Keep your eyes on the Verizon, and there's no line on the Verizon like U2 said, not unless you want to pay a lotttttttttt like I do. This is a large Verizon store by Manhattan standards right next to Grand Central, and it seems brand new, much like a lot of food court places inside Grand Central right next to it. You can eat really well around here, but they're not cheap because Grand Central has so many options when it comes to phones. And seriously, Verizon just keeps ripping me off. I stopped in here because of some issues with the phone and I could not believe how much more they wanted to charge me than the little repair stores to fix stuff. I'm not talking about twice as much. I'm talking about 7 times as much or something like that. It's beyond ridiculous. At least it's shiny and new and Verizon does have good service so I'll give them that. Terrible Customer Service, avoid Dante! I went in today and they had a Manager named Dante. He was completely rude to me the whole time. I was standing a good 5 feet away from where he was sitting and he said: "do you mind sitting down, you're making me uncomfortable". He also made a joke about my ethnicity, out of nowhere. I complained to the General Manager about him and he just went to the stock room, to hide out. I simply left after that. I work near Grand Central so this location works best for me but after being a customer with multiple lines for 9 years I'm thinking about switching carriers after my experience at this Verizon Store. Beware. So you don't waste your time like I did I ordered apple AirPods on Verizon online to be picked up at this location. These were originally $169 and on sale with Verizon for $144. Received 2 emails confirming the order and the ready to be picked up confirmation. Arrived at the Verizon location on Lexington to pick up and was told these were out of stock. The clerk told me I should have reviewed a cancel order email. I never received such email. As it turns out, the clerk lied and no cancelled order email was sent. I later found out the Verizon store might have had the item in stock but did not want to offer the promotional price that's was online. The store wants to hold out and sell it for full price. This is totally understandable, but they should be clear on this and not waste customers time. After receiving a defective box via Online, I was offered a replacement at this location (store pickup). Upon arrival I was greeted by Jon, who asked how my day was. Agitated was my answer due to this extra store run, and stated I wanted to leave quickly hahah. On the way home last night I dropped into this new Verizon store to look at some new phones and ask some questions about the plan I am on. It's a brand new store with a good location next to Grand Central. Entrances inside the station and also on the outside street. This is a large store with ample room to walk around and view the products on tables and display shelves. It's almost too big with plenty of unused floor space. Staff was helpful and informative enough. Hours are ok but close kind of early by 7pm Mon-Fri, 7:30pm on Sat, and 6pm on Sun. Eh, it's just another of the thousands of cell phone stores that seem to pop up everywhere nowadays. Gonna stick with the phone and plan I am on until I get a free upgrade deal. read more

This is not about the store but the issue that Verizon only shows the 800 number for each of their stores. Which means if your customer has a question about an item being in the store before they take the drive or walk to the store, they are not able to check with the store in advance. read more

Coming from a person who worked for a corporate cell phone company (for 5 years) this store needs to work way better on their customer service, and overall knowledge. For starters I went to this location to open a new line / new account! I already was given an application approval number earlier in the day and I was advised from Verizon customer service all I needed to do was provide the store with the number and my ID. First of all, the first sales rep was rude and she was so desperate to go on her lunch. Second the store "manager" JUNIOR put me on the phone with customer care in the store and I was informed that the application number was approved. When I told him this he still refused to assist and kept insisting the application was denied. I came back to my office and dialed customer service once again to confirmed my application status. It just turns out the reps and manager (Because to be a manager you lead by example) in this store were just PURE LAZY and not interested in helping at that moment! Not sure if this company gives training to their workers or they just allow the workers to be rude and dismissive. Will for sure leave a follow up to this review once this outcome is resolved. read more

September 30, 2020 - I was having a problem taking selfies with my new Samsung Android A01. After spending way too much time googling trying to find out how to resolve the issue, I finally went to this Verizon store where I had originally purchased the phone to seek help. Jimmy to the rescue! He pointed out that I had inadvertently put my screen protector on upside down (who knew?) and that was blocking the selfie camera. Jimmy was kind enough to put a different screen protector on my phone and I was good to go! I sincerely appreciate the fantastic customer service at this Verizon Wireless location. Really clean and wonderfully organized store in midtown. I came her to pick up my pre-ordered iPhone and the employees saw my order in the computer and retrieved it quickly. the process was very easy and I liked resting for a minute at the table. They have outlets at all the tables if you need to charge your devices. Employees were super helpful and friendly. I liked the display of all the Google Home products too. read more

