I've experienced rare moments that truly represent the highest standard of customer service, and it's without a doubt that Andre and the Omega team embody every ounce of this in their day to day operations. I first visited the Omega boutique this past summer, as I was casually window shopping for my fiancé's birthday gift. I've always wanted to get him a unique timepiece, and had my sights set on a Speedmaster, which Peter and Andre (store manager) took notice of and graciously provided so much helpful information around. Throughout the entire process, nothing felt remotely pretentious or stuffy, which is typically the mood when you enter other peer luxury brand boutiques. I was welcomed so warmly by the entire staff, even as I was just initially browsing, and there was always a customer rep available to speak with. There was never any pressure to purchase anything, and there was no question of mine that went unanswered. Everything Peter and Andre shared with me about the Speedmaster only resulted in more questions from my side, as I was continuously floored by how incredible this watch was - from its unique history as the first and only NASA-certified moon watch, to its beautiful craftsmanship in both hesalite and sapphire crystal. Every detail made me feel that much more reassured that this watch was perfect for my fiancé and something he would fully appreciate for the rest of his life. What I learned at Omega is that when customers put even the smallest amount of time and thought into their purchasing decisions, they are rewarded tenfold with the most generous acts of appreciation. After I purchased the Speedmaster for my fiancé and presented him with it in November, Andre, Peter and the Omega team graciously hosted us at the Omega store and treated us to a Covid-friendly surprise brunch with pastries, mimosas and private access to the entire store before it opened to the public that day. They also threw in Omega-branded swag and added personal touches like birthday balloons and a handmade 'Happy Birthday' sign. All of this for purchasing one watch! My fiancé and I were over the moon with the entire end to end experience, and I couldn't have asked for a more thoughtful surprise for his birthday. There is absolutely no way a birthday during COVID could've been pulled off in a more special, personal way without the monumental gestures Andre and the entire Omega team presented us with. I cannot thank them enough for their overly generous hospitality and friendship, which we will deeply cherish forever. Post birthday festivities, Andre and Peter have continued to keep in touch with personal email follow ups and texts asking how things are and wishing us a happy holiday. It's without a doubt that all Omega customers at Short Hills are treated like friends no matter how much or how little you purchase, and this is a unique quality that makes this boutique truly stand out from the rest of the luxury watch world. I will end by saying this one experience has made us Omega customers for LIFE. I stopped into the Omega Boutique at the Short Hills mall with the intention of doing some window shopping, hoping that I would be allowed the space I needed to look around but not make a purchase. After taking a good look around I asked if I could see a watch or two and Andre took to helping me. I had no intention of making a purchase that day, and I didn't, but what I did was make a friend. Andre not only did everything possible to show me everything he could, he also treated me to refreshments, went outside for a walk with me to see how two watches look in natural light, shared with me stories about himself which I genuinely found of interest, and just gave me some VIP treatment as if I was a celebrity, which I'm not. The watch I wanted wasn't in the store and Andre said he would have it brought in within two days. I didn't want Andre to go through this process because I explained to him that I'm not sure I'm buying and I'm aware that the Omega Boutique will not be able to meet the discounts offered at authorized dealers. Andre was more concerned with me receiving an enjoyable and professional experience; the sale of the watch was clearly secondary to me feeling that Omega as a brand has highly talented and friendly ambassadors in their staff. I came in to look at the watch on a Sunday after calling to see if it had come in. I was told the watch was in and that I could come and look at it. I was also advised that Andre was not in this day, which [at the time] I felt was a plus as it would allow me to look at the watch, reject buying it, and not feel guilty about all the excellent time Andre spent with me previously since he wouldn't be there. I arrived about a half hour after I called, and within the time I sat down and started examining the watch, Andre showed up dressed like a gentleman. He came in because the boutique advised him I was coming, so he came in just to see me. I spent likely two hours that day, because once again Andre was incredibly charming, entertaining, and engaging. I wasn't a fan of one of the aesthetics of the watch, but that didn't take away from the experience that day relaxing with Andre, trying on other watches, and generally feeling like this was my appointment which had been planned ahead of time. I told Andre that first I need to decide if this is the watch for me, and that if it was, the numbers that I was offered by an AD would compel me to buy it there. It was clear after detailed discussions that the Boutique could not make up the delta in price, and Andre encouraged me to do what is best for me but think of this experience at the boutique as representative of the brand. He accomplished this goal excellently. 