This is a really cute store on Centre St near Green street. I go here pretty frequently to buy unique gifts for friends or fun accent pieces for my apartment. If you are in JP I would definitely recommend checking this place out. The owner is usually working and is very nice and attentive. He even wrapped the gift I was buying for me. They have a wide range of merchandise here, they sell nice things for your home like vases and clocks, but there is also some really fun jewelry and really beautiful cards. Cute little gift shop that fits right in with other Centre St stops. It's an eclectic mix: more of a place to go browse for something unexpected than somewhere to pick up a specific gift you had in mind. My wife loves this place. Cute stuff of all ranges, a nice color and decor/feel to the interior and the manager/owner is a very nice guy and very helpful. I know others have said it, but I absolutely love this store. They have amazing gifts that you just can't find anywhere else, plus, they have something for everyone that is on your gift giving list. They are more than reasonably priced, when you stop in for a gift, it's hard to leave without a little something for yourself! I'm leaving the area and am devastated that I won't have On Centre anymore to go to for presents. P.S. If I could give On Centre 10 stars I would... I stop in at least 2 times a week. Once to window shop, then again to purchase the products I can't stop thinking about. I may have to get a second job to account for all of the money spent at this fantastic shop. It is the first and last stop for any gifts I buy, and have found new reasons to celebrate friends and family: "Thank-you for waking up today", and " Happy Birthday To your Cat" are a few examples. They have a selection of merchandise for any occasion, and it is always rotating. Their price-points are very manageable, and the staff is always helpful. I highly suggest this shop! read more

I really, really, REALLY love this shop! Everyone who works there is super friendly -- including the owner. Their prices are reasonable and they always have unique items from a variety of vendors. Of course, their "kitchie" stuff that's slightly off-color is always fun (Unicorn-farting panties and matching socks are two of my most prized possessions). I very much enjoy this store. I initially thought it was a little too high on the expensive side but I have come to realize it is well worth slightly higher prices. Here is why. So often I find shopping for gifts and fun personal items to be so disappointing. Stores like Target and Walmart have cheap prices but you will get mass produced products that everyone has. On Centre may be slightly higher in prices but it's quite clear that the owner really cares about the products he sells and actually enjoys selling them. To me that's the best best kind of store and it shows. Today I was in with my mom and I bought the milk soap from France (which I love already) and the nice man told me he sells it because a friend gave him some once and he liked it and wanted to sell it to others. I love this business model and aspire to one day open a hat store with the same model. I also like that you can buy very unique and 'one of a kind' items. I recently bought a baby blanket for a friend's newborn. They are handmade in JP by a local artist. The price is high at $54 but again this seems so much more special and meaningful to me than getting some mass produced mediocre gift and I found the price worth it. I highly recommend supporting this local business! read more

This is my favorite store in the world. Phillip has impeccable taste so literally everything in here is worth buying. Plus, for what you are getting, the prices are really good. I did almost all my holiday shopping here last year. You can find something for your trendy 16 year old niece and your vegan, hippy, hard core environmentalist friend all at the same store. Phillip was not so nice to me. I got a gift card for 100.00 to purchase something from his store. I purchased a wireless speaker. When I got it home I tried it on my laptop, my iPad and my iPhone of which it never worked at all. Actually it made my laptop stop working with my Bose wireless speaker. So now I have to bring my laptop to the Geek Squad at Best Buy which is going to cost me money. So I brought back this 75.00 speaker thinking that he would at least give me the cash back so that I can use that to fix my laptop.....NO that did not happen he actually raised his voice and the other woman next to him starting fighting with me, i was being very nice and was in shock that he and his worker was acting like this. I told him I thought after reading your reviews on yelp you would have been better with this, I explained my disappointment and all he could say was well.... you can put it on yelp!!!!! What kind of owner wants poor reviews for his business and would not handle a very unhappy customer who has been given poor quality merchandise. Not very happy and now I am stuck with a 78.00 store credit which I am going to give to my local homeless man that takes bottles out of my trash... Let's see him deal with that customer!!!! read more
