This is my first yelp review and I hope it prevents others from shopping here! This place has smooth talkers and sells items for what appears to be an amazing price. If its too good to be true, its because it is! My cousins and I were looking for ipod touches and the guy was selling them from $299 (retail $399). We were waiting to pay for them and waiting for the units to come in when the salesperson was trying to sell us other stuff we didn't need. Long story short, we were sticking to our guns with buying only what we needed and adter 45 minutes, they guy puts the ipods away and say that we don't deserve the ipods and that would rather sell them to a deserving customer who buys more items. More like customers who get suckered by them! I just looked up reviews on the store just now and saw countless negative reviews on how they got ripped off. Please do not shop there. They told us to sell Iphones and Ipads for amazing price. Then they split the bill in 2 pieces and promise to pick up the apple stuff in the evening. In the evening the price rised up and so u have only bought some "additional" items but not the things because u entered the shop. I bought a replacement battery for my cell phone. To be specific, it's a D-X1 for Blackberry. I should have checked the regular price first! They charged me $79.99 saying it's the original price. Back at home, I searched on Internet and could find various prices for the particular battery but they were never above $11 for a brand-new! It was discouraging to find out, checking the reviews on Internet, that indeed this shop has been swindling tourists for so long. To think that such a scam business is thriving on 5th avenue (right across from New York Public Library for that matter!) How is that possible? STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORE ...unless you want to get ripped! I came here to buy a photo camera and they sold me a camera for a higher price than they told me in the store. Unfortunately, I only noticed this when I already arrived home and checked my banking account online and saw that they charged my credit card much higher than agreed in the store. It was terrible! The worst thing is that my receipt says at the bottom (and in very small letters) "NO exhange, NO refunds", which I realized when I got home. DO NOT BUY HERE! These guys are total con men. If it hadn't been for my cousin Noah here in New York, they would have got away with selling me less than $200 worth of gear for $980 - a wide angle lens, a polarising filter and a lens cap! I was naive and sucked in because Jean Pierre, one of the several front men, assured me I didn't need to upgrade my Nikon D90 if I bought the wide angle, day night lens - marked at $1500 but available at half price. Sucker! I took the bait. But then I had second thoughts, felt I'd been cheated, and saw that on Amazon and eBay, the same product sold for $30-50! I talked to my cuz, Noah, a New Yorker, who called first Jean Pierre, then Bob, who reluctantly agreed to let us swap the lens I'd paid $900+ for - for a lens that was worth closer to the amount paid. These people are thieves - as all the other reviews also point out. The fucks aren't worth a paper star, but I'll give them one so this review appears and they can be put out of their thieving business. Yelp - give these guys the big A. I walked in today looking for a Bluetooth speaker. My big mistake is that I should have just ordered on amazon. Instead I walked in and was scammed by the salespeople. So we didn't buy the product and they told us that credit card booking was cancelled. ( and My plan was to buy a camera with one extra Lens in addition to the Camera Kit ). Suddenly , The store start suggesting me another things. By the way They sold a Lens to me by 700$. Camera 1300$ ,Flash 8GB 80$. About the Lens 700$ . it was not in the original box and its real price was only 400$. About the flash Memory they said it's a new model and it has a lot of features... But anyway I bought it for 88$. But when I checked the same flash memory 8GB online ...it's price was 14$ only. They sold me the camera without the original Kit ( lens)+ the memory ...by 2,100$ ( Just the camera with 1 lens ) .... the price of it just should cost 1,600$ !!!!!so I lost 500$ ... but In real, the camera with the original Kit lens and with that lens that I bought ( Camera + original lens (which is 300$) + the lens that i bought ) should only cost me 1800$!!! look at this hell!!!!!!!!!!!!! The good thing was that I could save my self from buying more items... because they still talking and suggesting other things to me with their smooth and magic Speech. They also suggest a camera filter for me by 80$ but i didn't buy it. and when I checked the same filter online it was just for 3$. Another suggestion was that , they show me a protable projector (Data show ) and they showed me a link of amazon which shows the online price of that portable projector ( Data Show ). This not a serious business. They try to "sell' things that you did not ask for. They charge tax but do not issue invoice, keeping the money. CAUTION: CREDIT CARD FRAUD. They charged one card, said it didn't go thru, and asked for a second card. I gave it to them, and both cards were charged. MORE PROBLEMS: I walked into their store in NYC, looking for an earbud for my cell phone. They offered me a set with an extraordinary high price of $79 - with a sticker on it that said "Original" or "OEM". They apologized for the high price when I said I normally pay $19 or less for earbuds, saying it was original equipment. It simply wasn't OEM - they put a fraudulent label on it. DON'T BUY ANYTHING HERE!!! The worst experience I'have ever had. They sold me a "new" iphone 6, with 1 year guarantee worldwide for a cheaper price (around 100$ less than in Apple). The packaging was perfect and the sales man was so friendly. Too good to be true. A few weeks later, I went to Apple store because it was having battery problems. Very hostile employees. I bought a kindle there, wanted to return it and they only give store credit. When I said I wish I knew that the guy with blueish eyes started getting very hostile and SCREAMING at me!!!!! Felt very intimidated and thought this guys gonna get physical!!!!! Holy sh_t!!!! I said please just give me my store credit so I can leave. He was still screaming at me, the other employee tried to calm him down, and finally at that point he wrote up the credit. As he was writing it up I told him I would have paid the extra $100, but since he went psycho on me, I just wanted to get OUTTA there!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I also asked of they have another location bc I want to avoid going back to that store to use my credit, but the nicer employee said he didn't want to get involved. Stay away from this place. I needed to buy a battery for my camera. I was working at the New York Public Library across the street and had forgotten my battery charger. I went in here, and the salesman said the battery is $59. You can buy it elsewhere for $10. You can definitely buy good electronics at cheap prices in NY, but not here. It's run by con artists. I'm writign this review to warn you to never buy anything in this shop! 2 weeks ago I went there because I needed a battery charger for my casio camera from Germany.. This was the first shop where I could find a compatible battery charger. Later it turned out it wasn't compatible.. The battery wasn't really chared and after ther second use, the charger broke.. I wanted to return it and buy a compatible one, which wasn't possible. He said I won't get my money back and he didn't agree with the battery charger. He said the broken one is charging and tried to convince me, then I expained the instructions to him!!! He was willing to give me a new one. And I didn't want to brake my battery (which will be the result of a non compatible charger) of my expensive camera from germany. and because I wouldn't have got my money back, I decided to buy the cheapest digital camera in this shop, because the $60 I already paied for the charger were credited. BUT the ful price was $130!!! There are no real declared prices on the items, I mean there are prices, but like $ 300 for the oldest digital camera.. he said thats the normal price and he gives discounts. Who believes that??? I told him that I know $130 ist too much for this camera, but I bought it because I would have lost $60 for the charger. Now I hope that the camera will work well. He didn't like me because he knew that I knew that he was trying to make a fool of me. Now I regret that I didn't throw the battery charger away and bought a good camera for $ 100 in another shop. I checked it out in the internet later. The camera I bought for $130 would normally cost around max $80. I mean they have to charge more in small shops but this is way too much.