3 days later I came back and bought the watch, at a higher price than I would have paid with an AD, because I was loyal to Andre as a boutique manager and ambassador to the Omega brand. I did not expect this level of personal touch, if I had any reservations about the price, or the color of the watch, I had zero reservations about the Short Hills Omega boutique because I wanted to buy a watch from Andre, so I did what I needed to in order to cultivate the friendship Andre extended. He convinced me without ever saying it, that buying a watch from Omega was unlike any other experience I would receive at any other brand or AD. I was convinced that I wanted the experience of purchasing a watch at this boutique, and with Andre, that this was paramount, and then the only question was which watch it would be. The money was already spent in my mind, and to date I have not experienced such a pleasurable watch purchase at any other place, including Omega Rodeo Drive where I bought my first Omega over 10 years ago. read more

Despite this, the staff treated my brother and I with respect and were genuinely interested in showing us all the watches Omega has to offer. I recently brought my Omega Seamaster in to get a bezel replacement and also to verify it's authenticity after having bought it online. I had priorly visited the Omega Boutique at Riverside Square Mall in Hackensack and had a pretty bad experience. The sales associate there was a very rude, and obnoxious lady that had absolutely no interest in either helping me get a new bezel. When I asked her to verify the watches authenticity, upon hearing that I bought my watch online, she rudely stated that it is most likely fake, without even taking a look at my watch. Needless to say, I wasn't very satisfied. However, the experience at Short Hills was completely different. Artur, the technican treated me like I was buying a $40,000 new watch, and was polite every step of the way. On my initial visit, he told me he was going to order the new bezel, and later that week, he e-mailed me, asking for my watch's serial number to verify that the bezel would fit. Within a few days, he called and told me that my bezel had arrived at the store, so I headed over to Short Hills and within an hour, I had a brand new looking watch. I should also note that when I arrived to drop off my watch for the replacement, Artur was on his lunch break, and in his absence, Victor, one of the sales associates handled the intake of my watch. He was extremely professional and very courteous. In addition, he showed me Omega's newest models despite knowing I wasn't about to buy a watch, and we had a great conversation about watches in general. It's quite clear that he has a great knowledge of the Omega brand and is passionate about the watches that he sells. I'm a big Omega fan so I was hoping to love this place - unfortunately it all comes down to who is working that day. Artur is great, he actually loves watches and likes what he does - ask him for by name when you go in there. Had a very good experience buying from him and sent a friend there who also had a good experience. The other salespeople seem to know as much about the watches as a random person off the street. I recently went in to buy a strap and have them install it, when they told me to come back another day (when Artur would be there to install it) because they had no one there who could do it. If I could, I would give this boutique 2.5 stars. But Artur (sales associate), deserves 5 stars. I recently went to this store twice on two different Sundays. Once to purchase a watch and a second time to have them change the bracelet on my watch with a rubber strap that I had purchased. On my first experience, the sales associate was very helpful. I highly recommend talking to Artur if you are considering buying a watch from Omega. He is very knowledgeable and actually took the time to talk watches with me. After making a purchase, I felt as if I was really taken care of very well. On my second trip to the store, Artur was unfortunately off that day. I asked another associate to for some help. The response was that he did not know how to change the strap and he did not want to break my watch. I guess that was good that he did not try to do something he was not qualified to do, but how could a store such as Omega not have a technician on hand for all hours the store is open. The "other" sales associate that I talked to did not even ask for help from any of the 3 or 4 other associates in the boutique. Either he did not want to make notice of his lack of skill or the associates just do not care that much about their customers. I found this quite unacceptable, especially because of the amount that they charge for their watches. All I can say is that if you really like Omega, find out when Artur is working and talk to him. Brought my Omega Planet Ocean in for service under warranty because the watch would stop running from time to time even when fully wound. As others have noted, the sales staff here are not the most knowledgeable about the products they sell (sad for such a high end store). The salesman showed little interest in understand the problem with my watch and asked ME to write about the problem on the service slip (isn't that YOUR job?). He did, however, write down my contact information. When I told him I lived in Philadelphia, he wrote it as "Filadelphia." The man was clearly not a natural born American, but come on. When I picked up the watch several weeks later, it came back to me in a cheap disposable clear plastic case. By comparison, when I send my Breitlings in for service, they come back in a beautiful travel case. This Omega Boutique has a long way to go in their customer service. read more
