I was very disappointed by the service I received during my move. Two of the three members of the moving crew did a good job, a third was less motivated and left boxes in random rooms despite being clearly labeled. I had more miscellaneous scratches than expected on wooden floors and dinged the paint. But I would not have left a bad review based on that. When the crew arrived, they told me that they didn't have enough time to do my move because they had a seven hour move scheduled afterwards. I told them that I had described the situation to the estimator, saying that I could tell them the big items but simply had no idea how many boxes I would have. She suggested a number and gave me an hourly rate which I found acceptable, assuming that they would stay until the work was done at that hourly rate. Instead, I got 2/3 of my house moved. Some of that was my fault because I could've been more accurate if I had been finished packing when I made the appointment, but based on the shear number of rooms and large items I described the estimator could've done a much better job, or told me to call back as the moving day got closer so that I could update the estimate to assure enough time. Even if that, I would've gone back to the devil I knew too to finish the move. There were a few things that needed to be corrected from the move the prior weekend that I assumed they would do when they came back out, but when I called the next week to schedule the second move, the estimator he told me that he would charge for it in my current move despite the fact that it was work was left undone from the previous move. When I noted this, he said that they would've sent a crew out at no charge but they couldn't do it for free when they were sending new crew out. I'll start off with a compliment so you know I'm not just a scorned customer who likes to complain. I've used 2 Men and a Truck before several times and they delivered a quality, timely and professional experience. That was the past experiences. This is now. I recently used this company to move from a 2 bedroom apartment to another 2 bedroom apartment (simple move). It was absolutely horrific. First of all, the movers were two hours late. I realize this happens in business. It's life. The problem is that the "crew" that was moving me did not call to update me on this which put our move right around rush hour traffic as opposed to 115pm which is when they were supposed to be there. I suppose I could get past this if it was the only thing that happened. Here's the more important items about the move: the 3 movers in my "crew" were unprofessional, very slow, very unmotivated, they tore my leather couch in more than 1 place (pictures attached), they chipped a very expensive custom frame I had made for an art piece, they damaged 2 lights in the elevator in my new building, they literally said (BEFORE THEY UNLOADED MY LEATER COUCH FROM THEIR TRUCK) that it would not be able to fit in the elevator or stairwell (lo and behold after I paid them each $40 cash or $120 total) the couch suddenly was able to make it from their truck to my apartment (with gouges/rips in two distinct areas -- pictures attached). In addition to this, the office quote that I received wasn't realistic to the actual time by about 2-3 hours and I had the movers take less items than I originally had quoted because I could see how poorly this move was going to be. I have not received a call back or acknowledgement of my disappointment in terms of professionalism and the damages to property. I should have refused to pay but I wasn't sure what to do as I felt somewhat hostage because I was at the mercy of the movers (once they have your belongings and start the move you're basically stuck with them. Unfortunately, there's no pause or shut-off button. As a part of life, moving has to be one of the top 5 most stressful things a healthy individual will go through. Two Men and A Truck managed to make this already expensive experience extremely stressful, unpleasant, etc. I will never use this company again and I wouldn't let a family member or friend use them either. I would have been better off canceling the move when the unprofessional, tardy, and sloppy movers got to my starting property and delayed the move until I found another company. But hindsight is 20/20. Terrible experience. I wouldn't have used these guys for free let alone $900 plus. I feel violated and bewildered about this whole moving experience. I'll start off by saying the movers were great, they worked fast and carefully. However, they did damage a dresser, I called the office and talked to James at the office. James scheduled a time to have the item picked up for repair. I took off work at the time to meet them to pick up the item and no one showed up. When I called no one would answer the phone. When I finally did get a hold of James again he told me "they were moving offices". He said he would send me a check for $200 to get the item repaired and to compensate me for taking the time off. 4 months later and still no check. I had two men and a truck of Omaha move us last week. The process started by filling out an inventory sheet. I filled it out and sent it back. They then gave me an estimated price, which I agreed to. I then updated it about a week before the move and allowed them to update the estimate. They never came over to the house to look at the things we planned to move. I received no instructions (what needed disassembly) afterwards other than I would be notified in advance of the mower arriving. I hurriedly disassembled one of our beds (air bed) and the washer dryer while the movers were there. Had I known I would have done that before they arrived. They had three workers. All very nice and courteous. Long story short they were unable to move everything that I needed moved. I had couple of larger items that did not make the trip. I did not add anything, the truck they used was not big enough. The movers did not have all the tools they needed. They had to borrow a socket wrench and socket from me to help. They should have had an appliance dolly to help them. I felt bad for them. This was not the three guys fault. So now I was left in a lurch. The movers called their corporate office to see if there should be any price reductions due to not delivering everything we originally agreed to on the inventory sheet. Christine I think her name was said no. Long story short the actual movers did ok but the corporate office and their processes need to be improved. Ultimately, I will have to rent a u-haul to finish their job. I tipped each of the workers for being courteous and hard working but in my opinion I would not recommend this moving company if asked based on their processes (not understanding what needed to be moved, lack of instructions and not very customer service oriented). read more

