I have to update my review as we've now been working with Michaela & team for longer and could not be more happy. I highly recommend Om Obedience and would encourage anyone to sign their dog up for their classes and lessons! I first started working with Om Obedience in the summer of 2020 when I adopted a pandemic puppy, Delilah. Michaela and Maddie helped work with her as she grew up and went through over energetic periods and fear periods. We stayed consistent with the classes through adolescence and not only did Delilah LOVE THEM, but we also always saw improvements and learned a lot. We then worked with Michaela on private lessons before welcoming a human baby. Michaela helped desensitize Delilah to the baby noises and toys, practiced stroller walks, gave us so many tips and tricks to safely have baby and dog coexist, and was incredibly patient and persistent with getting Delilah to jump in the car and go up and down our basement stairs (two things we couldn't get her to do in the 2+ years we had Delilah). When the baby arrived, we felt so prepared with Delilah and Delilah has been great at being a big sister and isn't anxious at all with the change.. which if you know Delilah, that is incredible! read more

Dogs are pack animals and thrive in community. Michaela has built the perfect community for all of my dogs to truly shine. Om Obedience changed my life! I met Michaela before Om when I was looking for training for my first dog, my 2 year old corgi/dachshund who wasn't a fan of dogs, and quite honestly, didn't consider himself to even be a dog. Ozzie was a fantastic dog, and Michaela helped him realize that potential! Fast forward a few years when I ended up with a 1-2 year old pittbull/mastiff who was all dog. Big dog. Strong dog. Loud dog. Stubborn dog. I was frantically searching for Michaela and couldn't find her, until I stumbled upon the Om Obedience raffle package at the Yogathon. I put all my tickets into this raffle, and didn't win, but I ended up a winner because I was reconnected with Michaela and was at the very beginning of my most rewarding dog journey (so far!) Overwhelmed, but determined not to give up on Taz, I began a lifelong commitment to training my dog(s). Many (many) classes and pack walks later, Taz earned his Canine Good Citizen certification and even made it to Advanced Canine Good Citizen: accomplishments I never thought we'd see. Taz changed me in so many amazing, positive ways, and I never would have seen that growth in myself if I hadn't had the support and commitment of Michaela and Om Obedience. When I decided to get a puppy (I always said I'd NEVER get a puppy), Om was my first call! Knowing I knew nothing about puppies, I booked myself a training session before I even met Onyx. Michaela laid out the basics and prepared me for my baby piranha (and the how-tos on housetraining!) I was very pleased to have a plan in place for my very first puppy, and a plan for introducing him to my now senior dog Taz, and maintaining a peaceful home throughout this transition. Onyx came home and we spent a few weeks bonding and doing all the things Michaela recommended, and then we started classes! I was so excited to start this new chapter with my puppy :) Onyx started puppy preschool with Maddie, and continued on to elementary with his new bff. Maddie is a great addition to the Om team, and to my life as well! To date, Onyx has completed MANY Om Obedience classes with Maddie and Michaela and has attended countless pack walks. He gets complements on his stellar behavior everywhere we go! I couldn't be more proud of my baby boy. And now Onyx is the best big brother ever to his human sister Hazel. Once again, Michaela was my first call when I found out I was pregnant, and I booked a few in home training sessions before the baby came to prepare Taz and Onyx for her arrival. Sadly, Taz crossed the rainbow bridge before Hazel's arrival. Luckily, Taz and Michaela did an amazing job preparing Onyx for his big brother role and he has been great throughout these life changing transitions. We made it through the 4th trimester, the 3 am feedings, the waiting for mom to finish feeding baby before she lets Onyx out to pee.. We've perfected the baby/puppy walk with the stroller or baby carrier. We've gone on some pretty awesome family nature walks. We excel at relaxing on the couch and sharing space! Right now we are working through the transition of Mom going back to work and using all of our tools in our toolbox: dog walkers, doggie daycare, baby/daddy/Onyx walks, playtime with the neighbor dog friends. Up next is another round of intermediate training for Onyx, with Mom wearing a Hazel! Our family 5 year plan is to add another Rottweiler to our pack, and you know who's going to be the first to know when that happens ;) read more

Michaela is AWESOME! And her training is superb. Within the class structure, Michaela is well able to coordinate training for each individual dog, working on certain behaviors, based on their needs. She has infinite experience, but also excellent instincts. (From watching dog training shows over the years, it's apparent that dog behavior is as much about the dog's owners as it is the dog, and some people refuse to bend. In life, you often get what you give. And I'm wondering with these negative reviewers, if their dogs were ever properly trained. Unfortunately, as we all know, there are many dogs who are not, and the dog is not to blame.) I have found Michaela to be a fantastic communicator about any issue I've spoken to her or emailed her about, and there have been a few. She pours herself into her work, it's clear it's not just a job to her, it is a calling to help all dogs become well-mannered citizens, and reach their best selves. Michaela is wonderful! We took the Dog BONES evaluation with her. It is a 3 day, 1.5 hour (each time) process- there were other dogs there who had taken obedience classes with her and they were SO excited to see her. She was informative and had a very calming presence around the dogs (and us parents!). She gave us great tips for our visits in healthcare environments and she told us so many little tidbits about dog behavior- it was very easy to tell that she is extremely experienced. We loved her, our pup LOVED her, we are so excited that she helped us on our journey to becoming a therapy team! We highly highly highly recommend Om Obedience! read more

