Pool looks worse now than it did before we did the re-plastering. In addition to bad plastering job, coping stone is discolored from the grey plaster overspray and will not come off. Company will not stand behind their finished work per a discoloration clause in their agreement that they believe absolves them of any responsibility/liability. Other pool contractors are of the opinion that this type and level of deterioration/discoloration is significantly worse that what would reasonably be implied in the discoloration agreement. In my opinion is it was just a bad job and the company does not stand behind their work. Buyer beware when dealing with this company. It was definitely a regretful and very costly decision to go with this company on my behalf. read more

We redid our pool (& backyard) in April 2021. Omega did the pool only and it turned out beautiful. The owners wife and helper came by to take measurements and provided a quote; which I accepted. The pool work was done in four visits: Demolition (1-day), Tile install (1-day), Pebble installation (1-day) and return for Acid wash and start pool refill (1-day). Photos attached: "Before & after", "New oasis", and "pool happiness" are my photos. Note: After we filled the pool, we discovered a leak somewhere. Turned out it was a couple of the jet pipes outside the pool that got punctured during demo with the paving contractor. It happens and you will have to get a leak detector and specialized pool plumber to repair it. If you are doing construction around the pool, I recommend pressure testing pipes, before everything is put back. Not the Omega's issue, just our learning experience. read more

I received as referral from a neighbor they suggested we contact Omega Pool Remodeling to resurface our pool and to replace the tile in the pool and jacuzzi. We agreed to have them replaster with Pebbletech. They started on a Wednesday and the pool was finished and was refilled the following Tuesday! I was so impressed by their workmanship. In one day the removed all the tile and began scraping the pool. They had 5 workers in one day complete the demolition. They retiled and By Sunday they replastered and applied the PebbleTech. For us, remodeling our swimming pool at our California home was a MASSIVE project! We had been putting it off for over 10 years; to many an historic pool which was built to edit 'The Blue Lagoon' with starring actress Brooke Shields in 1980. The famous swimming pool was designed and built to mimic the original filming geography of Tahiti; mature Palm Trees, a large dark bottom lagoon with a viewing window in the deep end from an underground Sauna which was used for filming. I contacted 5 contractors but felt most comfortable with Omega Pool Remodeling; Maria & Mariela came out to measure the pool, ask what we needed and quoted the price for their services; no sales pressure at all. I was concerned about our underwater sauna window, replacement of all plumbing, replacement of skimmer, replacement of tiles and the replacement of the pool light. Maria quickly explained that they specialize in plaster, tile and will replace the pool light with a modern style LED system; however, Omega does not handle pool construction as far as replacement of skimmer, plumbing and electrical, they referred me to Alvarado Pools from whom I needed to obtain a separate quotation. I highly recommend Omega Pool Remodeling but I will explain that my underwater sauna window did become an issue as I had expected. None the less, if I didn't have the window which was completely out of the ordinary, every step of the way was perfect. We selected a Pebble Tec finish instead of plaster, Midnight Blue was our colour of choice and we're quite happy with it; we selected a similar tile to the ones we had before and that worked very well also. Each step of the way, the company was extremely punctual and showed up on time. The demolition was noisy for about 3 hours but the whole house was bagged off so that only minimal dust would be left over, once complete, compressed air was used to clean the whole garden including plant leaves. A very experienced gentleman, Nicholas, was sent out to lay our new tiles and carefully grout the area, they did a great job around the new skimmer and even created an un-noticeable drain opening for our overflow using the tile. Felipe, the owner, was on site for the pebble tec application which is definitely a very interesting project to see, it involved 7 guys working in the pool and 2 guys supporting them from the exterior. All the guys were very polite and carefully cleaned up after themselves once each step was complete. Leizar of Alvarado Pools handled the construction phase of replacing all the plumbing with 2" PVC lines on both the Suction and Return sides; he also installed a new diverter valve and ran a new 1 1/2" PVC line to the waterfall which runs when the filter is on which is a beautiful feature to the garden view. Leizar brought 2 experienced guys and the 3 of them were able to handle all that work in 2 long days, unbelievable and all as planned including replacing the cement and bricks which were removed for the project. After we filled the pool, we noticed that the sauna window was leaking; Felipe came out within a couple of hours and even brought a diver to go down and try to take care of the issue underwater. He was very gracious and sincerely wanted to fix the problem; however, we quickly realized that the best way to fix the leak was to empty the pool once again and properly seal the window dry. Well, I'm very happy the second filling proved to work and the window is now sealed. Hindsight being 20/20, I would have preferred to meet with Felipe before the job commenced since he has so much experience. I would gladly have paid good money to replace the window during the construction phase. We are happy with the pool and happy to have our garden back; both Omega Pools & Alvarado Pools were able to work together and this huge project was complete within 10 days of down time which I have been told is very good! These people are great, I do recommend them and would hire them again. These days it is hard to find contractors that care and these people sure do! Thank you! read more

Omega was Sub-Contracted by our pool builder to put in the pebble plaster finish. These guys did such a good job that I had to leave them a review. They showed up early, prepped the space and covered the area around the pool to minimize mess. They showed me a sample of the mix before spraying to be sure it was the correct color. This last bit I really respect as I have had neighbors who had other companies apply a pebble plaster only to find out after the fact that it was not the color they ordered. The Application went very fast, they did a good job cleaning up after themselves. There was still some staining on the coping and Pavers afterwards so their guy came back and did a very thorough clean and left the patio sparkling new. The finish looked great after the acid wash, and come time for the first vacuum, my pool cleaner was very impressed with the lack of pebble that has come loose after the surface. He mentioned that it was less than half in the basket than he usually sees, leading him to believe it was expertly applied. The lines were clean, no plaster left on the tiles. I do not have experience with them outside the plaster as they were a subcontractor, but I would highly recommend these guys for your pebble finish on your pool. read more

