This company is very busy and it's easy to see why. They are timely and efficient, give good and prompt customer service and have a decent showroom. They are not discount but there are occasional sales to take advantage of that bring the prices down into a relatively reasonable range. I begin this review by saying I have reached the point where I have no alternative but to take this business to Small Claims Court. Here's why: Early last August we met with a sales rep to begin an order for blinds at our living room, dining room, and kitchen. It wasn't until mid-September that blinds were ready to install. During the install of the living room blinds, we discovered that they were not motorized, as we requested. Also, the dining room's large set of windows wasn't yet complete so they had to re-order those, too, because of lack of motorization. Finally, on Oct. 22, Mark installed our motorized blinds. One of 3 of the living room blinds didn't work, so he told us he would reorder the blind. Also, the blinds in the dining room operate the opposite direction we need. Mark said, "Oh well." Mean time they fired our sales rep. We have been pleading with owner, Gavin, ever since to correct this. He refuses to honor their 90-day warranty for a bad blind and then tells us in a google review that we should expect 100% satisfaction. Well Gavin, when will you make good on this.? You refuse to return our calls, emails, and even visits to your store! This is the worst company in Olympia for customer service. Steer clear and save yourself a lot of misery. read more

My experience with Olympic Blinds has been unacceptable and reflects serious failures in warranty support, communication, and leadership accountability. Olympic Blinds took possession of my blinds for a warranty issue and kept them for approximately seven months. They still have them! Throughout that time, delays were repeatedly attributed to the manufacturer, yet no clear timeline or resolution was provided. Communication has been consistently poor. The vice president of the company, who is also the owner's son and was responsible for handling this issue, did not return phone calls, voicemails, or emails from either me or my husband. Communication, when it occurred at all, was limited to text messages. During this process, I was told things like "It's busy season" and that they would "get to it when they can." I was also told that pursuing small claims court would be "a waste of time and money." Twice I have been told my blinds were on there way back from the manufacturer. I still have no blinds. Despite these assurances, months have passed with no resolution. I was given inconsistent information and had to repeatedly follow up just to get basic updates. At one point, I contacted the manufacturer directly and was told they were waiting on authorization from Olympic Blinds to proceed. Even after requesting a refund, the owner never contacted me at any point during the seven months this issue has continued. After researching further, I noticed that many Yelp reviews describe similar issues, including poor communication, extended delays, and difficulty with warranties. My experience closely mirrored those complaints. The lack of responsiveness, follow-through, and accountability -- particularly at the management level -- resulted in a significant waste of my time and left me without my blinds or a resolution. Many of the comments regarding this business having had customer satisfaction problems are absolutely accurate. Before going any further, I would highly warn potential customers to stay clear of Olympic Blinds. Two issues after four months have not been addressed and interaction with Gavin has been deplorable. I have been a business owner for 38 years. Had I treated my customers in the manner he has, I'd have been out of business long ago. Apparently, Gavin is the proverbial ostrich with his head in the sand who, when issues arise, blames the customer. Poignantly, our first issue is that one of the blinds (operated by the remote control) simply didn't work. Mark, the individual who made the installation reported it to Gavin. Pretty simple right? Initiate a replacement and subsequent installation. NEVER DONE ... hundreds of dollars never refunded. Second, and most importantly for potential customers to know, is that the salesperson was fired for botching the order. We ordered blinds that would rise from the windowsill up (for privacy, yet allowing good lighting into the dining room), but Mark installed blinds that unfolded down from the top of the windows. How did Gavin react? He claimed the sales contract specified this. Now we're talking about several thousand dollars. In finally speaking with him, he refused to replace them but offered to negotiate a reduced price for a new set yet not refund the initial cost. How would you feel if you found yourself in this situation? On the website, you'll read nothing but glowing reviews. Obviously, they are more than happy to deceptively lead potential customers down their rabbit hole. It's a dark one, folks! Stay clear of these people because if something goes wrong, YOU'LL pay for it. Incidentally, they are not accredited with the Better Business Bureau as they've not met their requisite standards of trust. So, we have only one alternative now ... court! read more