We have used them 3 times in the last 2 years. The first 2 moves went pretty smoothly. This last move they charged us for the truck just sitting waiting to go to the next job and then charged us for 45 minutes of travel time back to their warehouse, which was actually only 20 minutes away just in case the guys needed to get something for the next move. However, they showed up at our job with just a two wheeler and one flat dolly. We were definitely overcharged and will not be using them again. read more

I previously moved places with Two Men and a Truck. The move was smooth and I wanted to hire them again for their services. I asked Drew about the claims process in case of damages as I had not sprung for the protection last time. He told me that's not his department and he doesn't want to say the wrong thing. I became wary and said I just want to know the basic process, does someone come out to inspect the item, is it simply sending pictures and a receipt. He became very defensive, got loud, and explained that its like when you call a bank and ask them a question outside of their department. Its not their job and you can't expect to get an answer. You wrote a response on another site that your trucks all have surveillance and told me to call and you would send a copy of it. When i called to get a copy of the video i was told this was a mistake and your trucks do not have surveillance. i was told the response was posted by your marketing department and they were mistaken.You can see from the pictures your truck made 4 attempts at reversing in. You can see the tyre marks. The picture you are referring to was the fourth attempt. So far you have offered to send your men out to fix it, then you offered to send a contractor out to look at it and now you are back to denying you had anything to do with it. A mark of a good company is, how they handle situations when things don't go according to plan. Unfortunately, what I have found is two men and a truck don't handle things well enough to earn their customers trust. My initial experience with getting a quote, finalizing dates for the move went well. On the day of the move, the movers tried to convince me that the truck was at capacity and they had to leave behind a few items, even though I had given the full list of items for the move when getting the quote. So, they left behind about $400 worth of items which we had to give away. I let it slide as my experience until that point with them was good. And during the move, the table top of our dining table got damaged. The guys who were doing the move reassured us that there is insurance and we would be paid for the damage etc. They opened a claim and then crickets. I would call them once or twice a week, they would say that the claims specialist is away or on another call and they would take my details and assure me that the specialist would call me back. This went on for two months. Finally, I had enough of waiting and called them one last time and said that I would talk to my credit card company and dispute the payment. Within 2 hours, I got an email response from the specialist that they would pay me, but only about 25% of the replacement cost of the damaged table top. The specialist claimed that the reason for the delayed response of 2 months was because she was away on leave, YIKES! I hope they aren't that slow to all the damage claims. I called them once again to ask how am I supposed to replace it with only 25% of the funds and they said that they only pay depreciated value. Their customer service is very unsatisfactory. If you are working with them, just pray that things don't go south. read more

