The food is great. They give you so much too. The staff was wonderful and the restaurant itself was clean and inviting.

You would think they specialize in omelettes, but nope. It looked more like a scramble. There wasn't anything special to it, just your basic breakfast foods. I ordered the eggs benedict and was pleased. My other 2 guests ordered from the senior menu and it's the same portion of food at a lower price, which is nice. The meal came with blueberry muffins too but it wasn't very good, too sweet and the wheat version was dry. They're also very tiny. My partner had the Belgian waffles - it would've been good but it was soaked in strawberry sauce for too long. Even the whipped cream became sad looking. It seems the waffles was first to finish cooking but wasn't ever bought out until everyone's order was done. On a positive note - they're generous with the bacon portions. Service was very slow. Waitress was nice when she came around but it was rare. The tip money was even left on the table until next guests sat and ordered - so if I were a sneaky person, I could've easily pocketed it. I could imagine it's easy to walk out without paying too, but don't do this! I believe in karma. Aside from that, nothing impressive about this place. This place is usually very busy and for good reason! The serving portions are huge and most meals are greasy.. but a good greasy! The kind of greasy you yearn for when you're looking for a hearty brunch. I had the eggs benedict with sausage and gravy, which I was only able to eat half of. It had a large amount of gravy ontop of it! My husband had a chorizo omelet and they did not skimp on the chorizo. My brother had the athenian omelet which in comparison to another local breakfast spot is better. If you're just looking for something to eat, then come here. That was us post-hike, as we had a long drive back to where we were headed. The wait wasn't terribly long for a big crowd waiting outside during peak brunch time on a Saturday, though as expected the food took quite some time to come out after we ordered. The chicken fried steak was completely unremarkable, overall quite a bland mix of meat, egg, and too much bread. My friends got the chicken fajita skillet, which looked tasty but they only really ate the protein and picked at the potatoes. Definitely have had better brunch elsewhere in SD. I came here the other day while I was in the area and I enjoyed it quite a bit. This place has been around for a while and it seemed as though there were plenty of "regulars" as I walked in. There were a lot of older folks who knew the waitresses by name and seemed like they have been eating breakfast here for years. It was very cute! I'm giving 5 stars for the quality in service and food. I haven't tried their omelettes yet so it may change. They had a cute little chalk board with the specials and I loved that they offered 2 different special hot cakes. Lemon butter, which smelled like a fresh lemon cake and pumpkin hot cakes, which was fluffy and tasted like a pie! They were huge and filling, each order came with 3 hot cakes, perfect for sharing. I got the pumpkin hot cakes and made it combo with came with either 2 bacons or 2 sausages and 2 eggs. I love eggs over easy and it was cooked perfectly and the sausages were your basic everyday sausage at the market which was yummy. Since I'm a sucker for breakfast potatoes I also ordered their country potatoes. Although it wasn't seasoned with any special herbs, the simplicity of thinly sliced potatoes cooked on a skillet was delightful. Potatoes were soft but firm and the skins gave it a chip like flavor. Service was quick and our server was very attentive. I didn't catch his name but he was great! Even other servers came by to check up on us and offered refills and coffee. Good team work!!! Amazing place for breakfast. I did not mind waiting to be seated. It was a full house, but let me tell you. It was worth the wait. It has an old school vive, staff is so welcoming and friendly even during their rush hour. The food was delicious and splendid. I felt like how mom would make food. My cup of coffee was never empty, they kept refills coming and I was overjoyed with happiness by the great taste of my omelette. Next time I go near the area, I will be getting breakfast here. Better than a lot out there, but nothing too special. This place is different. The food is phenomenal and really is probably the best breakfast in Santee. Everything is fresh, comes out hot, and is pretty much always going to be better than something you could get somewhere else. Don't expect gourmet, but you'll leave satisfied every single time. Service can sometimes struggle with being as quick as other places, so wait times might turn some off if you're the kind that will let that ruin an experience for you. You'll be well taken care of though. Today I ordered pumpkin spice pancakes, which unknown to me came topped with walnuts. When I explained that I was allergic to walnuts, the waitress immediately took the plate away and told me she was getting me a fresh order, which was sitting in front of me within five minutes. Prices are probably the only other sticking point. Portions are very generous, but it's real hard to walk out the door without spending $10-15. Sides are priced pretty high and can rack up relatively quickly. This is one of the few places that is really worthy of being a local favorite. Ordered eggs with medium well steak. The steak looked good on the outside but blood was literally dripping from inside once I cut it. I patiently waited and waited and waited for the server to come back and she never did. I looked over to the counter and ALL team members were eating a large plate of fries and seating at the counter completely ignoring all the restaurant guests. Eventually someone made eye contact with me and realized I was looking for my server. She came over and I told her a out the steak. She didn't apologize but did offer something else. I was too disgusted by the steak that decided to take a waffle home to eat later. The original sever just came by to drop off the check and didn't even apologize or awknowlege we have had a problem. Our go to place for breakfast in Santee. They have standard breakfast and lunch options, huge portions and good prices. I love that this is family owned and operates like quick and efficiently. If you like a buzz in the morning they do have alcohol. This place is always busy and packed and although there is always a wait I dont think I have ever waited more than 15 minutes at most. Abby served us today and she got my order just like I wanted. Thin and super crispy hashbrowns. Tried to support my local businesses during covid-19. We gave them 3 tries during covid-19, but ordering take out or delivery wasn't a good time to try them again. 2 out 3 times are order wasn't correct. The first time I ordered the food was great and correct, but the last 2 not so great. On my 2nd order I ordered the highway 52 omelette and for some reason I got bell peppers instead of green chillies. On my third order I requested no cheese on an omelette for an allergy and there was cheese in side and all over the top of everything in the box. The person couldn't even eat anything. My family and I ate here a few weeks ago after some morning errands. I ordered an omlette plate (south baja) with hash browns and white toast... what i got was a soggy egg scramble (clearly didnt strain the CANNED green chilis before adding to the eggs) and the hash browns were the worst I've ever had, hands down. They were also soggy and tasted like chicken bouillon. I even had my husband and daughter try them to see if I was delusional, but nope, they gagged too. I did tell the waitress after she checked on us at the end of the meal and she offered some country potatoes, but we were already done eating. My husband; however, thoroughly enjoyed the Philly sandwich he had with a side of au jus and my daughter loved the french toast. Oh, how I wanted to like this place, for omelettes are one of my favorites breakfast foods. Ironically, I ordered the Strawberry French Toast while the BF got the House Omelette. They were definitely generous with their portions but sometimes, quality beats quantity. The whole plate tasted off together. Grease + sugar + more sugar did not equal an appetizing meal to me. It was edible but I think I was expecting a lighter french toast and less artificial flavored strawberries. House Omelette: No doubt that thing was gigantic but what is up with the temperatures? I know salsa is meant to be cold and omelettes area meant to be hot, but they just don't seem to mix when you put them together in this meal. The omelette part was okay - I feel like I can make it at home. And the salsa was flavorful but tasted like it was made with either canned tomatoes or old tomatoes. The hash brown was okay. Both the omelette and hash brown were greasy though. Though both meals were flavorful, I felt that it was heavy and covered in grease. The decor was interesting. This is the closest breakfast place to my house, though today was my first day trying it! From the outside, it's run down, dusty parking lot, and not a top choice. Inside, it's a mom and pop, greasy spoon place. We ordered omelettes and they were tasty and very diner-y. (Did I make that up? Do you know what I mean?) The service was fast and friendly, our drinks were constantly checked and refilled. My preschooler loved the sausage links and pancakes. This place is a win for the family.