We have a huge 30k gallon pool built in1960 and remodeled by us in 2010. We checked a couple places for estimates for both plaster and Pebble Tec. Sandi was able to identify my problems on sight, a couple things that baffled my pool guy, which gave me a lot of confidence. She wrote up the job with a few minor extra charges shown just in case they encounter something like a rebar while demo-ing. The yelp reviews, the 20 years in a family pool business, and the ease of communication made Omega my choice. Their bid was in the middle price-wise which is what i generally go with anyway. They got we wanted to do right away and were ready to roll. We decided to go with the Pebble Tec which is a little more than twice as expensive. When we first remodeled the pool in 2010 the Pebble Tec choices were not nearly as awesome as 2019! We went with Irish Mist color with reflective bits of seashells mixed in. Why Pebble Tec: it lasts at least 3 times as long, and the bling factor is going to really make your listing pop if you ever sell. Day 1 : At least 8 guys show up, tape off my surrounding brick, and go nuts with the jackhammers. They did not nick not even one square of my half inch blue tile that runs the perimeter around the rim of the pool just below the coping. Well I haven't found it yet anyway lol. (see pic) I was really amazed and impressed and also relieved that my OG tile was saved! All in one day they did this which is great as you don't want this phase going on too long with the noise and dust. Day 2 : So literally ten guys show up, all skilled plaster guys, and while they mix up our Pebble Tec and add the color and sea shells to the mix in the truck on the street, these guys are smearing on this wet Pebble Tec stuff over the demo-ed pool surface. At this point I had to approve the color... and had to take a leap of faith. So I was approving the plaster color BEFORE the shells and other Pebble Tec particles were added, which makes it look much brighter than the finished product will be looking. The particles tone it down... so keep that in mind if you are doing this. Anyway the job was perfect... flat and beautiful. Looking flawless. And then they did really a good job of cleaning up the whole area. Much appreciated. Day 3 : One guy comes by, puts all the plastic nozzles/drains etc back in place and starts filling my pool with water. All the crew were super cool and respectful (I mean as much as a guy using a jackhammer can be). I can't get enough of this pool now that it is up and running. Happily we made a great choice with our builder. Check the pics. ADVICE for Pebble Tec people: Before anything go online, take your time, and pick your color. Look at the Pebble Tec website, and check pics on Pinterest and Houzz. Do your homework. Sandi will show you samples too. Research what you have to do after Omega has done their job. The Pebble Tec takes 28 days to cure, and you have to be brushing several times a day the first week to keep any powder from attaching to the surface and reducing it's bling. So the first 28 days you follow the Pebble Tec protocol re PH and chem additives. read more

This rating is based on my conversation with the lady that answered my call today. I have been communicating for weeks through Yelp with this company to get an estimate. I've shown photos and shared my address. Last May someone came out and provided me with a tentative estimate. I requested for someone to come out again and give me a formal estimate. Felipe the owner responded to me through Yelp, asking me to call or text. Today I made the call and requested an appointment. She placed me on hold, came back and said sorry we don't go out that way. I asked if she can provide any days in the future for an appointment. Her response was the company is located in the Valley and it would take half a day out of their time to come provide me with an estimate. I am very disappointed. This could have been communicated earlier that they do not service the San Gabriel Valley area. I would have never called. Apparently they don't put out the time to travel in order to get the business. 3/11/21 Today Sandi called me multiple times and texted me (within 10 minutes time span) while I was in a meeting to ask me to remove the review. If she properly read our communicating through Yelp, the old estimates doesn't matter. She asked me to call her for an estimate. I did last night and the fact is she knew I was in San Gabriel Valley from the beginning. I asked her when can someone come out to give me an estimate. The very first thing I stated on I call was where the service was needed. As soon as I asked when can you come out, she placed me on hold and then came back with "we don't service that area because it will take out half our day." That tells me she doesn't need my business. Again- my first sentence of the review was based on the conversation with Sandi not the work. She failed to understand why I reviewed her with one star. I am not asking for the correct company who provided the me with an estimate in May. I know for a fact that leaf stains disappears after a few days grass don't do jack. I have been living in this house for twenty five year and have been servicing this pool for twenty five years. I never had calcium stains building up wards out of the plaster till you contracted this pool plastering company, who knows what cheap plaster they used, You were not even here to supervise the work, so how can you justify what kind of plaster they used or the workmanship. I know for a fact you remember me helping you hold up two gallons of acid to flow down the hose to your brush, you brush only one stain with two gallons of acid and it didn't disappear. you said the plaster was still under warranty, I then made a demonstration to show you how the calcium stain was holding the utility pole on the down slope, I then moved the pole right beside calcium buildup stain, the pole slide down. you didn't even acknowledge my demonstration, you walk away, I followed you to your vehicle I ask you what was going to happen, I remember very well what you said. You said I will talk to the boss "GWP'', and you said that you would call me. I waited six month for your call, So the more time goes by my warranty will run out, you show me right there and then you could give a shit about my pool calcium buildup stains. so I finally call Omega Pool Remodeling, Now my communication was with Liz. they wanted me to drain my pool and pay for the water, for a pool that is still under warranty, we didn't have no agreement nor did I sign any agreement, I did any way to see what you were up to. the man you send down to resurface my pool, He made it worst. there is Hugh stains now made it looks like a thousand broken pieces. They even revised the bid to include a service that was standard in the other bids but they had a separate line item for in the initial proposal. Working with them as always easy.