Received a quote to move our home to another state. Went through the house room by room over the phone to make sure we would get the right size truck wear a shirt several times it would be fine. Day of the move the Driver again assured us that our contents of the home will fit in the truck they brought. It was not until 40 minutes before we needed to be out of the house that he came in and told us it was not gonna fit. We had to scramble and get a U-Haul that we then had to drive to the next state costing us an additional $800. This was on top of the very expensive $5700 2 men and a truck charged us. They refused to reimburse us of the additional U-Haul charge and refused to reimburse us for damages done to the contents of our box's. Please do yourself a favor and do not use this company. The manager Christina said, "Her apartment smelled like smoke and animals" My Mother in law does NOT smoke or have any animals! My elderly mother in law was finally ready to move closer to us and hired Two Men to come and pack up her belongings and move them to her new apartment. She had her things for them to pack in piles in some rooms (NOT hoarder like piles) organized piles of things they could pack. Three men came to her apartment she's been in for over 20 years, walked in and turned around and left. COMPLETELY WORTHLESS COMPANY. Being that it is hard for her to walk, she did the best she could to get ready for them to come. Hours later we STILL have not heard back from anyone. My husband left a message questioning them, NO CALL BACK. I followed up and left a generic message, they called me back within 10 minutes because they thought I wanted to hire them. Duane who I spoke with played it off like he couldn't transfer me to anyone and he is just "the quotes guy". The workers on site tried (despite a major language barrier) to rectify the situation. I don't blame 2 men and a truck for the miscommunication , it was more a product of the system. We figured it out, charged a fee and loaded the trucks. At the end of each day, we paid the balance due before the workers left the site. Fast forward cloys to a month later. We get an email asking for an additional $592 dollars. I called 9 times to get someone on the phone (the 9th call I demanded that they get someone on the phone). Christine was not able to tell me WHY I was being billed additional money for a job 30 days earlier! She simply told me that they had a clerical error and offered me a payment plan. I left the manager a message to call. I received ZERO additional communication until a collection agency called me about the debt. I left an additional phone message and email today. "Helpers" showed up and within 5 minutes, complained that they couldn't do the job because one guy had forgotten his allergy meds (I had a cat). Mind you, I'd already put down a $100 security deposit. I've called this company multiple times about a refund since the cancelation was of no fault of mine. They keep saying they're checking on the status of my deposit refund and that it's just taking a minute. They say they'll call back with an update. I never receive any call backs out of the 10+ times I had called (over the span of 30+ days). Whenever I am asking what the reason for the cancelation was, I get different responses. First it was the cat allergies. Then it was "feces in the home" (false, & they claimed they had pictures, but I've asked twice now for those pictures; still havent been provided......because there was none). Now it's that there were chickens in my home (also false, there was a torn-up dog bed I told them to not even touch because it was trash, nothing in the basement was going). Now here, you have this company that has no issues lying to your face and ripping you off. I just paid this company $100 to stand around, complain about work & lie to my face. -10/10, would NEVER recommend. I recently moved my belongings from my place in Bellevue, Nebraska to storage. The movers gave ample advanced notice they were on the way. They arrived with masks in place. Upon arrival they evaluated the move in a professional manner. The move was efficient and flawless. They were very careful with my furniture and boxes. They were kind and very nice movers. Terrible!!! They showed up unprepared, borrowed our tools (which we needed to pack), lost pieces from taking furniture apart, refused to take apart furniture that really needed it (like kitchen table legs), failed to wrap furniture (even left some behind in the house!), loaded the items in the truck poorly, causing damage to pieces. This also caused us not to be able to fit everything. We had to be out the next day, so it's not like we could just hire new movers. I had to wait weeks to hear back from customer service, and they don't care at all. Huge joke. I urge you to research your movers and go with a small local company. I used 2Men again to move to my new house and 6 pieces of new furniture were damaged, scratched, or scuffed badly. When I went back to 2Men they said they couldn't take responsibility since items could have moved, and I only had 30 days to place a claim. What an unprofessional joke! Two Men and a Truck have very poor ethical standards for running their business, BEWARE! This is the third and final time we will be using them. First off they damaged three things during the second portion of the move at our new home, sent someone to repair, which he did, but not to the state it was prior to the damage (door damage was so bad, door probably should have been replaced, but they spackled it and painted over it with a clear blemish still visible). Our second leg of the move was quoted for 4 - 5.25 hours. The team took under three hours to complete. The movers and I signed all the paperwork for the hours worked with the additional drive time added at the end, prior to them leaving. They then sent out a repair man 4 days later to "semi-fix" the damages done. After the repair man came, two days later we get a call stating that they have to charge me for an extra hour because their "system" wasn't running right and they actually under charged, me, using their Truck GPS as their excuse to why they need to charge me an extra hour. Facts are facts: I have them at my house on my ring doorbell for well under 3 hours, yet they say their truck didn't return to office until "x'' time stating, "well, sir, we have truck GPS". On top of all this, I started receiving text messages from their movers to loan them money for a moving deposit they needed at a new apartment; the same mover that asked me for a phone charger and then sat on my fireplace for 20 mins during the first portion of the move "because his phone was almost dead". Save your money and use someone else, completely not worth the money or the aggravation of poor business ethics/practices. read more

