I have now ordered a variation of The Factory Omelette for delivery on two separate occasions. It is, hands-down, the best I have ever had. I'm a meats guy so I had it filled with bacon and sausage and two cheeses. Both times I got it with the country potatoes. The first time with sourdough toast, and this time with the blueberry muffin. The portions are large enough to even share. The quality of the meats and the ratio of eggs to cheese is spot on. Compared to any other restaurant, the price point for what you get is amazing. I wasn't feeling very productive today so I decided to order something on Grubhub. I've had great service here so I'm expecting the same, of of course. Food is excellent, not gonna lie. Service first time was great as well. I wanted to order some OJ but it isn't on the menu, so when I called, the super courteous lady just threw one in for me. I told.her I can pay for it but she insisted. Second time, I put an order in and leave a note to ask if they can add an OJ because, again, it's not on the menu. Well, this guy, Ross, calls me right away and tells me to add an order of toast and he'll send the OJ instead (to cover his cost, he says) as a favor "even though OJ costs a dollar more than the toast"... he says he'll do that for me. I mention that OJ isn't on the menu and that they just sent me one last time but he insists. I respond that I will and I go ahead and add the toast. Well, apparently, he didn't like that he was losing that dollar so he just took out one of my orders instead and sent the toast (that I didn't want) with the OJ. What a nasty thing to do... all for one single dollar's worth of orange juice. This kind of service, it makes you wonder how much care they're NOT taking with your food. read more

The service is great and we enjoy the food but the hostess is terrible. In the last month we have been here twice and we had an issue getting seated. We are a family of 5. 2 adults and 3 kids. The first time we were told that the wait was 10-15 mins and stood right against the wall in the waiting area, clearly in her view. We noticed that people were being called that showed up after us. We continued to wait and once it hit 25 mins we asked about us being seated. The hostess looked at her list and said oh for some reason you were crossed off. You would think if the same people were standing in front of you for almost 30 mins then maybe You missed something. She spent her time gossiping with random people and constantly looking at her phone. She was not attentive at all and this is why she messed up on seating people. Now fast forward to this morning. We got the the restaurant and the same girl is the hostess. We were told the wait was 15 mins for a family of 5. We waited 20 mins and my husband asked her about the wait time and noticed that 4 parties were called that showed up after us. She just giggled and laughed and said oh I didn't know if it was 5 adults plus 3 kids. So instead of asking or writing the correct notes she just bypassed us. If my husband did not ask then we would've still been waiting. She needs to be more attentive and work on her people skills. She always ask people around her if a party was called when this is her job. Seat a party and cross them off. I really hope she gets better training and this problem is resolved since we really do enjoy this restaurant besides having to deal with her. read more

