Baklava Cheesecake & Tiramisu grabbed my attention today. I wouldn't mind going back for the spinach pie next time. I also hear good things about their pastrami sandwich if I remember next time I'm back. Good polite service today. Cute interior.

Oreo cake and cream puff- please don't try
    Ben W.

I don't see all the rave reviews about this place. I mean I had to try it because of the reviews but was disappointed because the cream puff was not fresh with a harder not soft disappointed outer shell and the so called vanilla inside was this artificial soft white cream that is not what a cream puff should taste like. It should have been a simple cold whipped cream mix with a nice soft cold shell around it. The Oreo cake was poor too. Just a lot of syrup and same artificial white cream inside the chocolate layers. Didn't taste like Oreo at all with no actually Oreo pieces inside the cake. Didn't even finish either bakery goods. Dissappointed and glad I just wasted 5$ because it could have been way more. If I had to give another chance, I would go for a lunch option but I'm not sure that would be better.

Okay, so I see why this place gets 5 stars if you're going for sandwiches and fresh bread... this place is delicious! The inside is super small, and we are a large family so I think we overwhelmed them a bit. We bought some desserts for our dessert tour and were pleasantly surprised to see they make "beach" pizza as we call it so we ordered some pizza too. The pizza was frozen pizza and tastes exactly like "school" pizza so if that's your thing. This is the best place for it! Daughter loved it. Our pastries weren't really fresh but the kids did enjoy them. Our cream puff was delicious. We will definitely come back and try the sandwiches. Being able to pick your own fresh bread is really great and it looked delicious.

So today was Greek Easter, and I decided I was going to just buy some stuff instead of spending hours baking. Great idea and Olympos was wonderful. The lady behind the counter was super friendly and patient as my mom and i struggled to not buy EVERYTHING. It all looked so good. Well today I actually got to eat it and OMG, so similar to what my mom bakes. I will soooo be back. The lobster tails looked fabulous. Even the ted eggs were nice to have and not dye our entire kitchen! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

#Spreadingjoythrufood paid a visit to This local family owned bakery to get some pastries & Cookies to deliver to our community Ems workers during Covid-19. The woman at the counter was so friendly and welcoming! The display case was filled with such yummy desserts it was hard to choose so I didn't! 3 dozen Cookies and 3 dozen pastries later! This made a whole much of EMT and Paramedic happy today at Pridestar, Pulse & Trinity!! There platters are perfect to bring to any party when U just don't want to bake!

A friend's co-worker highly recommended Olympos so we were in the area and decided to stop in. We were in search of some "traditional" greek desserts ...specifically the galaktoboureko (the greek custard pie) and can never remember how to pronounce it. As we walked in, we were immediately greeted by a very nice young lady. We informed her it was our first time so she could continue with what she was working on as it may take us a few minutes to look through the many choices. There were two big cases of baked goods and additional exposed and packaged items on top of the cases. They also prepare calzones, spinach pies, etc. We did ask if they had the galaktoboureko and she said they do make it but only for special occasions ... like Christmas, but it wasn't something they have on a daily basis. Of course, we sighed. :-( They did have a tray of baklava but my friend decided on an apple turnover (so she could take it home and heat it), I decided to get three smaller pastries to "munch" on in the car: finikia (honey dipped spice cookie), a raspberry rugalach and an apple rugalach. We didn't care much for the finikia as it was very mealy tasting, the rugalach's were good and probably much better warm. My friend had her apple turnover the next morning for breakfast and reported the crust was flaky, apples plentiful but the turnover fell apart when she put it in the toaster over. Service was very friendly and helpful, overall first experience based on our selections of baked goods is a 3 out of 5.

Just wanted to put this up.

We're do I begin??? So I'm on Yelp looking for a brownie -no not that kind, well...... I come across this bakery and it looks good. It's close by and I can get back to work pretty quickly. So I wanted a brownie did I mention that already? Ok so do some website stocking on this place and it really seems good. I see fresh bake bread made in house, a good selection of desserts all made in house. I got to give this place a try and really pleased I did. As you walk in your greeted with beautiful layout of the large selection of desserts they offer all look amazing. Your overcome with the smell of love really the place smelled great. Think I the Wellie Wonka chocolate factory would smell like (Augustus, save some room for later lmfao) I see a lady making a salad in the kitchen. This lady was not messing around one bit. She was focused on making sure she put all her passion into making this salad. She cutting lettuce and vegetables and was piling it so high. I thought to my self she must me making this for her self cuz there was just too much love in this salad to give to a customer-I was total wrong she made it for a customer. I had the eclair it was great perfect ratio of pastry, cream and chocolate topping. It was kinda small maybe a 2 bit or a 2 1/2 bit eclair. I ate two of them. I get a warm pastrami sandwich on a perfectly backed warm freshly made sesame seed roll, 2 different types of chess it was really mouth watering!!! The lady who made my sandwich whom I found out was the owner really has put her heart and soul into this place. I think her bakery is her sanctuary, really she seemed to really enjoy making my sandwich. I also noticed and tasted that they use real yes real Rolls Royce spicy mustard. Gray Poupon not that cheap shit you get a market basket. We all know this mustard is no cheap but they gladly gave me extra on the side with out charging me. I love this place, I will be back often.

Unfortunately, what I ordered just didn't land. I got the seasonal campfire latte with protein powder and a matcha brownie. In hindsight, I should've kept it simple and skipped both the protein powder and the brownie. The latte tasted pretty chalky from the protein powder, and the matcha brownie unfortunately seemed stale, like it had been baked a few days prior. The vibes and service were solid, so not a total loss. I likely just ordered the wrong things. Maybe we'll give it another shot and try something simpler before we head back home to the West Coast.