The owner told me to reach out to him to get assistance with our bill being high. i left messages for him but he never called me back. one thing to add from my initial review is that I mentioned that my mom moved from a 1700 square foot house into a storage shed. The 3 men were incredibly and painfully slow to where they said that they would have to come back another time to complete the move, yet they charged my mom $400 in extra charges. Black Belt Movers did this exact move -- pack and move a 500sf 1BR apartment -- three other times in three hours, start to finish, for $750. They were unavailable, so I hired Two Men and a Truck, who gave me a similar estimate, so I hired them. They took FIVE hours and charged $1300. Not only did they take five hours, I they didn't even complete the job -- I was so frustrated with their pace that I jumped in and started packing and moving stuff myself, including calling my kids to help me move furniture. I asked the movers to pick up the pace; the only result was that I got a call from the manager, who vaguely promised to "see what he could do," and he did NOTHING. Two Men and not enough Truck underestimated space for the move and showed up on moving day with a truck that was not sufficient for the task at hand. The movers, basically looked at me and asked, " So what is your plan for the rest of this stuff because the truck is almost full". I guess that was what I was paying for, them to have 80% of a plan. The movers indicated this had happening a lot lately, make what you will of that. Based on my experience with everyone at this company except the movers/packers (who both did good work) I'd say you have a company taking advantage of everyone not in the office, including the customer. I responded to their claims department's feedback email with my concerns and did not get a response (8 days ago)...I did get a fraudulent charge on my card for 329 dollars after the final bill was paid out (like a week after the move had been completed and suspiciously timed right after my email response). I called to address this and spoke with the gentlemen who estimated my move, he passed me on to their "billing expert" who was "tied up at the moment". He said to leave a message and she would get back to me....that was two days ago. I initiated a fraud alert on my card with my bank and am disputing the charges as there is no response from these grifters. I would like to state that despite leaving enough of my belongings behind to fill a 15 ft Uhaul I still felt the movers and packers did a good job and gave them a decent cash tip...perhaps that is what the mystery charge is, a surprise gratuity that the company can skim some off the top from the people actually working. The guys who moved me were hard workers and I'd say if you read this review, go work for a better company. I do not expect perfection but I do expect a company to adhere to its own policies and have accountability. I booked my move with them and reserved 3 TV boxes for the three large televisions that were included in my belongings to be moved. I also paid for the extended damages coverage. The movers elected not to pack the TVs in boxes, and instead wrap them in moving blankets and strapped them to the interior of the moving truck. I believe they were strapped too tightly because 2 of the three TVs are TOAST now-display nothing but bubbles, lines, and blurs. I called right away to report the damages and file a claim. I was told since it was the weekend I'd hear something from the claims department first thing Monday morning-that doesn't happen. I call Tuesday and am assured someone will reach out that day. Again nothing. Today is Wednesday and now strangely enough I can't seem to get through to a live person at all, no matter what time I call. So I've got two LED TVs that are now giant paper weights; I paid for the extended damage insurance and I can't even file a claim for my damaged goods because they don't return phone calls or answer the phone. This was my second and it will be my LAST time using this company. I strongly recommend NOT using a company that has this kind of business practice. read more

Definitely not a good move experience. The estimator that got me to book said it would be 2.5 hours. It actually took 4.5 hours because he only estimated for furniture and not any boxes. The movers that did my job were not very careful with my belongings. I asked them not to use a decorative cart as a cart to load boxes but they did it anyway and scratched the top. They didn't wrap my couch and the cushions were on the apartment hallway floor and the bed of the truck. They also didn't completely put my bed back together. I used Two Men and a Truck Council Bluffs for my move to About 3 hrs away. We packed out $600 TV back in the original box with the foam. I pointed out to the movers that the TV box was the actual TV when they arrived. The TV arrived broken and when I filed a claim with the company they have not responded to the claim or my emails asking about it. I am severely disappointed! read more