We just completed a partial remodel. Looked at several options to purchase shades for 5 windows... happy to be able to shop in-home . After looking at the products and various options, we landed on a blind...followed by a quick laser measure... we had blinds installed ( in less than 60 minutes) 3 weeks later. We placed our order for whole house blinds on August 4th 2021 understanding that the turnaround would be approximately three weeks. On October 14th our blinds were finally installed after two month's of waiting for blinds to arrive. Realizing these are different time's we are living in right now with the problems presented by the Covid epidemic we were not real concerned about the delay in installation. Shipping problems, manufacturing problems and staffing problems were taken into consideration. Our finished product was excellent and Brian the owner was very receptive to our concerns. Our issue was with the office contact person dealing with customers concerns. One month into the order and a $3400.00 deposit we still had no contact regarding our orders delay. After leaving numerous phone massages and text messages we finally had an answer and was told, "we have no control over production". I get that, but it would have been nice to have someone keep us in the loop and contact us on a delivery schedule "especially" after leaving numerous phone calls. Finally after 2 months and receiving a phone call about installation "that we missed" I tried to contact Olympic Blinds office again to schedule our installation and left a phone a message and text message without a return reply. Realizing the only way to get a response was in person I took time to visit their office "and in person" scheduled an installation. As I said, the installation went well, the blinds look fabulous and Brian the owner and his son were I incredibly proficient in their demeanor and skills. I would have given this company five star's if their office customer service skills had been better. The delay I can live with, poor customer service, there is no excuse. read more

And I googled your business, you were not referred to me by anyone. As for me saying "meet me half way" I was Not referring to the replacement cost of the toy chest. I was referring to how you said you believed your workers and basically inferred that you did not believe your customers. If you for once thought this thru from customers point of view, thus by meeting us half way instead of taking your worker side, you would have seen how ridiculous your offer of "taking polygraph test " was. Obviously you were only thinking about dollars so I could see how you would interpret that as paying half for the replacement cost. And you only offered to pay for the replacement after we told you that was a "fair" thing to do. You didnt want to pay for anything at first. And on the day of the installation your employees acknowledged that the toy chest was broken while they were at my house. They didnt want to say who or how, but acknowledged that it had happened so no, this is not a "he said, she said" incident. And as far as another malfunctioning shades, you did offer and your office also offered. I declined because I simply dont want to do anymore business with you. Period. I rather have a malfunctioning shade than to have it replaced by your business. Simple as that. You really need to understand how customer satisfaction works when you say it and make it your business motto. And clearly you know nothing about customer privacy and their information when you decided to give my last name in your rebuttal. read more

Took four visits to figure out our order--they cannot schedule when you call because each staff member handles their own calendar. They take over a week to respond to messages and just say call back again. I got bad advice about what blind to use in a south facing office--they recommended "light filtering" and it is way too bright to use a computer. I had a blind that did not work properly and they charge $125 to do a warranty repair. And I didn't find out until the day before the appointment even though I scheduled it a month ago. Use the Blind Depot instead. They have helped me clean up Olympic Blinds' mistakes. read more

I filled out a request form online for service at Olympic Blinds. Erica called me to request that I bring in my woven wood shade to be restrung. Mark, a service person, looked at the shade and brought out some cord to use in brown tones that looked good. He then decided that he might not have enough of the brown cord and brought out bright white that would have looked wrong. I asked him if he could order some more brown (I had already said that he could combine 2 different shades of brown cords). He said that as long as he had white he wouldn't order any brown cord. He said it would take 10 days to complete and I returned to pick up my shade 12 days later, and no work had been done on the shade. I went in on Monday and was told that Mark had the week off, so I just brought it home. I found Mark to be indifferent and rude. Don't waste your time at Olympic Blinds. read more

