I cannot rave enough about this establishment ...The food is amazing, always so fresh and made-to-order! The sourdough bread is so incredibly crusty and delicious, coming from my favorite Portuguese place in Farmingville. My husband said the French onion soup was the best he's ever had....Not to overlook the ambience, which is so welcoming and relaxing. This truly adds a nice touch to the overall dining experience. Stace and her daughter Katherine add so much love and life to this beautiful restaurant. We celebrated my sister's milestone birthday there last September in a cozy private room upstairs. It was beyond spectacular from beginning to end. We continue to return to Sunflower Cafe and Bakery quite often, and always have such a pleasant and warm experience! They also offer a wonderful weekend brunch menu on Sunday's with truly creative and delicious entrées. I believe they are approaching their 3 year anniversary in November, and it's not surprising that they are able to thrive and grow in such a tough economic environment. Run, don't walk to this INCREDIBLE restaurant. It's always such an amazing time for us both. Desserts are also so scrumptious as well, with the option to take home treats from the small bakery area if desired! Thanks to the entire staff for always treating us like family...Cannot wait to return very soon.

The seats are wooden and some found them uncomfortable. The food was good. The striped bass was really tasty. The spinach was delicious with a hint of garlic. The au poivre sauce was a little too salty (2 people stated) but not inedible. If you are the type that orders salads or appetizers then you might be ok with a long wait. Some in our group were painfully hungry by the time entrees arrived.

The employees greeted me as soon as I walked in, which made for a welcoming start to the morning. I really liked the cozy, homey atmosphere, especially the brown leather couches that made the space feel comfortable and inviting. My cappuccino was excellent, topped with just the right dash of cinnamon, and the almond croissant was fresh and delicious. I was told their pastries come from a local bakery. The prices were comparable to other cafés in the area, making it a great option whether you're looking for a quick coffee run or a place to relax for a while. I'd definitely recommend checking them out.

The shop itself was nicely laid out with places for customers to relax and/or work while enjoying their beverage (and possibly dessert). There were ample tables and seating choices for customers to choose from depending on their needs. My Town's Cafe had a lot of beverages and pastries to offer. I was a little overwhelmed, but was just as happy to see variety. The drink menus that I immediately saw were mainly the specials and baristas' recommendations. I didn't see a regular menu without all of the fancy drinks until after I had paid as they were laminated and lying along the counter. I was a little bummed because there weren't any prices written for the speciality drink items and I really didn't NEED to have a fancy drink that cost almost $7. With that said, I tried one of their Spring Specials, the Biscoff Bliss Latte. It was a little sweet, but the hints of Biscoff, Nutella, and cookie butter were prominent. I also ordered a piece of bread pudding upon recommendation from the staff. It had the potential to be really good, but it definitely tasted as if it had been in their cooler for several days. I usually love visiting local coffee spots, but My Town's Cafe missed the mark for me. Perhaps I came in on an off day for them.

But we've visited Roto a few times for dinner, and they truly have the best dinner options in town. The dinner menu rotates, so it feels like you're going to a different restaurant every time, but the options never disappoint. This time it was a fixed menu, and when I tell you every serving was perfect, no detail was overlooked. The caviar play on sour cream and onion was amazing! The short rib was tender, melt in your mouth good. Even the little gem salad had the most amazing flavors, perfectly balanced! My favorite was the chocolate cake, delicate and not overly sweet. I'm not a sweets girl, and I ate the leftovers the next day, did not share! The service is so attentive. We visited once for dinner, and the second time the server already remembered our favorite wine. The ambiance is absolutely perfect for a date night. I will continue to visit. Bonus, they also have amazing lunch and breakfast options during the day!

Customer service was fast and friendly, and the decor felt modern and chill. When I got home, I was a bit surprised by the size of the sandwich, especially for $19 and change. Being from Florida, I'm used to much larger Cuban sandwiches, so I had hoped to split it. That said, the flavors were solid and everything tasted fresh. I'd definitely consider stopping in again, especially to dine in and enjoy the atmosphere. While prices are on the higher side, it seems like a nice spot to sit down and take in the vibe.

I really do take far too many photos, but it's helpful because then I remember there are spots I may have forgotten to write up like Macchiato Espresso Bar. I visited this cute Mattituck location back in late August and the results were pretty tasty. You see my wife and I were looking for some coffee and a place that's different than what we've often found on the North Fork and so MEB popped up as an option. Not a ton of reviews were posted, but from the ones on Yelp (and dare I say Google too) made it seem worthy of stopping. The worthiness is definitely there because Macchiato has a nice array of coffee options as well as pastries and more elaborate edibles (sandwiches, salads, etc.). You can find everything on their menus though you won't find too much else inside as the place is definitely small. A couple of tables, some fridge drinks and pre-maid foods, and an area of swag and other items is the entirety of the interior so don't expect any true cozy feels. But hey, you can't drink cozy (well maybe in the Fall/Winter), and so let's turn our attention back to the name of this place and focus on coffee. I went with an iced latte with vanilla while my wife tried the iced chocolate (as it was written on the menu). For me, I liked mine. Nothing negative to necessarily say about it as it had a good coffee kick, but when my wife felt like hers was a little too heavy in the bitter bang before the chocolate took over, I decided for us to switch drinks as I thought the iced chocolate was delightful (I do like my coffee a little stronger). Before finishing up, I do want to mention that we were a bit hungry and so one of the chocolate croissants in the display case made its way into our possession. The funny interaction my wife had with the friendly staff member ("Is that a chocolate croissant?" "You know it is!") added to our excitement and oh did it pay off as it tasted delicious. Overall, Macchiato Espresso Bar had a lot to like. Perhaps they're a little small, but they pack some good coffee and pastry/food choices in an area that really doesn't have a ton of options. I'd definitely return another time when out east and in search of my morning cup of joe along with a desire for a bite to eat. And with that I can now post some very belated pics with this review so the CMs stay off my back!

However it's said, an easy statement would be that it's quite tasty and for sure a good location to check out, which is what I did with my mother last week. Walking up and into Tatte might give you some retro NYC vibes, but the place actually originated outside of the Empire State. You'd never know because the white-tiled look definitely feels like something classy and Manhattan-originated. Luckily, the pricing isn't necessarily city level as Tatte has a large menu of baked goods, actual meal options, and coffee choices all at around what you'd probably expect to pay for a place like this. The setup when first ordering is a little chaotic if there are a lot of people figuring out what to get between menu viewing and the glass case of premade baked items, but once you do get your order going you can find a table and sit with your number while you wait for your goods. For me, I got my coffee right away as it was a cold brew that was able to be made there. Twas a special at the time, an orange blossom vanilla cold foam cold brew. Was it unique? For sure. Did it entirely land? Not sure. I did try a sip of my mother's caramel latte and that seemed pretty legit. What was also legit was the grub. We each ordered a halloumi sunny-side breakfast sandwich which was delicious (though a tad more halloumi would've been perfection). Close to perfection as well was the pistachio croissant we shared. I definitely see the level of quality coming through in a spot like this. Overall, Tatte has some solid aspects working for it with plenty to love. Coffee seemed quality, food was fantastic, and the setup was great, though the blasting 80s music, despite totally in my wheelhouse, might have thrown the vibes off a tad. Either way, Tatte has what you're looking for, though personally, Garden City is a little far for me to get to these days. If Tatte does ever expand out east, you know I'll be pronouncing that name very often.
