I love going to this healthy bakery in Garden City. Some foods are gluten free, dairy free and soy free. Good service from the eatery staff. Lunch hours were busy, but the place was less crowded during dinner, making it a more relaxed time to visit. I love the comfortable and cozy atmosphere. The Lamb Kebab Plate is delicious and healthy. The Matcha Latte with oat milk is to die for, definitely one of my favorites. For dine-in orders, the staff brings your food and drinks to your table by looking for the tag number given to you at the register when you order and pay. The drinks are served in ceramic cups, while meals come in ceramic bowls with stainless steel utensils. It's a nice touch and a more eco-friendly alternative to disposable tableware. read more

Bring a book or something with you so you can reserve said table while you then grab your menu and stand on line to place your order. Now this next part is top tier 'restauranting'...their website has legit photos of the menu items. Now this may not be a big deal to you, but if you know you know that most often you can only find quality photos on Yelp. The fact that they have photos of the menu items that actually look exactly like how it looks when it comes out. They deserve a Michelin just for that. So yea . Go to site pick what you want. The Whole menu is fire which is why they getting my whole check. I had the BALT (with an added egg) amazing . My sister had the short rib grilled cheese. We both cleaned our plates. Also had the morning bun chileeee omg delish! For drinks she had the mango ginger which had a nice level of ginger and sweetness. I had the fig sparkling lemon mint soda which was so balanced . I can't believe I've never reviewed Tatte Bakery, because it is easily one of my favorite bakeries. I first discovered Tatte in Boston several years ago and immediately fell in love with the brand. Their breakfast sandwiches have always been my favorite. I used to say that I wished they would open a location closer to me, so you can imagine how happy I was when I heard that a location had finally opened in Garden City last year. Long overdue, but absolutely worth the wait! After dinner in Garden City tonight, we simply drove across the parking lot and stopped in. Of course, I couldn't leave empty-handed. I picked up two chocolate croissants and a tiramisu to take home. The chocolate croissants were beautifully flaky and buttery, and the tiramisu was a lovely indulgence. Everything looked as beautiful as it tasted, which is something I've always appreciated about Tatte. It was the perfect way to end our evening. read more

I've had Tatte a long time ago while visiting Boston and had heard good things about the location here, so I made my way to Garden City to pick up food for myself and friends. The inside of this cafe is a true chaos. The counter area is so far away from the kitchen where they're pumping out cooked orders. There's wind funnels that look unsightly and blasts air right into where the waiting line for the counter is. Because the counter area is so large and separates half of the seating area, the kitchen staff has to keep weaving around those standing in line or waiting for their order to deliver food to the tables. I made an order that included both pre-prepped food from the pastry case and sandwiches that needed to be prepared in the kitchen. The staff taking the order was very nice, but she packed me my prepared food and didn't tell me how I would know when the rest of my order would be ready. I waited by the counter for a very long time, assuming that the food would be delivered to her. It took a long time for me to realize that the food would not be delivered to me and I'd have to go to the kitchen area to pick it up. During this time, I saw so many situations where patrons nearly bumped into the servers. I also didn't love that despite the space, they had two printed menus at the front that patrons could look at, and that was it. The menus were gone half the time I was observing. For the food, it was pretty good. My friend is obsessed with the ham and cheese croissant (which apparently runs out midday often). I had the fig and prosciutto, which tasted great. Good Brie cheese and nice mix of sweet and salty, with the ciabatta being not too hard to bite into. The labaneh I got was a little more watery than I had expected, but tasted fine. It's not the best value food around the area, but it was good consistent quality and I could see why it was so busy in the middle of Thursday lunch time. I have heard that earlier times are less crowded, so I would love to revisit for sit-down brunch service and try their drinks. But I really hope they change the order system and tidy up the vent and delivery situation. read more

I went to Tatte in Boston and was shocked to find out there in NY. Went to meet a friend for breakfast and we were both as happy as I was at the Boston/Brookline location! The pistachio latte is perfect, you don't have to add anything! The scrambled eggs with sourdough and sauteed tomatoes is a light and easy nutritious breakfast. We also had the breakfast croissant sandwich with beef sausage and avocado. Every bite is flaky deliciousness! The staff is friendly. Michelette and Prince both checked on us and made sure that we were ok and if we needed anything. The cashiers are friendly and professional! I went again to try the Jerusalem bagel! Loved it! Read the cup and say it with me "Tatte like latte." That's just in case you don't know how to pronounce this cute coffee/bakery/food spot. However it's said, an easy statement would be that it's quite tasty and for sure a good location to check out, which is what I did with my mother last week. Walking up and into Tatte might give you some retro NYC vibes, but the place actually originated outside of the Empire State. You'd never know because the white-tiled look definitely feels like something classy and Manhattan-originated. Luckily, the pricing isn't necessarily city level as Tatte has a large menu of baked goods, actual meal options, and coffee choices all at around what you'd probably expect to pay for a place like this. The setup when first ordering is a little chaotic if there are a lot of people figuring out what to get between menu viewing and the glass case of premade baked items, but once you do get your order going you can find a table and sit with your number while you wait for your goods. For me, I got my coffee right away as it was a cold brew that was able to be made there. Twas a special at the time, an orange blossom vanilla cold foam cold brew. Was it unique? For sure. Did it entirely land? Not sure. I did try a sip of my mother's caramel latte and that seemed pretty legit. What was also legit was the grub. We each ordered a halloumi sunny-side breakfast sandwich which was delicious (though a tad more halloumi would've been perfection). Close to perfection as well was the pistachio croissant we shared. I definitely see the level of quality coming through in a spot like this. Overall, Tatte has some solid aspects working for it with plenty to love. Coffee seemed quality, food was fantastic, and the setup was great, though the blasting 80s music, despite totally in my wheelhouse, might have thrown the vibes off a tad. Either way, Tatte has what you're looking for, though personally, Garden City is a little far for me to get to these days. If Tatte does ever expand out east, you know I'll be pronouncing that name very often. read more

