Yesterday was my first time visiting The Human Bean, and I got a small (12 oz) Marshmallow Iced Matcha -- it was so freaking good! I loved it so much that I went back today and ordered the 20 oz Marshmallow Iced Matcha along with a blueberry muffin. OMG -- both were amazing! The flavor, the freshness, everything was on point. This is such a cute little coffee drive-thru spot (I think they also have a walk-up window, but I didn't get a chance to check). The customer service is a solid 10/10 -- so friendly and quick. I'm a total matcha person right now (but I love coffee too) and this place has officially become my new go-to. I think they even have a rewards program, which is a nice bonus. First time trying this place. We loved it!! They give you a small chocolate coffee flavor bean on top of your drink, amazing!! I ordered an iced Muddy and it's worth every penny! My daughter ordered an iced Java-chip and it's now her favorite too! The cashier lady was so friendly and even gave us menus, stickers, and a key-chain!! I have been wanting to try this spot of since they've opened, and I finally decided to stop by. I got the snowy mocha w/a few pumps of vanilla. Couldn't taste the caramel, the mocha was overpowering(imo) & a lot on the sweet side, & again that's just my opinion. Such a cute grab and go drive through coffee. Staff is friendly, facilitate is nice. They have interesting flavors with a pretty simple menu. However they do offer a decent size food selection. Most drive up coffee shops do not offer really food. This one actually does, and it's not just your simple grab and go food. They have hot food as a option. For example breakfast bagel sandwich. Go check out the new coffee stand in converse and leave a review on your thoughts. Today is opening day. read more

Personally, I wasn't a fan of their coffee at all. I ordered a Lavender latte with an extra shot, and it was so watered down. The ladies seemed quite short on patience and customer service lacked. I appreciated the chocolate covered coffee bean though. My kids enjoyed the kids drinks. read more

Shut the front door! I have found a coffee lover's paradise! And at the same time have discovered what New Yorkers' have known all along-what an actual bagel truly is-fantastic!. Right here on the roadside between San Antonio and Converse Texas is a place called the Human Bean. (Why didn't I think of that?) Brand new with origins coming from the Pacific Northwest this one here is the first in the area and glad I found them. Ever since this place opened it's been a cup of heaven. I usually grab a green tea smoothie on the way home and when I can a coffee on the way to work. I love how the service is so prompt and that they have an app for rewards as well. I have only been inside once or twice but I really like the feel of it. Very open and inviting. The people are friendly and the coffee is tasty. I do have a confession that I am a bit obsessed with the little bean they give you when serving your drink to you. I'm like a kid in a candy store, I wanna ask for two but I know that's just greedy lol. Love this place and so glad it's in our neighborhood. read more

My boyfriend brought us to try this place the other day and I'm so glad he did! We love working out and the fact that you can add protein powder to your beverage is a huge plus! I got a white chocolate macadamia protein shake and it was a 10/10 for flavor. I think my bf got a dark chocolate mocha drink with protein and that once was great too. The staff was friendly and very thorough in explaining the options so service was definitely on point! There's a drive thru but you can also walk up to another counter to place your order if you want to get out of the car. Hoping to return soon! read more

I've been meaning to try them out since it's so close. I got postcard in the mail and stopped by today. I wasn't in the mood for coffee so I tried their black tea with peach. It was the best peach tea I've had. The service was prompt. 4 cars in front of me and the wait was minimal. I was greeted by a very sweet young lady when I got to the window. She was friendly, professional and very personable. She answered my questions I had and was happy to do it. Next time I'll be trying their coffee and can't wait to see how it is. Simply disgusting. I own a espresso machine, so I cater to quality coffee each & every day. The beans the use here are the most one dimensional, flavorless, stanky coffee I've seen in along time. Your stupid bean you put on top of the coffee isn't cute, it's confusing. read more

Starbucks could NEVER. The staff here is adorable and so friendly! I wasn't sure what to order so they gave their recommendations and I ended up with a Pumpkin Snowy which is freakin DELICIOUS. On top of that, I got a Spinach and Feta Stuffed Pretzel and it was an absolute dream. I frequent small coffee shops almost exclusively and I've never seen a menu with that level of flavor complexity, what seems like a no brainer for breakfast type food is often missed, but they really did a fantastic job. In addition to that, maybe because they've just opened, they gave me some samples of other fast options they have. They gave me the Orange Cranberry Muffin Top, Raspberry Cream Cheese Bar, and their Granola Bar, I'm super stoked to try all of them with my son. We paid for a pastry and then told us we did not ask for one. When asked for a receipt, the amounts did not add up to the correct subtotal. They then proceeded to tell us that oat milk costs $1.50 per drink. Great product but the service was awful. read more

