working, I came back to Yelp to find a contact number for this business. First I called and received a recording which stated that he couldn't come to the phone and I could leave a message BUT the message stated he was unlikely to return my call. Really? Business is so good that you basically tell the customer that you aren't interested? I tried again several hours later. Still no answer. This time I attempted to leave a message, in the hopes that I might win the lotto of returned phone calls, only to be notified that the voice mail box was full. Sheesh! Over the next week, I attempted to contact Martin via text message, no less than 10 times. Not once did I receive a response. If you need a repair, call Berry's Appliance.
