Ordered the pancakes instead of toast and they were also sooooo good

We were traveling through and fortunately stumbled across the Off the 8 Cafe. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was so great. Every staff person was so friendly. The menu is great with lots of choices for everyone. We chose to sit inside, but they also have a lovely patio. My husband LOVED the extra large coffee cups I chose the Mae your own omelet and my husband had the chicken fried steak and eggs. Both of our meals were delicious. We would definitely recommend and will stop by again when in the area

FOOD: We had the Patty Melt. It was very good, though I was not thrilled with the French Fries. SERVICE: Very Good. We had a very friendly server, who was fast and efficient. AMBIANCE: Nice. The place was quiet, with two opposite facing televisions on a non-political station, so anyone seated could see (but not hear) the televisions. PRICE: Not Good. Our Patty Melts, which were basically cheeseburgers on slices from a loaf of bread, were $17.45 and only included French Fries. The the meals were very good, however what we received did not justify the price. A similar meal at, say In-N-Out, would cost under $10 per person, include a drink, and there would be no expectation of a tip, saving nearly half the cost. To add insult to this financial injury, they added a 3.00% "Credit card surcharge" of $1.13. So, for two burger and fries combination plates with water to drink, we were out the door for $45.73, including tax and tip. Just not worth it.

Always really great service and the food comes quick. Simple menu. Both breakfast and lunch are great. The club sandwich or chicken wraps are amazing.

This is my new FAVORITE spot to eat!! The food is outstanding, the portions leave you full to the brim. The coffee is XXXXXcellent in huge mugs. Today I had Strawberry Salad that was just ... DEVINE! and Churro French Toast that was quite spectacular! I took most of that home to the grands who can back me up on that claim. The service is delivered with a smile. The ambiance is casual and comfortable. Highly recommended!!

Now let's talk food... the brisket was out of this world! Tender, flavorful, and just the right amount of smokiness. Paired with the coleslaw (so fresh and delicious) and their BBQ sauce that was sweet but not overpowering, the whole combo was dynamite. I even had to snap a "before" pic of the plate--and let's just say the "after" pic didn't survive because it was THAT good! They were out of dessert during our visit, but I'll definitely be back to try that cinnamon and lemon pound cake that customers around us were raving about. Big shoutout to Vi and to Penelope (I believe she was the cook that day) for serving up not just a meal, but an experience. The layout was super cool and very clean. Once the music got set up on the patio, it was so loud, you couldn't talk with anyone at the table. not a nice way to spend a relaxing afternoon with friends. but ok, we moved inside. The music, by the way, was excellent. So it's not that. Inside we had a server who seemed new or not very well trained. For a place that serves breakfast and lunch, it was odd that at 10 minutes before noon, we still could not order "lunch" items. but ok - pivot to breakfast. we placed drink orders and food. What came out was disappointing. we asked if the bottomless mimosas could have a little cranberry juice added. Server said not problem. What came out were cranberry mimosas, no orange juice in sight. when food came out, it left a lot to be desired. The avocado toast order was awful. plain white, grocery bread barely toasted with an avocado smash (container spread from the store or costco?) and dried grated parmesan cheese (like from the plastic container in the grocer) not as advertised and definitely not what one expects for this dish. The side of bacon was forgotten. The eggs benedict looked ok however the hollandaise sauce was barely existent and what was there was split. Making it barely edible. The other breakfast dishes were just ok. Biscuits and gravy looked good. lots of it and chunky. scrambled eggs and hashbrowns are hard to mess up. But for one person, the hashbrowns were pretty much cooked to a crisp and a lot of grease on the plate. that person left those to the bin. And had a hair on the plate. We had to ask for the bottomless mimosa to be refilled. The server took the glasses, and when they came back, one was orange, one was cranberry and THE GLASSES WERE REUSED! Unacceptable!! if the server didn't know, the bartender should know NOT to reuse glasses. Even if it is our own glasses, you don't reuse them. So, this was a trial to bring some out of town guests this summer for a "home town experience." We won't be coming here. If you want music, mediocre food, and drinks (that you don't have to interact with people) - this will be ok. The band was really good. The food experience was dreadful.