The hot chocolate was made with 62% Valrhona dark chocolate and whisked together with steamed milk. I watched the barista slowly mix the milk into the cup. The end result? A H/C that's not too sweet but a silky smooth and velvety drink. Visited here with my family on a Saturday and my gosh what an overwhelming line! Thankfully it moved super quick, and within 20 minutes we had ordered and gotten our food! While the layout of the cafe is super wonky, it works better in DC/Boston. We ordered a few items including some baked goods (pistachio and plain croissants, baguette), mezze breakfast platter, BLT, and avocado toast. Everything was absolutely delicious and fresh! Tatte Bakery & Cafe is a nice addition to the Garden City village area on Franklin Avenue. The crowds at the moment is most likely due to them recently opening and everyone checking them out. Considering we still went on a Saturday at peak lunch time the wait time on line was about 15 minutes where we started by the back area. Then service for our drinks and sandwiches was maybe another 7-10 minutes while they were super busy. A very modern and chill vibe with outdoor, indoor and bar seating. Bar seating areas behind the register/ bakery-dessert display and behind the barista coffee bar both have bag hooks to hang your bags. Indoor there are tables on the exterior walls wrapping to the back and outdoor seating on the side of the restaurant. For pickup orders there is a section in the back by the rear to grab to pick them up. They have an extensive menu of breakfast sandwiches, brunch items like egg plates and French toasts, lunch sandwiches, plates and salads. Have a sweet tooth? Then you can grab some pastries or sweet treats as well. I grabbed the pistachio croissant and the mixed berry fruit box. They were both pretty good the croissant had nice flakey layers but I wished the filling was either more of a paste or cream to give better contrast of texture. The mixed berry fruit box had a light airy cream inside a buttery shell and topped with a strawberry, blueberries and blackberries. For drink I got the seasonal tahini pumpkin oatmilk latte. It was very good, but I think the tahini and oatmilk flavors over took the pumpkin used. Otherwise still great. As for lunch I ordered the roasted cauliflower sandwich was amazing. It had great kick of heat from the spiced labneh and I liked the nuttiness of the pine nuts with the cauliflower. the pita bread was very fluffy. I would get it again for sure. My husband got the Turkey BLAT and the mint lemonade which he said was very delicious as well. Seating during busy hours like lunchtime and weekends is all timing. We ended up finding seats behind the coffee bar after 5 minutes waiting for a spot to open. Dining in they will bring the drinks and food to you by looking for your tag number given to you from the register when you order and pay. Service was very good by the staff. Parking is available on the street or in the lot in the back of the businesses. read more

I first encountered Tatte in DC and was pleasantly surprised that they opened in Garden City! I've been here twice so far and really enjoyed it. They are really crowded but they have a lot of indoor and outdoor seating in addition to bar seating. I didn't enjoy the pumpkin latte, but really enjoyed the cappuccino. I also tried the cherry almond scone, spinach leech quiche, and flatbread. The food was really good! The seasonal salmon was also sold out unfortunately but I've heard their salads are also really good. Though almost always busy, I also like the ambiance here. It feels like you are in a bustling city and it's nicely freshly renovated. Good addition to the neighborhood! French Workshop has some serious competition here. read more

We tried tatte for the first time and their foods were amazing! We went around 11am and there was a huge line inside, but it moved pretty quickly. We ordered their traditional Shakushuka, two pastries and their new tahini pumpkin oat milk latte. We had hard time finding seats, but after we got our seat, the foods came pretty quickly. It was my first time trying Shakushuka and it was delicious. The amount is large so I shared it with my friend and it was just enough. It comes with three breads and the bread was nicely baked as well :) We also tried their chocolate rose pastry and brought back their morning bun home. They were both delicious! I've had the pistachio latte and the black sesame latte both of which are creamy with a nice grind of pistachio and black sesame bits in each sip. It may not be for everyone but I enjoy it. As for breakfast, my wife and I have enjoyed their quick ham and cheese croissant as well as an avocado egg and tomato breakfast sandwich. Both are delicious. My wife particularly enjoys the almond croissant. Finally, we bought the honey carrot cake for a holiday party.
