I recently had a very bad experience with Jewelry By Eric. In May, I purchased a tennis bracelet from Eric, a graduation gift for my daughter. To our great dismay, by only the third week of June, the bracelet had already broken twice. On each occasion and for no apparent reason, it broke apart between two of the links. After the first time it broke, I gave Eric the opportunity to repair it. When it broke the second time, I requested a refund--in person, in a phone call and in an email. Eric has wrongfully refused my requests for a refund. And now we are out the good money we paid for the bracelet and left with a broken subpar bracelet that can't be worn. Clearly, the bracelet is defective. For it to have broken two times and within such a short span of time is not normal. It indicates that it is not "fit for its ordinary purpose". NJ recognizes an implied warranty that merchandise sold is fit for its ordinary purpose. Eric has cited that he has a no return policy. He refuses to acknowledge that I am not seeking a return under an ordinary return policy (i.e., because I changed my mind, wrong size or color, etc.), I'm seeking a remedy for defective merchandise he sold me. What kind of business operates like this? In light of the poor way I was treated and the poor quality of the product I purchased, BUYER PLEASE BEWARE of Jewelry By Eric! Stay away! UPDATE: I just learned that Eric is now lying and blaming the defect/damage on my daughter by saying the damage was caused by "customer's use of the bracelet ." Funny, on neither occasion when I brought the broken bracelet back to him for his inspection, did he mention anything about the damage being my daughter's fault. The fact that he is falsely accusing my daughter of being responsible for the damage is appalling and offensive. She is currently a resident/doctor at a top medical institution who knows how to wear and care for fine jewelry. Again, I warn the public: Do Not Shop at Jewelry by Eric! My wife received a post card mailer from this Jewelery store and it just so happened we had a bad experience with our old jeweler,so my wife looked on-line and saw his website and said "we have to try a new jeweler and looks like his has a good selection. Well, we get there and WOW,really nice, loaded beautiful diamonds at great prices. He had high quality colors rated GH (my wife is the pro) couldn't tell you what that means. Only problem is, you need to park at the bank next door or this cranky deli guy comes in and asks if you parked in their parking lot next to the jewelry store. I went in to sell some silver coins after I called to see if they bought silver. I was told on the phone he paid the price I asked for, 1 dollar under the silver spot price, at the time it was 16.25. When I get there he changes the price to 15,00 dollars, 1,25 under the price I was quotes, I would not do any business here.