I walked in to get a new phone, and the employees did not greet me or even try to help once I told them what I was looking for. I left the store and went to a different one because I could barely manage a simple answer to any of my questions or even get any of the help (that was not difficult) that I needed. So I actually went back to this location thinking staff changed over. I have a Verizon phone and now need service. I kind of recognized that nice manager guy and told him I thought I spoke with him a few months back. He set me up with a sales guy but I had to think about what service I wanted. So this guy said I had to wait my turn again which was no problem. I know they are busy and I signed up again at kiosk. This time a girl took me. I thought it was that same girl who was rude to me last time!...but wasn't sure. We talked and she answered ever last question I had so was pretty thorough. She ended up telling me they will wave the initiation fee for me. What? I asked her if they normally do that. She said no and it was the manager guy who decided this. Also when I called up 1-800-Verizon they told me the stores never wave this. So this was a complete surprise and extremely nice. Please note, I didn't tell them it was me, the one who wrote a past review, etc. However, I ended up connecting it for them before I left. Told girl I thought she was the one who was rude to me once and told her what she said. She said she kind of remembered. I told the manager too. They eyed each other smiling so who knows if they remembered me initially. Probably not. They were lighthearted about it all actually. So strangely, I am happy with how it all ended and now I have new great phone service! read more

Very helpful staff! We bought two new phones. Had a real problem transferring data from one of the old phones. The staff stuck with it and everything transferred OK. The representative and the general manager gave us their business cards. We had minor problems. We emailed the manager and she replied within minutes. This is a "Car Dealership" They will try to sell you a new phone and try to up-sell at all cost. If you have issues with your phone and trying to get it fixed, avoid this place. If your also trying to upgrade, your better off going to the website, as this store will try to sell at full retail price. They fully lack Customer Service and repair here I just wanted my Swollen battery Exchanged, not buy a Mercedes Benz. I was better off going to Apple where they completely changed my whole phone for just over $50. Nice, roomy store to walk around and browse the products and play with features. Horrible customer service. You walk in and you are nicely greeted by someone with a tablet who you think will have all the knowledge needed to help you. NO. He takes your info down and, God forbid you need sales help, you are put on a waiting list. I walked in well after the lunch crowd, hoping to get the store to myself, yet I waited at least 20 minutes while other customers walked in and were immediately helped by other Verizon reps with tablets. What the hell kind of customer service is this? It's NOT WORKING! How do you leave your long-time customer hanging like that? VERY BAD Customer service. I needed a new phone and with the new phone I was told that it was mandatory that my calling plan change. (REALLY?) I was told I would be paying $10 a month more with new plan and and additional $4 in insurance because of the type of phone I purchased. (Yet if you read the contract, you have a higher deductible so that sucks) I asked my sales guy (Some lanky, wanna-be nerd) for a receipt after he charged me way-too much for my phone and was told that it would be emailed to me. It has been 3 weeks since I purchased my phone and I am still waiting for my receipt. To top it off, I kept getting messages from Verizon that my data usage was almost up (in less than two weeks???) so I called Verizon's # to complain and was told that I can still keep my old plan where I never went over my data usage. So I managed to get my old plan at my old cost back again. Can't wait for my contract to be up. read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. I purchased a new phone from this Verizon location a little over a week ago. When I arrived, I was greeted and put my name down. Soon I was called upon by an associate named Karen. She was helpful and charming but what I later learned was that she was completely full of BS. She sold me on the "edge" program that allows you to upgrade your phone every year with no payment upfront. She promised me there would be no additional charges except for a monthly fee of $20 for the phone, but a promotional $25 discount back, therefore, my bill would be less than normal. I thought this was too good to be true and she convinced me by saying the company makes money by selling the phones back to the distributors after they are returned. I walked out very happy and confident in my decision. 