My husband is in Wilmington, NC for work and was in there tonight and he felt like there was some racism happening towards him. He was a minority in the resturant and had a very unsettling experience. It is unfortunate that people are treated so poorly in this resturant. He ordered his food from the owner and she put the food in as dinein and they brought the food out in a to go bag and made him feel like he didnt belong and he needed to leave. When the Philly Eggrolls were given to him, they said "the eggrolls have never been made like this, enjoy them" and walked away. This is AWFUL and I would not recommend this resturant to anyone and people should be ashamed of themselves. We are going to contact a North Carolina Cilvil rights attorney and the North Carolinas Human Relations Commission and the DOJ. We dont want anything from them except for the racism to stop. The guy that interacted with my husband should lose his job. read more

Delicious! The food was made fresh to order, and delivered steaming. I had the shrimp po-boy. My husband had the boneless buffalo wings. Both were really good, but the jewel in their crown was definitely the oxtail egg rolls. They were mouthwateringly flavorful and crispy. Don't get over eager. Let them sit for a moment. The roof of your mouth will thank you. We were there at lunch on a Thursday. It was definitely the place to be. They were busy! Service was excellent though. Even with a crowded line at the counter and to go orders being picked up constantly, the staff still made time to circulate through to check on the customers. Me and my plus one ordered 10 wings each, I got the Hot Peach- which was the Thyme flavor I guess they rotate the flavor- and she got the Hot Lemon. On Thyme was right on time! My friend found this spot on Tiktok and told me about it when I shared with her that I would be in Wilmington for a few days. This spot is a must and have to try! Everything on the menu sounds amazing so it was really hard for this foodie to narrow down my choices. I chose the Philly cheesesteak egg rolls for an appetizer. Those were some of the best I've ever had. Be warned... the portion is HUGE! I ate half because I wanted to save room for what I had my eyes set on after reviewing the menu multiple times: the shrimp burger. I don't have the vocabulary words to describe the shrimp burger. Amazing, delicious and tasty fall way too short. This isn't your regular shrimp burger with minced shrimp packed together with filling. No. This is a "burger" made of the most flavorful and perfectly fried jumbo shrimp. I don't know how they packed 10-12 shrimp in that brioche bun but they did. And the bun was buttered as if I needed another calorie. Fries come with it. They were also cooked well but I could only hold maybe 5 or 6. Get something with thyme sauce. I can't even describe what it is or how good it is. It's a small, tight spot and my guess is that there's always a line so be prepared. But it's worth the wait. The menu and staff are pretty solid all around, but they DESPERATELY need to change their fryer oil more frequently. Something needs to happen because the food is starting to suffer and as a seasoned restaurant worker (with plenty of experience working a fryer) the quality of food varies significantly each time I order, and I can tell its the fryer. They either need to stop stretching the life of the oil, or they need to clean the equipment better. Its unfortunate for a place I've come to love. read more

The customer service was great and everyone there was very friendly. It wasn't busy for a Friday afternoon. There was only one person placing an order in front of us. We placed our order to go but ended up staying to eat outside to enjoy the vibes. Hubby ordered the Philly Egg Rolls and fries. I ordered the Shrimp Po Boy with fries. We also go a pineapple lemonade and a strawberry lemonade. Both drinks were a 5/5! The Egg Roll Wrappers were layered too thick which left many parts undercooked and chewy with a really crunchy outer layer. The contents were tasty so he ended up just eating the filling. He said it's 3/5. The Shrimp Po Boy was just okay to me I think it could've used more flavor. I'd give it a strong 3.5/5. Our food was ready rather quickly. I've been in Wilmington 20yrs and have eat at just about every seafood place between Myrtle Beach and Morehead City. High end, local, mom & pop, food trucks, you name it. If they served shrimp, fish and wings I've tried it. I've finally found a place that has got it right. We went this evening, my wife ordered the fried Cajun Shrimp PO Boy with fried Okra and I had the OMG Fish Sandwich with fried Okra. It was by far the best fish sandwich in Wilmington. This is a real sandwich. Two huge, perfectly seasoned and cooked filets, the bun is amazing, along with the slaw, pickles and sauce. The fried okra is just like mom use to make, perfectly seasoned cooked just right and its a huge portion. The Shrimp on my wife's PO Boy were seasoned and cooked perfect, everything from the bread to the sauce was spot on. We also had a basket of fries that were really good, but with all of the other food they went unfinished. We'll definitely be hitting On Thyme at least once a week. We ordered at the counter and we're able to snag a booth as someone was getting up. While we were checking out, the employee let us know food was about a 45 minute wait and confirmed we were okay with that - I appreciated the heads up. The food was fantastic. We ordered between us 2 different orders of boneless wings, 2 orders of fries, and a garden salad. We could definitely have split the fries as a side - the portions were huge. The salad was pretty big as well. The wing sauces (drunk bbq and Korean bbq) were both so good. The fries were super fresh and well-seasoned. Only minor complaint is that they were out of a bunch of drinks (including water). However this gave me the chance to try Queen Esther's iced tea (I'd only had her hot teas before this!). What a great surprise! The work crew and I unexpectedly stopped at On Thyme for lunch this afternoon, based on their posting of a Bacon Chicken Quesadilla special. The food was great and the staff were outstanding. Two people got the quesadilla, I got the Shrimp Burger, and another got the Bacon Cheeseburger (no pic). Everything got two thumbs up, including the fries. Very pleased and aiming to go back for their fried okra since I saw it at another table. I am not quite sure what they put in the On Thyme sauce but I understand why they put it on everything because it is delicious. I had the grilled shrimp poboy and some loaded fries enjoyed every bite. The shrimp were cooked and seasoned well, the roll was buttered and toasted and the on thyme sauce tied it all together.
