Big fan of Omakai! This was my first time at the Wynwood location and as anticipated, it did not disappoint! The freshest tasting sushi at great prices in my opinion. If you happen to go during happy hour, they have great food and drink deals that you just cannot beat anywhere else. I did try the unagi foie gras for the first time and it was delicious! I will def be getting that every time I go. I didn't catch his name, but our server was extremely polite and helpful, which always makes the visit that much better! I was so hungry I forgot to take pics!

If you're in Miami and NOT going to Omakai... what are you even doing? I booked the Oma Deluxe experience after randomly finding Omakai on the DoorDash app under the Reservations tab (yes, DoorDash came through!). Honestly, best accidental discovery ever. From the moment I sat down, the vibe was warm, modern, and effortlessly cool--special but never pretentious. And then came the real magic... the food. Every piece of nigiri was like a tiny poem. The texture, the freshness, the balance--chef's kiss doesn't even begin to describe it. At one point I swear I closed my eyes and forgot I had real-world responsibilities. The staff deserves their own spotlight. Friendly, patient, and clearly passionate, they made the entire night feel like an experience rather than just a meal. That kind of energy? Rare. Omakai nails it. I'm traveling from NJ and now Omakai is officially on my must-visit list every time I'm in Miami. If you want an omakase experience that's fun, flavorful, and unforgettable, run--don't walk--to Omakai. Your taste buds will send you a thank-you note.

We found this place to have a great date night in a Wednesday night. We were looking for a place with rolls, and I was kinda bummed they don't have rolls (except hand rolls); however.. decides to try it out. DID NOT DISSAPPOINT. Let's start with parking, Wednesday night very easy working in front with mobile app. Weekends might be full since I know wynwood is very popular. We were seated immediately. For a Wednesday late night the place still had a couple tables with people. Logan was our server, what an amazing experience he delivered. Offered recommendations, ask what we usually liked, and he was 100% on point. We tried a variety of nigiri and we couldn't stop ordering. The freshness of fish is delightful. Melts in your mouth. Flavors very well paired to deliver an exquisite experience. .

Another great experience dining here for my friends bday. We were supposed to go somewhere else but convinced them this was better. They were not disappointed either! We got welcome shots for the bday girl but I don't drink. I'm happy they had non alcoholic option for me (peach Bellini). It was refreshing and peachy. Service has always been very good every time I've gone.

We stopped by after a night out in wynwood and they sat us right away as a walk in! This place is beautiful, but small, but intimate. We sat right at the bar. The staff is so kind from the waitress, to the server, to the food runner. I ordered the oma omakase. It started with an appetizer (they gave edamame with thick salt crystals, yum). Then they did their sashimi special with caramelized onions. Bonus points for giving two huge sides of ginger. The experience continued with: Kanpachi Nigiri Salmon Nigiri Yellowtail Nigiri Bluefin Tuna Nigiri And ended with 2 hand rolls (their special i believe it was salmon, and then a blue crab one). We had a great overall experience. There are better tasting sushi spots in my opinion but the service and ambiance make this a great place!

Christian provided an overall stellar service!! First time coming to Omakai and a truly felt welcomed from the moment I walked in. Came on a Thursday afternoon 30 minutes shy from their happy hour. However I opted for their Omakai experience and it did not disappoint, 17 incredible dishes. I also chose the Heaven Sake flight... Delish! I had an incredible experience and Christian made it all possible. I will definitely be back. I would've taken more pics but I just really wanted to enjoy and savor every bite!!

I ordered from Omakai Sushi on Uber Eats because a friend recommended it, but unfortunately my order arrived upside down and didn't taste as good as I hoped. The sushi was a bit too fishy, and I wish there were more sauces to enhance the flavor.

I had, and enjoyed immensely the summer set omakase. A delightful tasting and preview of what's to come next year. Hats off to the chef, a truly enjoyable and delectable sampling if the best sushi sashimi. Def gonna come back for more. Joselyn was my server and she was a sweetheart! Attentive and fast service, the restaurant was decorated with a modern clean look. Please try this while they have it

Omakai always hits. The atmosphere and service are always great, and the food is consistently fresh and full of flavor. The oma is one of my go-to choices, and I love rotating through different nigiri. Definitely part of my regular rotation.