Share an appetizer- we picked passion fruit shrimp cocktail which was 8 large poached shrimp with a passion fruit forward cocktail sauce and a charred lemon. The shrimp were cooked perfectly and the charred lemon added a nice touch. We each picked an entree of the 2 offered - Ginger Glazed Wild Salmon and Grilled ribeye. The salmon was on top of couscous with baby grilled zucchini. The salmon had crispy skin and was fork tender just flaked right off and was very flavorful. The rib eye was grilled medium and covered in a peppercorn demi gravy that was so luxurious. I was half tempted to lick the plate. The pesto baby golden potatoes were like individual servings of mashed potatoes which paired nicely with the rib eye and charred asparagus. Share the dessert - Raspberry Chocolate Bombe- was expecting more chocolate than the 2 small heart shaped cookies which did not have a forward chocolate taste but more of a sugar cookie feel. The "bombe" was Raspberry ish mousse covered in a firm Raspberry jelly on top of a thin butter wafer/cookie with fresh strawberries and blueberries which were tossed in sugar. Every course was brought out timely and the presentation of each dish was exquisite. Everything was well seasoned and the appropriate temperature right down to the chilled plate and spoons for dessert. Plenty of seating and service was impeccable. Definitely will be returning WITH RESERVATIONS lesson learned.

It's a beautiful restaurant, very light and bright, looked elegant but casual. We had a reservation for a party of 13. From the moment we sat down to the end of our meal, Nico our server was awesome! He was so friendly and efficient throughout. And there were other employees that would come to our table periodically to ask how we were doing. We ordered various menu items, I had the steak frites with chimichurri on side and truffle fries. Absolutely delicious! My 12 ounce ribeye steak was cooked perfectly medium-rare and the fries were nice and crisp. I literally could bathe in the chimichurri sauce it was so good, the best I've ever had. All the food was so visually appealing I wasn't able to take a lot of photos of the food-we were hypnotized lol. For dessert we shared banana splits, sorbets and parfaits and we left all satisfied. Also the Wilson Creek Almond Sparkling Wine (or champagne) they use for the mimosas is wonderful! I didn't even add any juice to it, great by itself. Overall, it was a great experience and I strongly recommend it for just casual enjoyment or for celebrations. You won't be disappointed.

I am not a huge fan of eggs so in my search for other breakfast options this place popped up. I am so glad we went. I found my all time favorite menu item on my first visit and I have not strayed from it since. My husband, on the other hand, has tried a different item each time we have gone. Each time he has commented on how fresh and delicious his choice was and I am always giddy with excitement at eating mine! I ALWAYS get the Caprese waffle sandwich, yes I know that isn't really a breakfast item, but it is EXACTLY what I love! The waffle is a thin waffle cooked golden brown with a delicious pesto and balsamic spread/dressing with a hearty slice of mozzarella cheese and tomato . The greens are always fresh and not sparse. It is the perfect way for me to start the day. On this trip, my husband ordered a veggie omelette with roasted breakfast potatoes and sourdough toast. He remarked at how flavorful, but simply seasoned the potatoes were so that they complimented the omelette nicely. He had cheese, onions and mushrooms. The omelette size was not overly large and came out nice and hot. We had never noticed before that they had a Spanish latte on the menu so we were excited to try it. It probably ranks in the top 3 of that version of coffee we have had. Their iced HAUS coffee is rich in flavor and their iced CUBE coffee is also a nice treat. The staff are always welcoming and attentive. Although we don't know their names, they always greet us like they remember us. On our visit this time, we were able to get a seat right away but sometimes the line is out the door. If you want a calm morning experience with fantastic food, you must try Belgium Waffle House. Another table was also talking about this issue. Bacon was way overcooked as well. I also really dislike when food timing for a table is way off. I rather it stay in the kitchen under a heat lamp and come together rather that spend 5 minutes staring at my food being polite. So, for a fun "wow that's a ton of food" experience this is it.
