Okay, here it is, the real deal about Oncall Dental in Tempe, Off Mill and Southern. I had a cracked took, and had been self-medicating for several weeks because, yes, I'll admit it, dental appointments are just not an experience, you can get used too. Hate is a strong word, so I'll refrain from using that word. I was referred to Oncall Dental by a coworker that had recently experienced somewhat of the same situation, cracked tooth, male procrastination because of fear of pain, noise and needles in the mouth. At approximately 11:15 on 3/5/2020, I felt the cracked part of my back tooth further separate from its base. Because earlier in the week, I had been referred to Oncall, was just to chicken to go, I immediately called spoke with Jessica (genuinely nice and sincere), she explained that they did not have any appointments slots open for the day but, I could walk in and be seen. I arrived at the office, did the usual and customary paperwork and exchanging of insurance information, and then had a seat in the waiting area. Comfy seats. Within 20 minutes I was called back, took some xrays, directed to the dental chair, and asked a few more questions and a few more xrays. Within 5-10 minutes, Dr. Michael Greding greeted me, asked some get to know me questions, and more questions about the tooth. He provided some what if, and expectations and depending upon what was found, we have options, emphasizing he needed to get in there and see what going on. (This is where the anxiety showed it's ugly head) I immediately let him know me and those shots/needles typically are not on good terms. Dr. G assured me all would be okay. Prepped my mouth for the needle. (Dr. G. went and attended to some other walk ins). Jessica came in and went over the pricing options based on what was found. Loved this, everything right in front of you. I sat there after Jessica left the room, thinking, this is a pretty cool operation. Within minutes, Dr. G and assistant were there to begin the process. (Eyes closed, drilling, poking, prodding, pulling) Boom, okay, Dr G. explains, this is what I've found, provided multiple options, taking into account, life factors. Okay, lets go for it. Jessica back in the room, explaining these are the costs associated with what was found, and asked, what would you like to do. Boom, I tell her, lets go for it all, CROWN me but, first the dreaded root canal. (UGH) Several minutes later, (root canal) Dr. G stands up and says, we're done, ready to form your crown. I was floored. Wait, what...the root canal, you're really done? Nope, no pain, no discomfort (Win for Dr. G in my book), maybe 30 minutes later, I was CROWNED, and walking out of the office feeling like I had just beat the devil. I was in there about 3 hours. Not one complaint that in the world. After all, I walked in, had no appointment but, they certainly did. I was so well taken care of by that staff, all I'd done that night and today, 3/6/2020, was tell everyone I knew about Oncall Dental. I'll be making the switch to them for regular dental services. If your dentist doesn't have the equipment to make crowns on the spot, what other technology are you not getting in 2020 from them? I fear no more! I went in there on 5-3-22 due to my face and gums rapidly swelling. If you are a walk in, there is a bit of a wait time (appointments scheduled in advanced take priority), but the lobby is clean, the lady at the front desk is nice. Once I got called back, it was immediately to x-rays, then to a room where some extra pictures were taken for the doctor. I waited less than 20 minutes for the doctor to come in an immediately begin explaining what he was doing, how he was going to do it, while providing me as much information as possible so I understood what was happening. I unfortunately had to get two teeth pulled due to a severe infection that was causing the swelling, and was absolutely terrified (the shaking and sobbing kind of terrified). The doctor and the assistant (sorry if that term is incorrect) talked to me the entire time, told me to focus on their voices, the assistance even held my hand for a moment when I was on the verge of a panic attack. It was scary, but they made the experience better and didn't make me feel awful for it. It was all done relatively quick and they even let me take home the culprit teeth (after they cleaned and sealed them in a package). I was given a few different meds and the doctor explained how each one should be taken before he made his exit, and the assistant explained how to monitor my health over the new few days and the do's/donts of after surgery. Thank you so much for everything you did for me. I am (obviously) terrified of the dentist, but this experience has made me more comfortable than any other dental experience I've had in my life. Thanks again to the doctor and assistant. I don't know how I would have handled this experience if it weren't for their kindness. The swelling has gone down considerably as of this morning, and I didn't even have to take the Ibuprofen as I'm not in any pain! read more

I haven't been to the dentist in quite some time and had an emergency situation arise on a Sunday. I wasn't sure what to expect as I've had horrible experience's in the past and that's what has kept me away. Upon entering I was greeted by the front office and everyone was extremely friendly and answered all of my questions without any hesitation. I was very impressed with their willingness to help and patience with my situation. After the X-ray's I was placed in a room and greeted by Dr. Badall. We discussed my options and made a plan of attack. He explained everything and walked me through what he was going to be doing with great patience as I was very nervous. He definitely wanted to make sure I was comfortable and you could tell he definitely cared about my needs as a patient and you don't see that very often anymore, your usually in and out and told how and what by the doctor. This place was definitely different in a very positive and uplifting way. I will definitely be going back and getting all of my work done there as they do everything you could need at a dental office to do. If I could give 10 stars I would. I'm in love with this dental facility. I'm a high anxiety, nervous person. I'm also 28 week pregnant and had a horrible infected, swollen, burried wisdom tooth. It had gone sideways in the gum and was starting to make it impossible to eat, sleep and even bend down to pick things up. I was miserable and reached out to them as a last hope. Dr Michael was magnificent. I couldn't begin to explain how excellent his service was, and how thorough he was in his explanation and procedure. Being that I had to have local anesthesia, I had a bit of anxiety. He had complete confidence in his work and talked me through every step as he did the removal of the tooth. It made me feel so comforted and was very easy to sit through. Best part he was in and done in 30 minutes and didn't have to remove a second tooth that was a concerned issue of being in the way. He skillfully manoeuvered around the second tooth and pulled the wisdom tooth out effortlessly. I will definitely be using them as a primary and won't ever look at another dentistry again. They gained my trust and I would strongly 100% recommend them for anyone. Kids included. This was by far the best experience I've ever had. read more