This place is definitely more casual than other places that offer omakases, and I did not realize it's not a true style omakase where you're sitting at a sushi counter - they bring you the courses one by one still! With that said, $50 for about 8 nigiri, 2 hand rolls, and an appetizer is fairly priced. The sashimi special and bluefin nigiri were my favorites. The sushi rice was not what I expected either... it didn't have that sticky texture you'd expect. I liked how they didn't put a huge amount of rice per bite. You still leave very full! Service was good too. Next time I'd probably just check out happy hour and call it a day.

+.5 for service This was my group's first meal after arriving in Miami from Toronto. Since it was Christmas Day, not many places are open, but this was! We were a party of 5, and after going thru the menu and looking at reviews here we decided on 4 OMA Deluxes and some a la carte options to fill the 5th party. Each of the OMA Deluxe items were amazing, and the servers will explain exactly what's included in each of the dishes. You honestly get excellent value out of the $50 you pay, even if the portions are on the smaller size. Sucks that the exchange rate is so bad for us Canadians right now. The hand rolls in particular were amazing, it's not like the typical cone-shaped hand rolls that many are accustomed to. Service was excellent here. Overall an excellent introduction meal for my group for our first night in Florida.

I am a huge fan of Omakai in the grove so I have been wanting to try this new location as it is actually closer to me. I came here with a couple friends during happy hour. They have great deals. The food is always good too. Our server was also attentive. My one reservation I have was the smell of fish in the restaurant was super pungent.

The attention to detail is so thorough and wonderful. It was truly an experience for multiple senses. It smelled really nice inside, the greeters were very pleasant and it is decorated well. The presentation of the utensils was careful and purposeful. The chopsticks and holder were so cute that I considered theft, but that wouldn't be very neighborly of me. (Although I believe the chopsticks were perfectly fine to take as they're wood and that seems a bit unsanitary to reuse, but please correct me if I'm wrong). I tried a green apple sake that was so fresh, refreshing and mildly sweet. I don't typically enjoy sake but this changed my mind. I had the opportunity to sample multiple flavors and green apple was a front runner. The salmon sashimi came with a pickled onion that paired so well. I'd never had it like that and now I don't know if I can have it any other way. The portions are pretty small so be prepared for that. Standard sushi pricing with smaller than average portions. Might be a Miami thing. The miso soup was delightful and it's served traditionally so you are not provided a spoon initially but you are able to request one. The tuna was fresh and delicious. They gave three cuts from different areas of the dish and you get to taste the difference between the leaner cuts and the fattier cuts.

I've been visiting a lot recently, and even joined their wine club which offers two curated wines a month. Locally owned and operated, I feel really good supporting a place that the owners put so much effort into to offer such a gem of a spot for locals. I've tried a lot of wines here, and I'm always amazed at finding something new to me that I enjoy. If you haven't been, it's the perfect place for a date, a girls night, or a day for yourself. They also have good snacks and charcuterie for you to munch on while you drink vino. Don't know much about wine? No problem. Their team will point you in the right direction and they have something for everyone. This is an approachable wine bar- they want you to enjoy the wine as much as they do and I love that about Magie. This spot has a nice indoor space and a beautiful outdoor area. They also have a sister location in the Grove.

There is a parking lot right on the side of the building, but if that lot is full, there is also street parking, and parking across the street in a lot behind the Citadel. The service here was great! All of the staff were very nice and welcoming. The set up of the lounge is also very cozy. There is plenty of space for people to sit whether you're on a date or with a small group, but seating is first come first serve, so if you're coming with a group it's better to get there earlier in the evening so you have a space comfortable enough for the size of your group. There is also indoor and outdoor seating which is nice. There are many wines to choose from and they also have a decent menu with light bites. We opted for the Dino nuggets and caviar which were a hit, the fried olives and some meats and cheeses with some cornishons, fig jam and a sliced baguette. Overall this place has a great vibe to it and I heard they host events every so often. I highly recommend it if you're looking for a nice space to chill with some friends and enjoy a nice spot in Miami.