I have to say I have only used this company when moving. And I have moved several times. This company came through for me in a pinch when I mistakenly deviated from using them to another company- who failed to show up on the day of my move when I had tenants scheduled to be in the following day. 2M came same day and there was no up charge. They are consistently professional and efficient. I have never had damage to my residences or my furniture when using them. Lesson learned. Don't skimp. If you have more than a couple pick up trucks full of stuff at this point in your life- spend the few hundred and hire it out! read more

I could not have been unhappier with my move with Two Men and A Truck. I am on Disability so my income is low. I had priced a few of the companies and had TMAT come out to give me an estimate. The manager came and I showed him exactly what I was moving. He quoted me 4-5 hours at $100+ hour plus travel time. In advance I had borrowed a truck and had gotten many of my items over to the new location. These items included large oriental type rugs, bedframe, heavy mattress set, end tables, chairs, artwork...some of which were large, my large t.v., bookcase (small) all of my kitchen china, glasses, spices, pots and pans, lamps...virtually anything I could get. I packed the books and got them down to the main door so they would be easy to load. I literally tried to make this the easiest move possible. The building had an elevator and I was on the 2nd floor. When a national company had moved me they had made great use of the elevator, having one man load, one man unload when it reached the destination and one take it from the truck. It was very efficient. The guys from TMAT didn't do this. Many times I saw them with one or two boxes in their hands and not even using the dollies which were there. Sometimes I would look for them and could not even find them...or worse found them hanging out at the truck not doing anything. Getting close to the 5th hour I started to get worried as they had not yet finished packing up the truck from the original destination and we did not even get over to the new house yet. (Please know that I had called Kraig, the manager and the one who gave me the original estimate) three times prior to the move to verify that the estimate would be the same, or hopefully less as so much of my stuff had gotten moved...NO RESPONSE. The acting manager came and he did get the crew to unload the items. He charged me $551 (which I have a copy of their invoice and payment) and said the manager Kraig was out of town but would call me the next day. They were there almost 8 hours (maybe more) which was DOUBLE what they estimated. I called Kraig myself finally and discussed the bill. I was very upset as this is not what I had been quoted. I could understand a little over the estimate...but this is what these guys do for a living and to have the cost doubled for a lessor amount of work was not appropriate and just plain wrong. During my conversation with the manager I explained that I could not afford an additional $789+ bill. That the reason I had gotten an estimate was so that I could stay within my budget and that I was on a fixed, protected income (SSDI due to disability). I just now received a collection notice from General Service Bureau requesting that I pay an additional $782. I have sent them the Home Moving Sheet from TMAT which showed the total due: $551.08 and Total Received was $551.08. Also, I have had items broken, doorways dented and paint scaped off doorways due to the movers trying to squeeze a refrigerator through a doorway without first taking the doors off, and boxes put in the wrong places/floors, even though I indicated to the movers what floor/room they should be in. Also, I had a box of plants and they never let me know which one of the boxes they were in. Would I use them again...Absolutely Not!!! I am writing this so that others may not be surprised as well. I have now contacted the collections agency and put this into dispute as well as the BBB and the Attorney General's Office. read more

Move went pretty well except they didn't have the tools to take apart my bed at the old place so I found something to borrow from my apartment maintenance. They stated they have issues with movers stealing tools and that's what they think happened to their wrenches. We get to the new place and I don't think about the bed again. Fast forward a few months and getting in to bed one night when the rail collapses causing the headboard and footboard to cave in. I manage to get the mattress and box spring off and none of the hardware was tightened. At no point did they bring it to my attention that they didn't have the BASIC tools, not to mention commonly used when building and taking apart furniture, to properly put my bed back together or ask if I could get the tools again. Luckily I can buy new rails, but this was irresponsible,dangerous, and expensive. My whole move cost about $650 and new rails will cost over $200. I would also like note that I emailed them over a week ago but they haven't responded. They do seem to respond to Yelp reviews quickly read more

The worst possible experience I have ever encountered. Not only did the crew get "lost" twice and still ran the timer, they completely ripped the paint off of a dresser and a leather couch causing damage to my door hinges ripping paint off. They did a damage report and have yet to contact me. It has been three weeks and I have left 6 messages. Do not pay for this over priced garbage of a company. read more