I am so grateful to have found this place. I had been dealing with an on and off toothache that had become very severe. We had been out of town and came back early because of the pain. They got me in very quickly, and because of the amount of pain I was in, the doctor numbed me up before she tried to talk to me at all. Once I was feeling better, she let me know that the tooth needed to be extracted. She did say that it was possible to salvage the tooth, but the prognosis was poor so she thought it was best to get it out. I really appreciated her honesty. I would hate to deal with this kind of pain again. Because I have a terrible fear of dental work, I opted to go somewhere that could extract under sedation, and they did not try to upsell me or pressure me into anything. They sent me on my way with prescriptions for antibiotics and painkillers, and referrals to two other dentists who could offer me iv sedation. This office was more than 20 miles away from my home, but I would come here again in a heartbeat! read more

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Greding and the entire team! I chipped a tooth and they were able to get me in the very same day, which was such a relief. From the moment I walked in, everyone was warm, welcoming, and made me feel completely at ease. I've had some really bad experiences with dentists in the past, so dental visits usually come with a lot of anxiety for me. This was the first time I felt comfortable from start to finish. Dr. Greding was incredibly kind, thorough, and took the time to explain everything without making me feel rushed. The entire staff genuinely cares about their patients and goes above and beyond to make the experience a positive one. I'm a heart patient and recently had a dental emergency on a Saturday. Fearing the worst I searched the internet for a dentist that would see me ASAP. I found ON CALL DENTAL URGENT CARE in Tempe, AZ (602-334-4928). Like most Dr offices they advertise a "patient friendly" environment. I'll I can do is relate my experience, which was refreshingly pleasant. They accepted walk-ins and I saw the dentist as soon as I finished completing the new patient paperwork. The administrative person was awesome on the phone and better in person. The Dental hygienist was very personable and helped alleviate my anxiety about having a bad tooth. My experience with the dentist, Dr. Leedy, is best summed up by saying that I've decided to make ON Call Dental in Tempe my regular dentist! read more

I am no stranger to dental work. Braces twice (3 years each) 8 teeth removed (4 incisors, 4 wisdom teeth). I've never had a cavity at age 31. I had tooth pain that a dentist in Fl easily dismisses saying it could be a fractured tooth up inside the gums. Dr. Smith at the tempe location was amazing. He took the time to do a thorough exam (even though I had one a week ago in Fl) his bedside manner was suburb. I'm a paramedic, I know about good bedside manner. He's just an amazing, thorough and friendly dentist. I went for tooth pain but will be going back for all my dental needs to see Dr. Smith. One of the best dentists that I've been to. I honestly have a huge fear of the dentist as I've had so many that are just drill happy, which caused a lot of the problems I experience now. I went to OnCall Dental because I know people that have gone there before and absolutely rave about them and I can completely see why. My first appointment there, I was crying like a baby out of fear of being judged or ridiculed (as I have been in the past) and I really have to say that Dr. Gredding made me feel at ease. I have super high hopes that I've finally found a dentist that's going to treat me like an adult and help me take care of the problems caused by previous horrific attempts. I don't live in the area anymore, but I come back to Dr. Greding's office because I've taken my kids there in the past and for them and myself it's always been a great experience. We love Dr Greding and his staff. They are kind, patient, informative, welcoming, and very professional. Dr. Greding is passionate about his dental work and you can feel that in the office. The staff is happy and so friendly. Truly a great atmosphere! Yes, even at a dental office! I was in horrible pain from my wisdom teeth needing to be removed. Every other dentist office I went to pretty much told me I had to have surgery to get them removed. However, the wait time for the surgery was so far out. I ended up finding Oncall Dental from google and I'm so pleased I did. Not only were they able to see me as a walk in, they were also able to pull the tooth, and get it all done in a very reasonable time and for a reasonable price. The next day the dentist who pulled my tooth even personally called to check and see how I was feeling. Best customer service I've experienced since moving to Phoenix! I love this place. The staff members are all incredibly friendly! They are welcoming, caring, and kind. I'm a bit of a worrier and ask a lot of questions - they were nothing but responsive and sweet! I had a wisdom tooth removed. The process was fast and the technician and doctor assured me every step of the way. Even after the procedure, they were happy to answer any questions I had over the phone. I paid in cash so I can't speak to anything about insurance, but they were very clear with their pricing and payment process. They are super flexible with their hours - scheduling is a breeze. I can't recommend this place enough!! I have really bad anxiety, that's why I'm not too fond of the dentist, but when I went the assistant was so nice she actually helped me from having a panic attack by talking to me and making me laugh! She was so nice and helpful I will definitely recommend she get a raise!! Now when I was having the root canal worked on the dentist was super cool and letting me know that I was doing ok and kept me thinking positive. He was super cool and knew what he was doing!!