More recently I got their seasonal mango sticky rice matcha and it was very very good I would likely reccomend a matcha over a coffee if you were to come here. I had a baked good and it was only alright, I would skip it. The atmosphere is hit or miss, sometimes the artwork they have on display is nice but sometimes it is kind of freaky. It also is typically pretty hot and a little smelly with sticky tables. The staff could not be nicer though, they are very knowledgeable about the menu and are happy to help if you have questions and get your coffee ready quickly.

Everyone knows that you have to get to a Chinese bakery early in the morning for the freshness and availability of all their wonderful delights. The dessert/cake display case left much to be desired. Again, it could have been that we arrived later in the day but it didn't seem like there was anything pleasing to the eye. Usually I get super excited and over order the typical Chinese sweet treats and end up with a box full of green tea cakes, sponge fruit cakes, mango custard, and sweet rice cakes. I didn't care for anything here except something called the "Triple" baked bun with was three separate baked buns stuck together with custard, taro and red bean filling. The baked buns are displayed on a rolling bakery cart with each group of buns labeled accordingly. There was a great variety of baked buns that included taro, tuna, hotdog, pork, and one that I've never seen before, "Steak & Cheese." We had to get one to try. Prices were a little higher than the usual Chinatown fare at $1.50 or $ 1.75 for most of the baked buns. My husband and I split a regular steamed pork bun that was filled with the usual pork filling, hard boiled egg and Chinese sausage that is common among all baos. I'm not sure if it's because we were already ravenous, but the pork bao was pretty good. I'd definitely get another one. I just finished reading all the reviews and while most of them were positive and well deserved, a…read morecouple of things stood out that I think deserve some comment. Before I get to them I want to jump on the bandwagon and say Rob and Jannette (the owners) are some of my favorite people now. I park my car in the garage across the street from them and feel a gravitational pull to the market every time I park. I sometimes go in there with no need and no idea why I'm going in and walk out with something special. Now to the complaints (which were few but shouldn't go unchallenged). First, some complained that the prices are high. That's true, as well as inevitable at such a small scale. I know the owners aren't becoming rich via this venture. If you're the type of person that only considers prices when forming a value statement, you might be better off going to BJ's. For me, value is a complex calculation that doesn't actually result in something that you can put a dollar sign in front of. I live in the neighborhood so convenience is a factor. The selection, in particular the beer and wine choices, is something that I literally can't find at any other grocery store nearby, thanks to the invisible Puritans in my state that voted down a referendum to allow grocery stores to sell beer and wine. Much of what's available is sourced locally. More important than those, and something that I saw in many reviews, is the wonderful relationship I have with the owners. I can't even walk past the place without a friendly wave from them. They know their products and are happy to answer questions about them. And they know me. They know I try to only eat vegan foods, their amazing Muffaletta sandwich being a notable exception. They know I'm allergic to chocolate. As a regular customer, I get special treatment from them. Try THAT at Market Basket! Just this morning, I ran out of turmeric and ran to the market. They didn't have it on the shelf, but they had it in the kitchen. Rob got me what I needed and refused to take my money. What's something like that worth to you? I also saw some people complain that the produce can be on the edge of spoilage. I can't deny that there have been times when I purchased things only to have them inedible the next day. I understand that this is just normal for a small, owner-operated grocery store with moderate turnover and minimal staff. But instead of writing them off, I alert them when I think something in the display fridge should be removed. Also, I don't stock my refrigerator from MSM. I buy what I need when I'm going to use it and inspect it before putting it my shopping basket. In other words, I don't attempt to treat them like a tiny Hannaford. I treat them like an amazing pantry, which is easy for me since they're in the neighborhood. Before the MSM opened the city conducted a survey among downtown residents that attempted to figure out what types of businesses people would most like to have appear in the neighborhood. A small grocer was at the top of most resident's preferences. I'd like to remind people that now that we have one, we'd better use it... or we'll lose it. I'd also add that whatever problems may exist at MSM, they'll only get better if we reach out to them the way they've reached out to us.

Market Street Market is the only locally-owned grocery store as of the time of writing this. The…read moreowner of the store also owns the building, and he is as friendly and helpful as anyone could ask for. The market carries a nice assortment of fruits and veggies (mostly local), deli meat & cheese, pastas, sauces, breads, coffees, etc. They have a great MA-roasted coffee that is excellent, and you can even get fresh-squeezed OJ by the glass - there's a fancy contraption that allows you to watch the process - or you can get watermelon by the slice. Perfect for those hot summer evenings. There are some muffins and pastries if you need a quick snack, frozen foods, and a decent selection of laundry soaps (like method) and other household necessities. In short, pretty much anything (basic) you'd need to run your home, especially if you already eat out several nights a week. They're open 8am - 8pm. Also, since it's a smaller store, I'm assuming that the owners will stock anything you ask for if there is a growing demand for it. They seem pretty flexible and are definitely open to opinions and feedback on how to make store as good as they possibly can. So why didn't I give it 5 stars? Well, it is pretty small, so there's no way they can stock EVERYthing that I need, which means I'll still probably have to go to a larger store for some things. That and the prices have to be a little higher because they get such small quantities. Otherwise, I'm a fan. I'll try to get at least a few items there every week just to keep them in business, because it's something that was sorely missing from the downtown Lowell area. Stop by and check them out! Tell 'em Jen + Tommy sent you :)
