After losing my 12-year-old GSD Emily during the pandemic - Maggie Mae, a nine-week-old Shiloh Shepherd, joined the family. Although an intelligent beauty Maggie as she matured along with being incredibly strong and a bit stubborn, was highly energetic and determined to scale every rock wall and fence we passed while walking. In addition, no dog or person was too small or large to deter her from attempting to drag me over to jump and greet whoever waited. As a result, I had many abbreviated walks, with at least two incidents involving me on the ground - embarrassed and suffering a few scrapes. My trainer for my previous GSDs had relocated to a more southern state but told me to go to Mike at Complete K9 and no one else. So, I worked with Mike with some private lessons and then semi-private with another client and her Lab. Mike's techniques were deceivingly simple - minimum commands, confident instruction, and consistency. The private lessons set the groundwork. Later off-leash sessions with multiple dogs and owners fine-tuned our dog-owner confidence and helped Maggie to smooth out her social skills with other dogs and their owners - jumping stopped, and interactions were controlled and calmer. Recently "our" new skills came into play when due to large obscuring hedges, we walked around a corner and into the path of an oncoming woman walking a young child and a large dog that went went crazy upon seeing Maggie. Maggie stayed calm and on command, went down, and remained until the poor lady dragged the dog past us. We continued without incident. I went to complete k9 to unfortunately turn over a dog at the recommendation of a rescue organization. Mike was extremely unwelcoming and didn't ask any questions. So, I offered my experiences so far with the rescue. Jay G is right he immediately took my dog and threw him in the back area. Mike was extremely patronizing, aggressive, contradictory, and put his hands on my dad. I honestly think he might be mentally unstable. He spent an entire 30 mins insulting my family and I before I told him I'm leaving. I never even had the chance to say good bye. read more

My Fiancé and I brought our lab to Mike after he began showing signs of aggression over food and guarding certain objects around the house. Mike sold us a package of 6 training sessions, which we paid upfront. We made it abundantly clear to Mike that our #1 concern was addressing the aggressive behaviors. After completing 5 of the 6 training sessions Mike had not spent any time on any of the issues we had discussed at length in the initial consultation, so we chose to discontinue training with Mike. We reached out to Mike numerous times to collect the amount of the final session that we never completed (roughly $130). After many months of calling and leaving messages he finally called us back. After a lot of back and forth he finally agreed to refund us $100 for the incomplete service. It has been 6 weeks and we have still not received our refund. Mike is not a bad trainer, but if you use his service to try to fix a specific aggression issue make sure to never pay him in full up front because you will never see a refund when he doesn't address your dog's issues. We came to Mike for training with two German shepherds, one newly adopted as an older puppy and definitely in need of training. Mike has been great with both of our dogs. Both respond positively to his consistency, firmness, and care. Not only does he offer the one-on-one training, but between trainings we have participated in his group walks once a week. These walks allow us to walk our dogs in a group setting, which gives us a chance to work on some of the skills they need of paying attention with the distraction of other dogs, people, and nature while having Mike there to correct us and to intervene when needed. This has been just what we needed, and we are very happy with the results so far. In fact, we will be boarding our dogs for the first time and we feel confident that we are leaving them in good hands with Mike. read more

Both training and boarding was a terrible experience. Only completed the training because we had paid upfront for it. Mike was aggressive with my dog and family-very scary. When I picked up my dog from boarding-realized he was kept in a crate and had a urine soaked blanket. Buyer beware. read more

We brought our dog to Michael after having so-so success with big box pet store trainers. His training and techniques have made both our lives and our dog's life much richer. We can now comfortably take him downtown, to dog parks, and even to outdoor cafés with confidence that we can control him. Our dog gets to enjoy life much more now as he is much more confident because we are much more confident. We also have had great experience boarding our dog with Complete K9. We would love if our pup could always be with us but when he can't we are lucky to have Complete K9 as our next best choice. read more

I would never go here again. Brought our dog here for training for $100 per session and all that happened was the trainer told us stories the whole entire hour. I think he spoke 4 words to my dog. Also boarded him here once AND ONCE WAS ENOUGH. Upon arrival, the owner took our dog and threw...yes threw....him into the fenced area. We didn't even have a chance to say goodbye to our family member. I think he was kept in a cage the entire time. Will NEVER EVER go back here. If you're looking for a place that cares for the pets that are staying with them, go to JM Pet Resort in Brockton. They are fabulous. My dogs been there a few times and loves it. read more
