Precision took over the practice of Daniel DeFazio. Immediately, everything changed for the worse:…read more1. Suddenly marketing materials EVERYWHERE. Sleep apnea? Skin treatments? Whitening? Med Spa? It hits you in the face when you walk in. How about just dentistry? 2. My first experience they used some sort of plaque laser that I later was charged for because it wasn't covered. I had never heard of this treatment before, and I'm not entirely sure it's of significant value. 3. I was told that I needed to have a 360 scan of my mouth or head for today's appointment - that it's a requirement of the doctor to provide care. This scan is only 50% covered by most insurance, including mine, resulting in a $100+ out of pocket bill. 4. This is the same practice that billed me for a bunch of DeFazio's work when HE was my dentist. I told them I'm NEVER going to pay those invoices. Long story short: They have quality dentists and hygienists, but the business is a money-grubbing enterprise that will stop at nothing to sell you additional services, many of which have nothing to do with dentistry. I found it extremely off-putting. I just want a dentist to make sure my teeth are healthy. I don't want all that crap. He's going to get $0 from me from now on.

Long story short, a dentist in Alaska made me a bridge that didn't fit, that he modeled off of another bridge that didn't fit either, so my bite was very badly off, and of course, having an uneven bite like that can ruin ALL of your teeth in no time. Dr. Steichen and his team have been working to fix by bite, my bridge, and the ruined teeth, and now it is SO MUCH BETTER. Thanks to Dr. Steichen, I will be able to keep my all my teeth! This guy is a true professional and is extremely good at what he does. He took me right in without any hesitation, even though the other doctor(s) made the mess. I have learned the hard way that a bite fix takes a HIGHLY SKILLED dentist and team to get it right and these are the guys! They are very patient, precise and meticulous in everything they do, plus they are caring. They also utilize digital computer dentistry, and other techniques that I didn't see other dentists using, and they reexamine your teeth with the latest (safe) computer equipment to find the problem, to verify what you say is the problem, so they will get it right! I would highly recommend them, they are masters at what they do. His dental hygienists are also excellent and they are the very best as well! ( I currently also work in the medical field.) Now I realize that if I had gone to Dr. Steichen in the first place, I would have not only saved bundles of money, but I wouldn't have been so miserable for so long! My goal is to keep all of my teeth. I was born with beautiful teeth, but it also takes a good dentist to keep all of your teeth under such circumstances. Thank God for Dr. Steichen and his team, I don't know what I would have done without them. Dr. Steichen is a totally talented Godsend! :) Dr. Steichen is my forever dentist now. :)

My Seattle dentist (Dr. Cris Simmons) is one of the top TMJ specialists in the world. His wife/secretary (Anna) referred me to Dr. Sanchez. I called for an appointment and was offered a free half-hour consultation. I phoned back Anna and she said that's a very good sign. She said that if they wanted me to make an appointment for x-rays, run the other direction. Lol During the consultation, it was clear that Dr. Sanchez had years of advanced specialized training with TMJ. He inspected my appliance and said he can definitely make one that's comparable. But even though it's slightly chipped in the front, it won't affect the functionality or comfort so it's not worth wasting my money on a new one. His advice was to continue using it until there's more serious wear. I felt relieved to find a dentist in my new city who's honest AND a highly experienced expert with TMJ.

I had a great visit. Everyone was in such a good mood and made me feel super comfortable…read more I was there for a routine cleaning and x-rays. After checking in, Alyssa took me to this upright machine to do X-rays. Then we went back for cleaning and more traditional x-rays. The view was really nice, a fountain running in the outdoor space you can see from the chair. Alyssa was great, I'm newer to Albuquerque so she was giving me tons of food recommendations, which I loved! The dentist came in for a few moments noted a tooth to watch and left. Given that I didn't have much going on, it was a super smooth appointment. Guardian insurance paid for everything. Definitely enjoyed my visit.

The…read moredentist ordered a Cone xray and I never heard of it so it was explained to me that the dentist ( I hadn't seen yet) wanted to get a better picture and my insurance would cover or I wouldn't be charged). I met with Dr Alyssa Candelaria and we had a discussion about my xrays and that she was referring me to a Dr Sparks, a periodontist. I do not have periodontal disease although my last dentist insisted on deep cleanings. I have an extensive upper bridge covering 9 teeth connected. It is beautiful and cost a fortune. She told me that a back tooth under the bridge had the beginning of an abscess and another was broken and infected. So her referral was for implants, bridge replacement and a totally unnecessary implant on a perfectly good lower molar. Dr Sparks does not take insurance and his consultation fee is $400-$500 alone. The implants would probably range around $30,000 with a bridge replacement so it's a $40k-50k expense. I'm 71 and on SS so how ridiculous is that. Found a periodontist who takes my insurance and luckily got a quick appointment. I do not have periodontal disease, there is no abscess or infection and completely unnecessary to remove anything. On top of that my insurance was billed for a complete dental exam! She never even looked in my mouth. UNETHICAL! I guess it's also medicare fraud since my humana plan is medicare advantage. BEWARE!! And don't let anyone there scare you or try to talk you into anything. Get a second opinion. Go to Copper Canyon family dentistry. Ethical and takes insurance.

While the exterior of the business is classic Menaul Blvd (you can read into that however you'd like), the interior was quite nice, modern, and professional. All the staff members were as friendly and engaging as anywhere I've ever been. I watched them interact with a variety of folks from all walks of life with decency. My dentist was Nathan Horton. Easy going, professional, and proficient. I will return in the future and use him. It was that comfortable. X-rays & check up, plus re-gluing my crown only set me back $108 as a cash client. That was about 1/2 what I anticipated the cost would be.

I confirmed the appointment ahead of time and arrived early at 5:26 p.m. to complete any necessary paperwork. After checking in, I waited approximately 30 minutes while the office verified my insurance, which I understood. I was checked in though. What became frustrating was that multiple patients who arrived after me for 6:00 p.m. appointments were called back before I was. I continued waiting without any communication from staff regarding the delay or an explanation of why I had been overlooked. After waiting for over 1 hour and 15 minutes past my scheduled appointment time, I finally approached the front desk to ask what was happening. The only response I received was, "Sorry." There was no explanation, update, or effort to address the situation. I understand that dental and medical offices can run behind schedule, and I try to be patient when delays occur. What disappointed me most was the complete lack of communication and consideration for my time. A simple explanation or periodic update would have gone a long way. Unfortunately, this was not a positive first impression, and based on this experience, I would be hesitant to return.
