The actual facial I received here was incredible. I would call VALO a demi spa in that it has some amenities, but not that many. They do have a nice locker room and offer spa style robes and sandals, and you can take a shower after your service if you like, but they don't have a hot tub, a sauna, a steam room, etc. Their robes were pretty size inclusive, the biggest one I saw was a two XL. The facial room itself was nicely appointed, and had a feature I haven't seen in a long time, which was a little light display on the ceiling that was very soothing. The facial bed/table was very comfortable and ergonomic. The facialist was warm and friendly, but professional. She spoke to explain things as she was doing them, and to warn me when something would be cold or bright, but didn't speak so often that I felt like she was interrupting my Zen. I can tell she was very well trained, and her massage technique was excellent. Her hands felt experienced, and the way she moved from treatment to treatment was seamless. The only thing I noticed that could be improved upon was the volume of the music in the lobby. I really like the music they had, which was sort of a more modern spa track, but as the receptionist was giving me the tour, she spoke with her back to me and between that and the music I couldn't hear what she was saying.

My student therapist was kind, attentive, and checked in throughout the massage to make sure I was comfortable and that the pressure was okay. I really appreciated how thoughtful she was. Between the beautiful atmosphere and the affordable student services, I'll definitely be back. There are bare parts of my nail but somehow also polish on the skin around my nail. The manicuring was off. Still parts of skin and cuticle around the nail. The worst part is that they don't use a bag in the basin or new nail tools for each customer which makes me not want to go back just for fear of getting an infection. Doesn't seem like they care at all about cleanliness when it comes to nail practices. Definitely looking elsewhere for pedicures in the future.

It gives me the time to look at the options and compare all the schedules. My daughter wanted a specific cut and our hair is very thick. If not cut correctly, the cut would easily turn out like a mushroom and not sleek. We showed Aynsley a pic my daughter liked, she looked at my daughters hair and was good to go. I'd traditionally 'hung out' when she got her haircut but this time she was confident to go up on her own. After the cut--which looked FABULOUS--they had built a relationship, had plans for next time and talked about hair care. I really loved not only the talent Aynsley brought but the experience.
