First time exploring fire island over the weekend (Sunday). Wish I came here during the summer time because it was a bit chilly. A lot of places were closed, Rachel's was one of the few that remained opened. I was on my way to catch the ferry so I didn't have much time sit and eat. I quickly grabbed a s'more brownie to go. Cashier at the bakery side was very nice and welcoming. My brownie did not make it to the ferry. It was devoured on my walk! lol such a good treat. I see there is a notice it is closed until 2026. If this is true then I was one of the last lucky customers!

Great spot, next time I definitely want to try their food as opposed to just baked goods. Pignioli cookie I got was great but definitely not worth $5 for the size of it.

We go to Fire Island every summer for a long weekend, and Rachel's the place we all go for breakfast. They have the most amazing choices, and the service is awesome! There are 8 of us and sometimes we all go together or just a couple of us, and no matter how big or small our party is, the service is always excellent. They also have great cocktails and the best Bloody Mary's to get you started again on your day! The atmosphere is very cool looking and interesting too. The staff is so welcoming, and even though they don't rush you, they get you in and are ready for the next rush of people waiting outside. We love this place, and if you visit Fire Island, you will too! They always say, see you next year, and even if they really don't remember they treat you like they do! It's just awesome!

Do try the bran pancakes with fresh fruit mixed inside. They were fluffy and tender, and they are the most popular brunch menu item, according to my waitress Angela. I had them with blueberries inside and real maple syrup on top. Sunday Brunch was not complete without a Bloody Mary. Mine was thick and flavorful and had a moderate amount of heat. My orders came out within 10 minutes even though there were about 20 people in the restaurant. Angela provided stellar service, too. Be sure to dine here by Columbus Day, the last day of the season.

Went in for something sweet to go but couldn't land on anything so until next time. I'll be back.

Another overpriced tourist spot with poorly prepared food. My pasta was bland and underseasoned, but swimming in oil. There was at least a centimeter of oil at the bottom of the bowl, which made the rest of the pasta impossible to eat because of how much oil it collected :/

Excellent service! Great taste. Friendly. They had a wonderful vibe. I enjoyed the pleasant experience with my love at this restaurant and so... yeah... 5 stars! Give them a go!

We were looking for a great brunch spot in Fire Island and were pleasantly surprised with what Rachael has to offer. Hands-down the best bloody Mary's on the island. Our kids loved the oatmeal and the French toast (even if the French toast for the kids size was too small). We went on a holiday weekend and the wait wasn't too bad either. It would be great if they had more outdoor seating but The food was very good and worthwhile spot for breakfast or brunch. Will definitely be back.

Iced latte - the best in town! Open 8 am (maybe even 7:30 am) - 4 am!

Best place in Ocean Beach for coffee. We got an iced latte here every day. Says it opens at 8 am during the week, but if you stop by, they may even be open at 7:30 am or earlier. And they stay open til 4 am! Iced latte is amazing. They also serve breakfast, lunch, dinner, have a little bar, and even gelato. Might have to come back with the family for breakfast!

Rachel's was able to fit in our party of 11 the same day as we called for dinner so very appreciative of that. We arrived at 7 and were seated promptly. Service was very good and attentive. Our large party had a variety of orders but I got the salmon with capellini and my boyfriend got a house salad. We also got calamari to share which was pretty good, light and not weighed down or greasy. The salad could have been a little better and I think the thin pasta noodles was maybe a bad pairing for the salmon, would have preferred a linguini. Our whole group as a whole was happy with the food and service we got and we would come back for sure.

The minute we walked in, we felt transported to a Key West-inspired oasis. The vibe at Sandbar is everything you want in a beach bar ... veteran watering hole energy, live music playing, and a crowd that's having the best time. If you're into quirky décor, you'll love the hundreds of colorful flip flops hanging from the ceiling, each one signed by past patrons. It's fun to look up and read what previous visitors have written. There are even surfboards and nautical treasures everywhere, making the spot truly one-of-a-kind. We came especially for the famous Rocket Fuel ... if you've never had one, you're missing out! Rocket Fuel is a frozen, creamy concoction featuring pina colada mix, amaretto, and rum (usually topped with a float of 151). It's the quintessential Ocean Beach drink: frosty, sweet, a little indulgent, and just strong enough to get you in island mode without derailing your afternoon! We grabbed our Rocket Fuels, settled in, and enjoyed the vibes. The live music was awesome and kept the energy up with beachy classics and crowd favorites. Even in the afternoon, Sandbar was buzzing but never felt overcrowded or hectic. From friendly bartenders and great drinks, I look forward to returning here for a fun evening with my friends.