Hey! If you're looking for somewhere to grab coffee, The Bean is the perfect spot. They have a promotion going on right now where select drinks are only $2.50. That's right... $2.50! I got the Caramel Hazelnut Shaken Espresso, and it was really good. One thing I loved is that all of their coffees are customizable, so you can make your drink exactly how you like it. The customer service was also 10/10. They even gave me a cute little keychain with my order! And here's the best part: if you buy four or more of the $2.50 promotional drinks, you get a free tote bag. How cute is that? So if you're ever on that side of town, definitely check them out! It doesn't seem like they stock large amounts of food, so if you want a bite to eat I might skip this spot. We just wanted a good coffee though, so it was the perfect find!

It was cozy but sleek, I loved all of the plants at the coffee bar, the menu wall was really cool, and the collage poster at the back of the shop definitely had stories to be told. The café as a whole was clean and quiet, and the kind barista was relatively quick with our order. We ordered a Blue Lagoon Smoothie and an Iced Matcha Latte with Hazelnut. The Blue Lagoon was a blend of blueberries, raspberries, and oranges, but it tasted more orangey than anything. I couldn't really taste the blueberries or raspberries all too well, but the sweetness of them prevented the drink from being too acidic in flavor from all of the orange. For the Matcha Latte, it was also difficult to clearly taste the flavors, let alone the matcha at all. It was on the more bitter side, but it was a smooth drink at the very least. While the establishment and service get 5 stars, the drinks only get 3. It's definitely one of those places where I wish the drinks lived up to the atmosphere so I'd be more inclined to visit again, but I'd honestly be alright skipping over another visit to this café.

My fiancé and I picked up a couple of drinks this morning from On The Grind, and our stomachs are royally paying for it. I'd like to start out by saying that the baristas were super delightful and cheerful despite having just opened up while it was still dark outside at 5 am. They were great, I just wish I could say the same about the drinks. We ordered the Sandlot, blended with 'the works,' and an iced Grasshopper alongside a Blueberry Muffin Top. The Sandlot was supposed to be a s'mores beverage, but the flavors were too muddled to identify anything resembling a s'more. The syrup was too sweet and chemically and did NOT work well with the chocolate. It felt like they were at odds against one another in the drink, there was absolutely no marshmallow taste, and to top it all off the espresso was burnt. We had to really mix the chocolate up from the bottom to try to cut said burnt espresso taste, but that just made the clashing of flavors even worse. The Grasshopper was sour. I initially thought it might be the creme de menthe battling with the white chocolate as the flavors once again did not balance with each other in the slightest, but no, the drink was sour. This drink was not mixed well, the burnt espresso growing more offensive with each sip. We'd hoped the Blueberry Muffin Top would help get rid of the downright foul and lingering taste of these drinks from our tastebuds, but it just added to the chaos tasting like a slightly more upscale Little Debbie mini muffin, chemicals and everything. It was too sweet and needed something more bitter to pair with it, but the coffees were far too nasty and bitter to warrant consumption. My fiancé and I will typically finish drinks that we've purchased, even if we're not fans of them, since we consider it a waste of money not to. We put these beverages down after we consumed a little less than a quarter of each one because they were legitimately undrinkable. Between the burnt espresso, sour liquid, and disgusting syrups, we had to tap out. We couldn't even make it through half of the Muffin Top. I'm thankful that we didn't force ourselves to eat or drink more of these because we are in wicked physical pain right now. If I wasn't so ill I would be more livid as an ex-barista that they thought it was okay to serve these to customers. I'd leave a one star for the garbage quality and food poisoning alone but the baristas genuinely were so kind to us, so it gets two.

I claimed a little corner seat where I could soak up some natural light, sip my coffee, and happily disappear into my book. Even with several people inside, it never felt noisy or distracting. The baristas were incredibly friendly and took the time to walk me through their menu and offer recommendations. I ended up ordering the Coco- Ro-Dachio iced latte (coconut, chocolate, and pistachio) and asked for it to be less sweet. They absolutely nailed it--it was smooth, balanced, and let all the flavors shine without tasting like dessert in a cup. I also loved seeing the variety of coffee beans for their different coffees. If you're into trying different coffees, you'll have plenty of options to explore. Prices were very reasonable, especially for the quality and size of the drink. The only minor downside is that parking can be a little tight since it's in a smaller shopping center. On the plus side, they're open until 8 p.m., which makes it a great option whether you're looking for a morning pick-me-up or an evening coffee break.
