What an amazing experience! The rental process was fairly easy and accessible. Amber was helpful with the safety instructions. This was an amazing overall experience.cute port. The perfect day, no wind and plenty of sun.

I've rented from these guys several times. The equipment is always above average for rental and in good shape. The staff is always awesome. And of course it's a great place to paddle a kayak or paddle board. Dyes Inlet is a protected body of water that often has water like glass.

I was in Seattle area test driving the new turbocharged AWD Volkswagen #GolfAlltrack a few weeks ago, and we decided to use the car to go kayaking at Olympic Outdoor Center's Port Gamble location. I had never previously been kayaking, so I was concerned that I might flip the kayak over and drop my iPhone in the water! (Of course I could have just left my phone in the car, but then I wouldn't be able to capture any content, duh) The nice kayak instructors hooked me up with a plastic bag that I could safeguard my phone into, and I stuffed it into my life vest. They were extremely helpful to our entire group, and showed us how fun and easy kayaking can be! I can't wait to go kayaking again thanks to my awesome experience with these guys! Oh, and if you want to see some more photos from our trip, check out my Instragram or click the link here: http://motormavens.com/2016/10/volkswagen-golf-alltrack-turbocharged-sportwagen/

We were at the poulsbo location yesterday. It was a super nice day, and the poor girl working there needed more help. It seemed like they didn't plan for the volume of people on a nice day. Instead of taking care of a group that was there and had their paperwork done she kept stopping to take care of people that had just walked up. Customers were having to help each other. The whole thing would have gone a lot smoother if one group at a time would have been taken care of. There needs to be better planning on managements part for good weather days, and training for employees in how to handle a higher than normal volume.

We went to the Poulsbo location today to go kayaking for our anniversary. They have snacks (ice cream, Popsicles, chips), water, soda, sunscreen and even sun glasses for sale. When we got there, a group of people were getting ready to out in their kayaks so we didn't know if we would get one. Brandon (I think?) was working by himself and he handled himself very well for being so busy on a Monday! He was super patient with us when I had to keep adjusting the pedals on my boat. We saw seals, cranes and a ton of creepy jellyfish. When we came back in, he was helping a huge group of kids with paddle boards and he stayed patient with them. We'll come back just because the employees seriously rock!

Tons of outdoor on-the-water Fun! For kayak weekend-warriors, this a great affordable alternative to owning your own kayak or standup paddle board. Reasonable prices & good service. The training & tutotial was in-depth and got me refamiliarized with the kayaks features. Safety was their priority. Would definitely do again!! Overall score: 4.25 / 5.00

    Very happy after kayaking!!!!

Despite that, they refused to issue a full refund. When I booked, I expected a reasonable level of customer service and flexibility, especially for something as unpredictable as getting sick. Instead, I was met with rigid policy. It felt like they cared more about keeping my money than doing right by a customer who couldn't safely attend. I understand that businesses have cancellation policies, but there should be some level of compassion and common sense--especially when someone gives advance notice and isn't canceling last minute. Unfortunately, this experience left a bad impression. I would hesitate to book with them again and recommend others read the fine print very carefully before committing... because even with advance notice, you will not get a full refund if you need to cancel.

Three types of kayaks are available: single, double or triple occupancy. Discover is an accepted form of payment. A Discover Pass is required to park at Spencer Spit. If you do not have a pass, a $10 day pass can be purchased with cash or check. There were several rangers checking passes on our visit so be sure to have a pass visibly displayed to avoid being ticketed. WHAT TO BRING - Signed Release of Liability - Bathing suit or non-cotton under layers preferred - A synthetic shirt (capilene, polypro, Under Armor, etc) - Shorts or pants made of a synthetic material (may get wet/damp) - Lightweight fleece jacket or windbreaker/rain jacket to provide warmth - Water shoes or sandals that strap on (or shoes that can get wet) - Sun hat and/or sunglasses - Sunscreen and chapstick - Water bottle - Optional; Camera, Plastic bag for wet items and change of clothing - If you have a gift certificate or prepaid voucher (such as Groupon) please bring a printed copy with you! Dorito Dan was our guide for the day. Dan was friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The first hour is dedicated to introductions, procedures and safety. Be sure to use the restroom before departing. Once on the water, there is no turning back. Kayaking is great for teamwork and communication. Both are required to avoid frustration. I recommend wearing weight-lifting/bicycle gloves in order to prevent blisters. Each person in our group started getting blisters towards the end of the tour. During our 3 mile kayaking trip, we spotted starfish, seals and majestic bald eagles. Thank you Outdoor Adventures for providing a magnificent day of play while surrounded by gorgeous Mother Nature. We all plan to return in the near future for another go-around.

Booking was a breeze, advanced communication was timely and informative, check-in was friendly and easy, and even the drive across the island from Friday Harbor was engaged and informative. But the real magic happened on the water, where we started under mild, overcast skies, and ended with sunshine and perfect weather. Along the way we saw: 1 black fox, 2 harbor seals, 1 harbor porpoise, a rhinoceros auklet (unique diving sea bird), 13+ Bald Eagles, AND TWO HUMPBACK WHALES! The beach side lunch was fantastic... the best turkey sandwich I've ever had, made exceptional by the views and the company. The lack of an Orca sighting made this full day trip an eyelash shy of perfect, but we could not have otherwise been more thrilled with our experience on the water with Brandon and the Discovery Sea Kayak team. Thank you for a magical day on the island. PS - we paid half as much for a full day tour with Discovery as we did for a half day tour on Orcas Island, so this group gets our strongest recommendation!

The location is on the dock on front street above an ice cream place. The staff is super friendly and appreciated my early arrival. We got a short talk about safety and what to expect. Then we donned suits to keep us warm and dry. Tip: use the hat they offer and gloves. The hood doesn't keep the wind from making your ears cold without holding it tight around your face. I ran to the dock and met Captain BJ who would be working with Allison our guide. The was helpful and allowed me to sit up front. I was more excited than a kid on Christmas morning. The boat starts and we leave the harbor. Then we started going really fast which was so awesome! We saw a sea otter playing in the tide current. There were harbor porpoises. But the steller sea lions were enormous and stunning. They were subbing themselves on the rocks. The piece de resistance was the orcas! A pod of orcas was hunting a lone steller sea lion. We must have sat there over an hour. Other boats gathered and we all watched. I'm not shy in admitting I was deeply moved. I cried a bit at how awesome this experience was and seeing beautiful orcas was on my bucket list. My favorite part was that this is a small business. They are locally owned and have a focus on conservation. The boat pulls water from the ocean to propel itself forward which means no gas, propeller or noisy engine that stresses out whales. We stopped to remove a mylar balloon from the water. I love when people practice what they preach! We continued and saw more eagles, rhiocerous ocelot, and more harbor porpoises. By the end my heart was full. Captain BJ said this was his second favorite trip of the year this far. I beamed all the way back to the office to return our gear. Tip: go to the whale museum when it opens at 11am then come here to see real whales. Do this whale watching tour! Best bang for your buck you will ever get!!
