I texted Omar pretty late on a weekday, and he was able to squeeze me in for his last appointment of the day! He responded promptly and I was able to get in for a cut! It was pretty easy to find, within a salon-suite-type place. Clean area, simple, and efficient. I just came in for a regular cut, but he offers a couple of options like fades and stuff. I'm pretty easy, and hair grows back (for now), so I was comfortable coming to a new spot. I was happy with the cut. From seat to finish, probably took him like 10 minutes. It was really low stakes, and low pressure. He was quite firm with his movements, but I didn't mind! Simple all around, and I'd go back if I needed a cut in the area! read more

Omar is one of my favorite human beings not just my barber. Always happy, talkative and friendly. He's also one of the most hard working people I've ever met. Before covid he worked 8am-8pm 5 days a week. And all this while being deaf. The guy is a G, period! Along with being an amazing human he is the best barber in OC. I've tried this barber 3 times. Here's my detailed experience: 1: He's not safe! - One time he was shaving my beard with a straight razor and accidentally cut a small area. I started to bleed and saw him grab a little tool and rub it all over my bleeding wound in circular motion. I had no idea what it was so I asked him about it. He said it was salt and was good to stop the bleeding. Terrified I asked him if he cleaned the tool or used a new one before rubbing it on my open wound. He casually responds by saying "I rinsed it with water". I thought I misheard him so I later texted him after leaving and he said the same thing. Check the screenshot I included. 2: He's not clean! - He doesn't do a good job cleaning his tools or removing previous customer hairs off the floors, chairs or counters. He doesn't have a big shop. He has a little cube he's renting in a big office space. It's about as big as a small van. It's very stuffy and dirty in there. Every time I went here to see him he had a messy room. 3: He's not organized and overbooks! - He often answered his texts or took calls in the middle of my appointment. I also noticed 2 times that he overbooks himself. He would tell me to show up at a time and would tell someone else also to shop up 15 mins after my arrival and sit in a chair as he rushed to finish my cut in order to take the other customer. This may be a smart move to squeeze more clients in but in my case has resulted in multiple bad experiences due to him rushing. 4: He doesn't have much attention to detail! - Take a look at the image I've included. That's minutes after I left his business and was blown away by how terrible his beard lineup was. I've never had a barber do such a horrible job lining up my beard. The picture doesn't do Justice with how bad the lineup was but my friends who saw it in person joked about how they thought I had shaved my beard myself while drunk. I won't even mention the multiple cuts on my neck. 5: He's not respectful or nice! - After going home and realizing how bad he had messed up my beard lineup I was upset so I sent him a text explaining that he had done a bad job. This I believe is when a respectable business owner would take responsibility, apologize and admit that he may have rushed the process and maybe even offer a discount on the next visit. He straight up just didn't reply to me instead which made me want to share this review here. If you scroll down his page which is mostly 5 star reviews you'll see occasional 1 star reviews which instead of apologizing to he's commented back with rude and argumentative responses. In my experiences of using his services multiple times I don't believe he's a skilled, safe or friendly barber or a respectable business owner. I will not return here and would not recommend him to any of my friends. read more

Omar has been my regular barber over the last 7 years (maybe more). Hands down he's the most efficient. I literally take 10-15 minutes and that includes hair wash/shampoo. And for me, that's a huge advantage because time is our greatest currency - and with Omar, he's incredibly dependable, courteous and never disappoints. Great barber, this guy needs his own barbershop! Guy is fast and efficient. First time I tried his cut was worried he didn't spend enough time but he is a very skilled at his craft that he doesn't need a second pass. Omar is quick and an expert. He can get you in and out within 15 minutes. His prices are reasonable for the quality of cut he gives you. At the end of the haircut, his assistant gives you a shampoo wash and styles your hair. It is a prime spot for a quick cut before you need to go somewhere. His sessions are only by appointment. I am sure if you schedule at least half a day in advance, he would be able to get you in and out quickly. I would recommend him to anyone. read more

Omar has been my barber for the last 6-7 years. I'm kind of ashamed it took me this long to write a review, but better late than never. His work is excellent and lightning fast, with a great rate to boot. You can simply show up, if you get lucky there's no wait but most of the time there are 1 or 2 clients ahead. I almost always text him ahead to reserve a slot and avoid any wait. read more

I first found out about Omar from a Yelp search in 2012 as he was located down the street, and I was looking for a new place to get a haircut after moving to Irvine. Little did I know that I would continue to keep coming back month after month for the next 8 years! Omar is one of the most professional barbers I have worked with and he always provides a quality and consistent cut each and every single time. He is accommodating with his schedule and has been available every time I needed a cut on the day of. I have always hit him up the day before a holiday, interview, or event and he would fit me into his schedule within seconds. In a world where barbershops are dropping in quality consistency and prices are skyrocketing shamelessly, Omar the Barber comes to save the day. Johnson S compared him to Picasso, and I laughed this off as a mere hyperbole. What an ignorant idiot I was. Omar the Barber truly is an artist. I felt like Johnny Depp in Edward Scissorhands was working on my hair. He is freaking FAST, whoosh whoosh whoosh and suddenly I had the slickest, fliest most dopest hair cut I've had in a while. I've been to a lot of barbershops in the Irvine/Tustin/Santa Ana area, and Omar decimates the competition. As stated before, I was pleasantly surprised to find out the cut comes with a hair wash and styling at the end. I love getting my cuts from him because it is always a great looking cut, fairly priced and quick. I also love the fact that he does straight edge shaves. Not too many barbers can give a great cut and shave in under 25 mins start to finish. Last but not least, scheduling with Omar is easy and is done via text. This was my son's first time getting his beard cut.. Super friendly, very well mannered. My son asked how much more for a side shaving his hair .Omar said 25$ more. We said oh okay no thank. He replied right away he'll do the beard at NC ..We appreciated that . I ended up having to go to another barbershop and was forced to get a skin fade to fix this cut. Even the top had a bunch of uneven spots and was royally screwed. Avoid this place if unless you want to immediately go to another shop to have it fixed. Regardless of the discount received, this was insanely bad.