1 hour later I noticed that I wasn't receiving any text messages. I went back to the Verizon store to see what the problem was and there was an hour wait before anyone could help me. I did not have the time to wait around after just spending over an hour there earlier. Apparently, after switching from Apple to Droid, most people experience this problem and all you have to do is simply disable your imessages, BEFORE YOU SWITCH. Karen forgot to mention this - oh well. A week later, my family bill comes in and our payment due is $150 more than usual. I knew this was a mistake so I went back to the same Verizon store. I waited about 45 minutes before speaking to anyone. Finally, I had the pleasure of meeting Ellen - a not so hospitable employee. She pulled up my bill and told me that I was charged $53 in taxes for the phone that is always billed in the beginning. Another small detail Karen forgot to mention the first time around. Then she said I was charged an additional $32 because the first bill is always more expensive. I asked her why and she said "it just is, I don't know why. It's only a little more anyways..." She couldn't explain the rest of the bill either. She was very rude and did not want to help me. I have been a Verizon customer for as long as I can remember and have never received such bad customer service. I was manipulated into this plan and completely regret it. I would like to file a complaint online but there is no where to do this. Kudos to the manager of this store, and to Missy and Ahmed! On 9/4/13 I walked in to upgrade my phone about 20 minutes before closing. Missy assisted me with the whole procedure and was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. It also didn't take very long! I walked out of the store just in time for them to lock the doors behind me! On 9/6 I returned to the store to exchange the iPhone 5 back to an iPhone 4. This time, Ahmed helped me and was also very knowledgeable. I made sure to tell the manager, a lovely young lady whose name I did not get, that her staff was very professional and that I had an excellent experience. This is absolutely one of the most dogshit stores for Verizon I have ever been to in my entire life. Forget about the fact that they kept me waiting 30 minutes on a simple question. Forget about the fact that most of the staff was in the back Lallygagging very loudly while the floor had other customers. Forget that the supervisor said he would be right back and after 25 minutes of hearing him in the back, he sent someone else who said they couldn't help me. Forget the fact that they had employees briefly on the floor looking down at there cell phones while customers had not been helped. A poor old lady who was a recent window, was next to me trying to get them to help her with her billing issues because everything was in her husband's name. They had zero interest In helping her so much she called Verizon in a Verizon store. This poor widow asked for a charger for her phone because it was going to die while she was on the phone with Verizon. Staff told her the charger was for store customers only. Look, I can't speak to anyone else's experience, but frankly mine was phenomenal. I showed up on a Saturday evening, a few minutes before closing with a busted phone. Apple couldn't help me and they recommended that I check with Verizon to see what my plan would allow. Turns out, my plan made it easy - I was walked through my options painlessly and ended up swapping phones for a super low price (and even got an upgrade). Plus, I got a ton of store credit for phone swag. Major shout out to Louis - definitely the best customer service rep I've ever dealt with. I am on the hunt for a phone case. I walked in to this Verizon since I was already in Grand Central. Maybe the location made me have high expectations--futile. I asked for the phone cases for my particular phone. The guy working pointed them out to me. I began to peruse. While I'm perusing, he opens the drawer below to help another customer. I'm thinking, when will he close the drawer so that I can get to the cases. I managed to get one case off, try it, don't like it, so I put it back. I move to the other side, while said drawer is still open. I try another case. It doesn't budge. I turn around to look at him; he's looking at me trying to pry it without saying a word. I say, "Can you please help me get this case off so that I can try it?" His response: "No." I'm confused. He tells me that they're not supposed to come off, and he proceeds to look for one from underneath the stack. At that moment, a woman comes and looks. She tells me, quite nicely, "Ma'm, try this one in black." I ask, "Can I truly it?" They say, almost in unison, they can't be opened. I say, "How can I know that it will fit my phone?" The tall white man with the ponytail again comments, "Just look at it." At this point, I'm incredulous. I'm thinking what foolishness is this? I just like the Apple IPhone store looking for cases and tried every single one I wanted without anyone side-eyeing me or being rude.