Going to eat at the Omelette Factory is ALWAYS a very special treat to us when we come to San Diego and I am ashamed that I hadn't posted my review sooner as we have been going to the Omelette Factory for quite a few years but as they say, it is never too late to recognize a very good place where you will want to go again and again . First the atmosphere, as soon as you walk in , you instantly feel welcomed, the attentive staff right away will assist you and guide you to your desired table. Immediately, you know that your breakfast, lunch or dinner will be a wonderful experience. Right after being seated, asked if we wanted coffee, a very tasty cup of coffee was served and you never have to wait long to get a refill as the staff is always so attentive to their customers' needs. We then were presented with the menu and OMG what a menu! with a very large variety of "Special Diet" requirements like Gluten Free, Vegan and more that are very clearly marked making my hubby very happy as Gluten is a no no for him..... Well the Omelette Factory offers one of the BEST Gluten Free homemade Potatoes you will ever eat. Hubby ordered a Ham & Cheese omelette with GF potatoes, I ordered the Gobbler Omelette (delicious diced turkey breast, tomato & cheese) with hashbrown cooked the way I like it (well done crispy). We love omelette and honestly these were the most delicious, very filling and each cooked to our personal liking and request. The ambiance of this restaurant is not enjoyable but palpable, I felt right away a connection between each employees and their manager Tracy who has been with the restaurant since it opened , Tracy is an absolute gem, her smile will make you at ease as soon as you met her, enrobe you like a warm blanket in a cold day Most of the employees have been there for many years telling you a lot about the quality of management and owners....the atmosphere of the restaurant and it's warm environment is without a doubt the results of the relationships, the genuine caring about people within the entire staff of this fabulous restaurant resulting in creating a strong customer loyalty that will comeback over and over. This place was pretty average! We wanted something different for our Easter breakfast so I did some yelping and decided on this place. I was very happy that there was no wait time coming into here. On Easter Sunday, I was expecting a long wait. I tried the chicken fried steak with potatoes and bacon. The steak itself was just ok. I think the seasoning and flavor was lacking. The sausage gravy tasted store bought and the country fried steak just kinda tasted like a store brought frozen kind. The potatoes on the side were just plain potatoes. Needed a few dashes of salt and pepper. The bacon was my favorite part, crispy and yummy. Can't go wrong with bacon. My friend ordered a Baja omelette, which I had a bite of, that thing is spicy! They load that thing with jalapeño! Definitely order that if you like some heat. I got a pancake instead of toast and I'm happy I did, it was fluffy and great. Ordered a stack of blueberry pancakes delivered through Door dash. $25 ($17 +$8 tip) with tip for three pancakes only. No sides. No drinks. Ok, I knew that when I placed the order. I wanted pancakes, but did not want fast food. They were delivered in a reasonable amount of time. In the bag were the pancakes, two tiny butter packs and the utensils I had to make sure I ordered. OK, but where's the syrup? Not to be found. Had to eat three pancakes with two tiny packs of butter only. Kind of dry that way. Been here 3 times in 2 months. 1st time was good, 2nd time the bacon was very undercooked so I sent it back. Came back almost charred. Today, eggs were slimy and cold, sent back. We ordered a Highway 52 & a stack of pancakes. The food was yummy! I'd say 4/5 for food. *this was a pick up order. We did not dine in. However, we were greeted by a hostess wearing a clear face shield with no fabric mask underneath. I personally don't think that should count as a mask at all especially when serving people who are sitting down at a level below your chin-- inside, by the way. They have a really nice outside area and on the day we went (Monday), literally no one was seated at the outside area. There was an employee behind the kitchen counter who was mask-less and eating something without gloves on. That definitely rubbed me and my fiancé the wrong way. On top of everyone being inside, the customers didn't seem spaced out well enough on the right hand side of the restaurant, and a few patrons just walked around the restaurant without a mask on. One maskless guy just walked across the restaurant and behind us while we were picking up our order to talk on his phone. It was really uncomfortable being people who are still being really cautious. We want to support local-- this was our breakfast/brunch spot since we started dating two years ago, but I don't think we'll return. This is my second time visiting and the food is tasty! We had the French toast and pancake breakfast this time. The food was good; the service was fast and attentive. I really appreciate the fast service, as I have two little ones and getting a good meal and being able to get in and out quickly is important to me. THE WORST PLACE TO EVER!!!!!!!! I had ordered their anyway omelette with home style potatoes and wheat toast. The omelette was halfway decent, the potatoes where Dry and had been sitting on the grill for some time. The toast was VERY LIGHTLY toasted. I had asked for the owner and showed him the toast and potatoes and told him that he should fire the cook because that person CAN NOT cook. The owner got MAD and told me to get OUT. I'm not much of a Scout and usually don't get the jump on what's trendy, but if there's a new spot near by home base, then we'll check it out. We regularly drive by this new strip mall that suddenly appeared, with a $tarbucks drive-thru being first to open for business. With The Omelette Factory relocating from their former Mission Gorge Rd spot, locals get one of their breakfast/lunch options back in the neighborhood. Apparently, the landlord sold out to condo developers which prompted the restaurant move. After dropping Mini-me 2.0 off at her first day of school, we stopped by for snacks. The place was bustling and parking was relatively easy. I can only imagine the tiny parking lot challenge growing when word about this place spreads and after the nearby stores open for business. Breakfast plates are plentiful. I needed to get before the food coma sets in. Good thing we took a day off for napping. Today's plates: a Basic and corned beef & eggs. You get familiar options for potato and bread sides. The fresh blueberry muffin is a good pick. Service was friendly and quick. We got in early enough, so there was no wait on tables. We order takeout from this location often and today I received the worst food I have ever tasted. The two omelettes we ordered taste like syrup was added to the eggs and the food is inedible. My wife and I had a great breakfast while waiting for our car wheel to be repaired. We are vegetarian. I ordered the Vegetarian Omelette with hash brown potatoes and my wife had the Eggs Benedict Florentine. Both were very good and I liked that you can substitute a pancake for the toast. The omelette factory in Santee is a fairly standard breakfast/brunch spot and it delivers on it's promise. The prices are reasonable, the wait times are short and the food is pretty good. Nothing exceptional but a good time overall. I asked our waitress whether to go for a house omelette or the chili omelette and she recommended the latter. I thoroughly enjoyed the choice, ate about half of it, and took the rest home for a great second course! I would definitely come back here for a good, well priced breakfast. read more

The Omelette Factory in Santee has been a main stay for many years. Although forced to move a few years back their new location is bigger and better. I have always been greeted at the door with a smile and have seldom had to wait for a booth... Once seated the menu is large and so are their serving sizes. Although they specialize in breakfast I have enjoyed their sandwiches and salads. Never been disappointed and love the smiling service from the entry to the exit. First of all the place is clean and your not on top of people like other places and the staff is nice enough. However, the southern breakfast was the worst breakfast I've had at a restaurant. This was one of the places my friend found that was close to the Mission Gorge area. The place felt like it had a kind of an old, rustic feel to it, mixed with some kind of western theme. I had the All Meat Omelet and it was just okay. The omelet tasted more like a scrambled eggs mixed with various meats rather than an omelet with meat stuffed inside. It wasn't anything special or noteworthy. The hash browns were also just okay, it was nice that the outside was crispy but the inside didn't taste too nice and kind of got a little soggy.