We used Michaela with our previous dog. We paid for an individual session and she came over to meet our Lhasa Apso. She was very nice and our dog liked her. She recommended an elementary training class, even though he was 8 years old. We signed up and brought him to the class, but it wasn't the right fit for him. He already knew the basic commands and needed help with other issues. We reached out and asked if we could stop the class, but use the fee towards another individual session, to which Michaela agreed. Some health issues later, we had to put our dog down. We are now in the process of adopting a another dog. When both my husband and I reached out to Michaela via email, we received no response. I'm not sure how her classes would be for a puppy. She was nice one-on-one, but the lack of communication and follow through with the fee is a bit disheartening. read more

My wife & I recently started Puppy Preschool with our German Shepherd puppy. Michaela is a great trainer. It has been about 13 years since I have had a puppy. Her class is the perfect course to get back into the puppy life. We are so excited to work with Michaela and make Jax the best dog he can be. We've been going to Michaela for 3 courses now and plan to keep coming back for more. She has been able to help us train our Golden Retriever puppy and transition her from being your typical "psycho puppy" into an extremely well behaved dog. Michaela is amazing! My currently two year old puggle took her puppy preschool class, located at our vet's office, and also took the elementary level located in Holbrook. Both classes were fantastic and both my dog and I learned so much. I've had dogs my whole life; but this is the first time I've attended training classes. I just got another puppy. A new training school opened up at the end of my street (six houses away) and I still did not hesitate to return to OM Obedience for training classes. We are currently in the middle of our training and it's been as wonderful as the first time. The advice Michaela gives while teaching you how to work best with your dog is priceless. I've also had to reach out to her with a puppy question during the off hours (and Christmas mind you) and she returned my email promptly. She is extremely dedicated. I've read through some other reviews and cannot disagree more with some of the negative ones (seems to be the same family?). I've had such a different experience with two dogs in her classes. She gives out a clicker the first lesson. I've lost clickers (with my first) and she has supplied another without batting an eye. The three classes I have taken with her have not even come close to being over crowded. And to the comment that OM Obedience is expensive; although we would have returned to Michaela anyway, I looked into the training school down the street from me and OM Obedience was much more reasonably priced. I cannot recommend OM Obedience and Michaela enough. She is dedicated, responsible, loving to the dogs and clearly loves what she does. read more

My chihuahua Zeus needed some serious behavior help. When I moved to Bridgewater, I googled dog trainers. We did a 10 week course and at the end my dog's behavior problems were pretty much unchanged. After a few months I found Michaela on facebook - we have had 3 sessions with her and my dog is already showing progress. I am excited to start reactive dog training with him so he can socialize with other dogs in a controlled environment. I am SO glad we found her. My only regret is not finding her sooner!! read more

We recently adopted our first puppy and knew we needed to train her both for her and for ourselves, since we had no previous experience with dogs. We heard about OM Obedience and knew it was the place for us. The minute we attended her first puppy pre-school class and saw how our puppy reacted to commands, we were thrilled! Michaela is so patient and such a great trainer and our puppy has learned a lot. Our puppy has learned to sit, lay down, stay and most importantly how to play with other dogs. Could not agree more with the overpriced and overcrowded class. Michaela barely had any control of the large group of dogs and people crowded into a tiny indoor space and did not even provide a clicker for me to work with my dog at the class. More importantly than disorganization is her dishonesty. My wife and I reached out to Michaela via two separate emails about transferring fees we paid for a previous dog, but never utilized because we lost him. Michaela only replied to us after a negative Yelp review. Not only was she unprofessional and condescending, but she was completely inaccurate in stating that she spoke to several colleagues about finding our dog a home, and perhaps she should bill us for her time she took to do this. She must have us confused with another client because this never happened. We canceled one in-home class, and unfortunately we lost our dog a month later. I am completely floored by her response and lack of organization, professionalism, and tact. Not only will I never utilize her services again, but as a soon to be local resident of the town where Om Obedience is located, I will be sure to offer my opinion and experience with this business, with friends, family, and social media. When I met my best friend, and the love of my life - a chocolate labrador retriever, I loved everything about him, but knew there was some work we needed to do. He was my very first puppy and it was sheer luck that when I signed us up for training, we landed in Michaela's class. Labrador retrievers are considered a highly-trainable breed, so I thought we'd breeze right through...but what I never counted on was my puppy's personality being an issue. He's extremely smart - he knows all the commands - he just doesn't understand they're not optional. This made things harder than I thought they would be. So, early-on, I decided I didn't want to diminish my best friend's personality, rather, I just wanted to know how to communicate with him so we could have a great life together. And that is exactly what Michaela helped us do. We started with her in puppy classes and with her help and guidance, my best friend achieved not just his S.T.A.R Puppy award, but went all the way through and got his CGC!! It was a lot of work, but I am very proud of what we accomplished. Throughout our time in Michaela's classes, I incessantly peppered her with questions and she always had really helpful answers. Michaela's approach lends to a positive and fun environment in her classes and allows for everyone to participate in their own way, while still coming away with something helpful. Michaela also doesn't just pass her clients along to the next level if they didn't earn it or aren't quite ready for it, which I think is fantastic - it proves that she's not taking money & telling people what they want to hear. For example, my best friend passed Michaela's Intermediate class, but she made it clear he wasn't quite ready for Advanced at the time. So, per Michaela's advice, I spent a few weeks working with him outside of classes and eventually he was ready to move on to her Advanced group! I recommend Michaela often. And I tell everyone the same thing - I have the relationship that I have with my puppy because of what Michaela taught us both. We learned how to communciate with one another and because of that, he knows what's expected of him and that he's an important & much loved family member in our home! read more
