My artist was Jennal, and she's a superstar. I got my first tattoo (full sleeve) from her when she was working at the sister shop in California. Long story short, she decided to move to Philly. But I knew I wanted my full chest piece done by her as well so I ended up getting work done at this shop too. She really goes out of her way to making me feel like part of the family. You can tell she goes out of her way to making sure the piece is perfect. After so many hours, I can honestly consider her a friend now as well. I called today to get information on booking an appointment and getting a quote on tattoos for my husband and I. The receptionist was very nice but had to keep putting me on long holds. No problem. I guess one of the artists picked up the line with no context to the conversation and was really rude and dismissive, not listening to what I was saying at all. My husband was pissed off just from overhearing the conversation and wanted to set the guy straight. Based on this alone I guarantee you we'll never be setting foot in this place. Learn some manners! I've been contemplating on getting a tattoo for some years now and with It being my first, I didn't want to commit to just any artist. I wanted to proceed with an artist that was personable and passionate in his/her craft. And with that being said, I had the pleasure of meeting Dalton through one of my buddies that has gotten an arm sleeve done by him a few months prior. We exchanged contact information's and off the bat we were tossing ideas back and forth for my future arm sleeve! Dalton had me set up for the first week of April (April 2nd - 5th). First day walking into the shop I instantly felt relaxed and at peace. The atmosphere is very "Zen". Dalton walks out and introduces himself and right away you can feel the positive vibe reflecting off of him. He gave me a quick tour of the shop and asked me to sit back on the white leather couch while he went and got the stencils for me to pick from. He came back out with a plethora of stencils and we instantly began to collaborate. I picked 2-3 stencils and told him that as long as I'm able to have these implemented into my sleeve, ill be more than happy to give him 100% creative freedom to do what he thinks looks best. His eyes lit up and he reassured me that we will create magic! Now that the stencils has been selected, we were ready to begin. First impression of Daltons work area is that he is very, very clean and sanitary. He had the seat and body pillows wrapped in saran wrap for our session. He handed me the TV remote and allowed me to choose what movie/show I would like to watch. As I'm scrolling through Netflix trying to find a movie, I see that Dalton had lit an incent. I instantly burst out in excitement and told him how those specific incents he used reminded me of my childhood when my mother would light them to honor my grandfather that passed away. He smiles and says "energy bro! its very real!" We would go have lunch prior to each session and just talk about our lives and how things come into fruition. He kept me in the loop everyday on what's next to come. 4 consecutive days of going under the needle sounded intimidating at first, but, once you're in it to win it, you're golden! I just focused on the end results and how happy I would be to finally have a sleeve! 22 hours under the needle and 4 days later.. I was already thinking of ideas for my next piece from him! Not only is Dalton a great person to be around, but, he is one hell of an artist. I definitely recommend him to anyone that is looking to get a piece done! Clean shop with nice staff. Appreciated then fitting me in close to closing time. However, they forgot to give me my ID back and the price (for two small lines of text, four words), somehow went from $100 when I walked in and did the initial consult to $300 after it was done. That was insane. I've never before paid so much ever (even just last year in Vegas on the Strip with a famous artist) for something so small. I'm still pretty furious about that. And it's cash only. Honestly not worth it. If you do go here make sure you do not go to Kam. He caused scarring on my arm and also messed up and accidentally put a line through my other tattoo. I got charged for two days even though he took an excessive number of breaks, finished an hour early and only worked for 4 hours on the second day. Was extremely rude when I brought this up to him. So I've been wanting to get my first tattoo for a while now. Had booked someone 2 years back but ended up having a kid, so plans changed and I backed out. I have been following Omkara Tattoo on social media for a while now and 1 particular artist really caught my attention, which is Dalton. Told myself that I have to get tatted by him ASAP. Contacted Dalton immediately and the response was super fast and he was very helpful in explaining to me the process for my first tattoo. From the moment I met Dalton to consult about the tattoo, all I felt was positive energy! I knew right away that this will be an amazing first experience and that he will kill it on my first tattoo. Went in for 4 consecutive session for a full sleeve. First day in, he created a very welcoming atmosphere, tv on, bought me food because he knows that it will help me a ton (which I would never forget because this was really helpful), very clean, and felt relaxed right away. Positive vibes! Before each session we would go out and grab something to eat and just have an amazing discussion about life. Not only that I met an amazing artist but I met a brother/friend! Each days of the session felt like it went fast when you have positive people around you. Everyone at the shop were friendly and welcoming as well. As I have expected, the result of the tattoo were absolutely insane! All i can tell you is that it will forever change my life to have this amazing piece on my arm. The amount of detail he put in on this piece is unlike any other. Am proud of it and I cant express enough on how thankful I am to Dalton for giving me this amazing experience and absolutely did an amazing piece. Finally got to visit this spot after hearing lots of good things. Super clean, really nice shop, and I'll add that they're really doing a heck of a job keeping their space clean and hygienic given the current covid situation. I had an appointment with John Kelly, who is for my money one of the best portrait artists out there. Next level black and grey stuff. I was having a hard time sitting, (in case you didn't know, tattoos can be pretty painful haha), but John was super patient and so professional with me the whole time. I really respected his approach, and I could not be any happier with how my tattoo turned out and my experience with him and the shop. Highly recommend John for any tattoo work, especially realism, portrait or black and grey work, and I definitely recommend the shop for its friendly atmosphere and outstanding cleanliness and comfort level. Loved this shop! I was so stressed about trying to find the right artist. I wanted small simple looking tattoos, but straight, beautiful lines are not easy, so finding someone talented enough that was willing to squeeze me in was scary. Here's the deal. I think that the guys in this shop do GREAT work - especially Johnny. He is exceptionally talented. My gripe is this. They charge you tax on a service that you are paying cash for. No other shop does this and you aren't supposed to charge tax on as service, only goods. If I were using a credit card and the shop had to pay taxes to the credit card people, I would understand. But I paid cash (and alot of it) for a tattoo that I do love, but I have to admit that the entire experience was overpriced. Again, the work that they do is wonderful, but this is a huge issue for me going back or referring people. read more