Better late than never with this backdated review--life has just been lifing!…read moreI finally made it to Artemis on July 22nd after fiending to go since January. There's actually a hilarious story behind why I went. I was originally supposed to have a date that night, but let's be real: you'd think a 61-year-old man would know better than to take a 47-year-old woman to Dave & Buster's. I canceled the night before, dolled myself up the day of, and decided to take myself out instead. Best decision ever. The joint is dimly lit. But your eyes wind up adjusting. It's got a great vibe. Definitely excellent for a date night. The bartenders here are absolute rockstars. I started with a Painkiller. Even though it's no longer on the menu, they whipped it up for me anyway--and hey, it definitely relieved my pain, lol! Next, I tried a Corpse Reviver just because it had absinthe in it. It was different, but I really enjoyed it. Naturally, I had to finish with my signature drink, a Cosmopolitan, because I am the Black Carrie Bradshaw of Long Island. And it did not disappoint. The eats: I got the charcuterie board--fancy and bougie, just like me--and wrapped up the night with the brownie à la mode for dessert. Drowning my troubles in sweets is a must when the Long Island dating pool is an absolute wasteland, lmao. Did I want to spend my night around teenagers, kids, and skee-ball? HELL NO! I wanted a grown-and-sexy speakeasy vibe, and Artemis delivered. 5/5 stars--would 100% recommend!

My only complaint is the seating- it's a little packed, I felt like I was sitting on top of the people next to me yet far away from my date with a coffee table between us. First off, the inside is beautiful. They did an incredible job with the renovation, and I loved all the little details, especially the custom 300-pound manhole covers they're using as tables around the bar. Even better, everyone working there was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Now the food! We started with the Baked Clams, and these were legit. You could've served them to me at an Italian restaurant and I wouldn't have questioned it. The Nonna's Ribs were probably one of the biggest surprises--slow-braised pork ribs with cherry peppers and finished on the grill. Fall-off-the-bone tender, tons of flavor, and I loved that they weren't just drenched in BBQ sauce. The Firebird crispy chicken sandwich was fantastic, and the Steakhouse Sandwich with sliced NY strip, mushrooms, provolone, crispy onions and horseradish aioli was also very well done. But that Manhole Burger deserves some special attention. Beef, American cheese, caramelized onions and dijonnaise on brioche. Simple combination, executed REALLY well. This was an outstanding burger and absolutely something I'd order again. And I can't leave out the fries. They're hand-cut in house, super thin and crispy, and exactly how I like my fries. Think that addictive thin fast-food style, except made fresh and much better quality. If you remember this location from its previous ownership, give it another shot. This is a completely different experience. Beautiful restaurant, genuinely friendly staff and food that exceeded my expectations. Foundry Tavern is a Hicksville hidden gem that deserves more attention--especially for lunch. I'll definitely be back.

Heard the guy next to us order a French dip and the waiter said great, we have only 2 left. So when he came to us I ordered and he said great timing it's the last one. Took 45 minutes to get our strawberry salad which was delicious. Another 3o minutes go by (and the guy next to me who ordered the other French dip had already finished and left) So the strawberry waiter, after more than 1.15hr walk over and says "hey, we ran out of the French so I ordered you the steak sandwich. Huh? 1 hour and fifteen min later you ran out and the other guy already ate and left? I said great, but I'm not paying for it. 10 min later the owner came out. He could not have been a friendlier, responsible and all around nice person. It wasn't that he not only covered my meal but the table but it was the way he handled it. Owning a restaurant is not easy and problems happen. Food - 8/10 Prices 9/10 Place 8/10 I would not only recommend this place but they have absolutely earned my business. I obviously can't give a 5 because of the incident but I will change this to a 5 when I go back and get the service I have a feeling I'll receive. This owner deserves the business because he knows how to run a business. Money follows the people not the other way around.