The first location in the River is better imo because the location is bigger, there is plenty more seating than the Grove location. Although, I still enjoyed my time at this location as well. Sooo how it works is that you go inside and pick a bottle of wine from the fridges. You can also order by the glass if you aren't a big drinker or if you want to try different wines. The bottles are moderately priced depending on your selection. We chose an orange wine and it was nice, very refreshing, you can really get that citrus essence with every sip. Another thing that they have is that you can pick different cheeses and meats and they will build you a charcuterie board. I love this because it is all based on your selection, nothing will go to waste. They also have food you can order. A lot of people love the nuggets with caviar. I think they are decent imo but I'm not like in love with them. Parking can be a bit annoying... If there isn't street parking, you can also park in the garage. The service was good, the staff was friendly. The only thing that was a hassle was getting a table. We had to wait a bit in order for a table to become available. Overall, this spot is a very cozy place to hang and mingle with friends.

As others have stated, Magie is good in concept and we'll likely return here, but with just a bit…read moremore effort on their part this wine bar could be so much better IMO. Unlike some other reviewers that scoffed at the prices of the wine, that didn't bother me so much. We had a bottle here that cost $55 and it retails for about $28; I was OK with that, as all restaurants and wine bars have a markup above retail, and even when you go to spots like Happy Wine or El Carajo and pick out a bottle to drink while in their shop, they charge a corkage fee for that. What I did have a problem with is that, after the "service charge" and other fees were added on, our $55 bottle rang up to more than $73 in total, which was ludicrous. When we first arrived at Magie we were met by a young guy who pointed out the bottles and where the various charcuterie items are located in the coolers, and we were then pretty much left on our own. We really just wanted a glass of wine each, but unlike places like Vinoteca, here at Magie they had a very limited selection of wines by the glass, and the ones available all seemed to come in single-serve cans. We picked out a bottle to share, went to the register, paid and the guy opened it and handed us 2 glasses. When I returned to get napkins, the guy just motioned to where the napkins were so I could grab my own (after moving a delivery cart out of the way by myself so I could reach them). Again, though this place includes an automatic "service charge", we received zero actual "service" unless one considers the 45 seconds it takes to uncork our bottle and charge us for the purchase. We had a seat, had a glass of wine each and then re-corked our bottle of wine and took it with us. Overall I think Magie is a great concept with lots of potential. The inside seating area is interestingly decorated and outfitted with lots of eclectic furniture and items on the walls, and the relatively large patio seating out front with tables for 2 to 8 people is shielded from the adjacent street/traffic and shaded by lots of trees and greenery. The ambiance overall is really very nice. The service, however, was non-existent, especially considering the automatic charge for that, and while prices of at least some wines aren't terribly out of line, the fact that all the service charges, taxes and fees added $20 to the cost of our bottle was a bit of a shocker. Magie should consider adding more wines by the glass IMO. Not just subpar quality single-serve cans, but decent wines, poured from a proper bottle with a topper that preserves the wine between pours like most every quality wine bar commonly offers. Lastly, while I don't think anyone expects linen napkins and white glove service, the paper plates and plastic cutlery customers are given to eat with are a bit off vs. what this place appears to be trying to be and the prices charged. The "F*ck Brunch" positioning statement on the back of the staffs' shirts was an interesting touch.

As soon as we sat down, I politely asked if we could be moved. The manager then told me that I had booked bar seating, which is simply not true. Why would anyone reserve bar seating a month in advance for Valentine's Day? I checked my reservation confirmation myself and it never stated that, and I even tried making another reservation to verify ..bar seating wasn't even an option. He told us he would "see what he could do," and we were left waiting at the bar with no water, no menus, no service, and no communication whatsoever. At one point, we even overheard another couple say their reservation was at the same time as ours, and they were seated at a table immediately. When I tried to politely ask for an update, the manager or owner completely ignored me. No acknowledgment, no apology, nothing. I was honestly in shock at how disrespectful and dismissive they were. We ended up getting up and leaving because of how uncomfortable and disrespected we felt. Valentine's Day is supposed to be special, and this restaurant completely ruined that experience.