When we moved here 4 years ago Olympic installed blinds for us. Three blinds have broken the pull string in that short time. The strings are too thin or they are catching on a rough surface in the carrier. They do not warranty repairs even though the blinds should have lasted much longer. I'm going somewhere else. It took so much work on my part to follow-up with them to get an in-home consultation set up. Then, the representative was 35 minutes late to our set time. She did the consult, although a bit rushed compared to other consults from other companies we had had come through already, and then let me know she would have a quote sent over by Friday. 3 days later, on Friday afternoon, I emailed asking if the quote was ready or if it would take longer. She never responded. Don't bother with this business... it's not worth the price you get quoted. At the end of the day, we were more than happy to pay $250-$300 more than what Olympic quoted us because of the terrible customer service. Let it be known, I've never in my life written a Yelp review but felt very inclined to for this particular interaction. Disappointing but I guess that is just how the cookie crumbled here. They never call and update you, making the customer having to call them. They don't stand behind their warranty. They blame manufacturers rather than take blame themselves. One of the "workers" is the owners son, is busy being impressed with himself rather than work. The worse part is the developer of my housing tract used them in most of the homes. I would highly recommend Olympic Blinds if you need window coverings for any room in your house. They will outbid any quote you get (i.e Budget Blinds). I got the same product and better service for a remarkably lower price. Budget Blinds was two and a half times more expensive. Then he didn't finish and packed up at 4:30pm. So due to it being Friday now we have to wait till sometime next week for them to come back and finish. We are moving in this weekend. Brian really helped us choose a color that complemented the wall paint in our home, it's classic, he was right on. We had a problem with our $2000+ blind. Yep, one blind. I drove over 15 miles to pick up a box from them. I got home, wrapped it up and drove it back to them. We then were told it would be a $40 service charge for a blind to be sent back for repair. Maybe I shouldn't have gone and done their work for them. When we first ordered it was guaranteed for life. I guess that meant guaranteed to suck money out of us. This experience with them and Hunter Douglas left a lot to be desired. read more

Although the big box stores were priced lower, it was painful to get cost estimates because it was a multi-day process. Megan & Brian were helpful to me in making product decisions and the clincher was when Brian matched the price of the big box store. The installer was professional, friendly and efficient. update 1/4/17 Olympic blinds "Brian" called and left a message on Monday the 2nd at 8:23 a.m. To give us a courtesy call that our blinds have been there for 30 days and they will be discarded, and they have a sign posted about not leaving blinds stored. How funny. Brian barely called on Saturday December 26th and left a message (the message I previously indicated) that they had been busy and just now got around to getting order info for the blinds to replace. Our broken blinds have been sitting there for months. You just now called on the 26th of December, we have the voicemail to prove it. Then when I called back Bruce was more whiny about his personal cell phone being called and wanting to charge $74+ for plastic mini blinds. Now you want to give a courtesy call and try citing that they have been there 30days? Right smack between all the holidays and really they have been there for MONTHS. You all need to get organized and professional. Absolutely ridiculous. It's like your own employees don't even communicate with each other. Heck, you didn't seem to remember that you barely called on 12/26/16 and then called on 1/2/17 citing 30 days LOL when really from 12/26 it's only been 4 business days. Clearly time has escaped you. He showed us the top of the line and the bottom of the barrel and made suggestions that matched our home style, decor and needs for insulation. We started off rough with a sales gal who canceled an appointment 10" after she was to arrive and when I spoke to Brian (the owner) he didn't make excuses he just offered to give us great service. I feel it is important that I reviewed my review since I haven't experienced such a bazaar experience in my lifetime ..I am 65. After Several times trying to reach Olympic blinds I wrote a review. After 3 months had passed and the owner Brian, and companion showed up unexpectedly at my house requesting to see my problem blind. I was asked to show them how I raised the blind an was immediately reprimanded for my inability to do it right! I was then reprimanded for my review...that it was unreasonable and undeserving. They wanted to know what they could do to to change my review. I asked them to either fix it or get me a new blind. I had to asked them to leave my home as I felt badgered and invalidated about this one particular blind and yet they wouldn't leave until I agreed to change my review. I did, I folded. Since then I moved ...I spent approximately $3,000 on my custom shutters and blinds and received no compensation for the OBVIOUS faulty blind or a even replacement. My only complaint would be that they were rather hard to communicate with and slow to return messages when we needed to replace a damaged blind.