Flew up from the south side of Florida to get some work done from the amazing, amazing artist himself Kim Su. What an amazing journey I had in just two days! The leg piece is just getting started but I'm so happy with where it's going and I'm glad I chose the right artist to take this to the next level. He's very meticulous, has years of experience under his belt, is open to suggestions, always gives feedbacks, and to top it all off... he literally makes everyone feel like you they are at home. Kim have such a positive vibe from the first time we met all the way down to the moment I say my farewells. I love my tattoo design drawn by Chris R. Unfortunately he never informed me he was only an apprentice and hasn't been tattooing for that long. The tattoo proves this further, it blew out and has raised scarring. A simple black line tattoo that any experienced artist could have completed no problem... Now I am left wit a blown out and scarred tattoo. Not to mention I was extremely over charged, $140 for a piece that has no color, shading, and isn't much bigger than a business card... I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone who wants a quality tattoo done. read more

I did not get a tattoo here. I went to talk to a tattoo artist to get an estimate and to make an appointment for the next day. I browsed through the pictures of tattoos they had on their website and picked some font lettering I really liked and showed it to Chris. Chris looked at the picture and said it looks like a simple computer font. It would have been my first tattoo and I was iffy about this guy ( based on his lack of professionalism) so I asked him if he was referring to a font in Microsoft word...Because I had been through all those fonts and did not see that one. He said no but they have the font in their computer. I had asked if he was going to print up what i wanted right then to show me so the next day we can just get started he said not necessary. We wanted to make an appt for 530p and he suggested that 6 would be better for him...no biggie. I had sent him a text message of the song lyrics i wanted and since i still had his number and had my doubts that he would get the font right...I sent him the picture i found from the omkara website. Next day 6pm I show up and he's not even in the shop. He walks into the shop shortly after 6 with a bag and says have a seat i'm just gonna eat first. I see him running around at some point and realize that he is JUST NOW typing in what i wanted on the computer and prints it and shows it to me...it was obvious to me that that was not the font from the picture. Even though i said that he said it was. I take out the picture i had sent him the day before and told him it was different and physically showed him that the letters were showing up differently. He tells me that he's going to type up the words from the picture and maybe it will come out the same...WHA?!@# Don't know how that would happen but ok? He prints it out and it obviously didn't magically change into a different font but he continues to say..."see? virtually the same." REALLY THOUGH? I said no its not and then asked me why i wanted that particular font... UGH! I pretty much left after that. Totally sensitive to what you want and out of this world talented. If giving this place 0 stars was possible- I would. I got tattooed more than a year ago by Matt. My whole family had appointments with him for a certain time and ended up taking other people right in our appointment time causing us to wait hours extra. I got a lung cancer ribbon on my rib that is crooked and just overall not that neat. While having the tattoo done I asked to take a short break bc it was hurting really badly and I needed to use the restroom, Matt proceeded to tell me no and basically held me down when I tried to sit up. Ridiculous and unprofessional! I was supposed to go back a few weeks later to have flowers and butterflies to the piece but ended up going to a different shop and different artist where I had a MUCH BETTER experience. I do not recommend this place or this artist. There are so many better options out there! read more

I have gotten 2 tattoos here and I absolutely love them. My first was done by Dan, I walked in and we set up an appointment time for later in the week and I left a deposit. I was very impressed with the technique used to create texture in the tattoo. My second time going, I was in Philly just for a weekend and decided to head down. I went in at 4 and Matt said he could tattoo me right away. I was finished in about an hour. The shop is clean, professional, and has a great vibe. When we arrived there were three guys working, two of whom were doing nothing. The man working said he could help us in a few hours and the other two refused to help us, probably because we only wanted a small tattoo. You know, I really did like this shop for a while because they have good artists and a friendly atmosphere, up until I started getting tattooed by MATT G. Heads up people, never pay in full ahead of time! I paid over $2500 for my back piece and leg to be finished up front because I was getting a "better deal" for paying in full. I paid this payment LAST October of 2015. It is now November 2016 and my pieces are still not finished. Every time I would go in to get work done Matt would have me waiting over 2 hours as he worked on other people and soaked up my time and then would tattoo me for an hour and send me on my way. That's when he actually followed through with my appointments. About half the time he would text me an hour before my appointment and tell me he needs to reschedule. Yes, an hour before. After my maybe 8th visit which was supposed to be my FINAL appointment, Matt said he "wrapped" up my leg and back. The indian face I have on my leg he pretty much bloodlined the feathers and left them with absolutely no detail and my back was half shaded. Matt also made an appointment November 9th, today, with me after I told him how i felt about that half assed work from last session. When I texted him about coming in for this session 3 days ago I got no response which doesn't surprise me. Why would he do this you ask? Because Matt had been payed a year previous to these appointments so since I was already payed, I was the least important client to him because he'd already been paid and spent that money. It's a joke that you can have someone run a shop so unprofessional like this, he is a thief. I will NEVER get tattooed at this shop again, despite the money they still owe me. I will take my business to Empire Tattoo, yeah theyre a little more expensive but they're a million times better, and most import THEY'RE PROFESSIONALS. read more
