As a first-time parent dealing with lice, I was relying on the clinic for guidance and education. Unfortunately, the language barrier made it difficult to fully understand the aftercare instructions and ask questions, which added to an already overwhelming experience. My biggest disappointment was the value for the price. The treatment cost $500, and after leaving a $115 tip, I was surprised that I still had to purchase the metal nit comb and treatment oil separately. At that price point, I believe those basic aftercare items should be included. The following evening, I had Organic Lice Gurus come to my home. For about one-third of the price, they checked and treated me, checked my son, rechecked my daughter, removing four additional nits, and included the treatment oil as part of the service. I hadn't had lice since I was 13yrs old and knew how serious it was that I nip it in the bud now! Mary educated me with so much more info than I thought I knew, since I had lice my entire childhood. Her advice explains why the at home kit I got from Target did not work. Lice is immune to the Rid and Nix shampoo treatments. It will not kill them! I 1000 did everything Mary told me to do at home after my 1st treatment. Traumatized I am, I was willing to do whatever it took to make sure I covered all my corners at home, in my car, and on me personally. My husband even came in to get checked. Thankfully he did not have it. My 1st treatment went well as I was not infested thank goodness, and Mary highly recommended a 2nd treatment and some take home products to keep lice away. Boy was she right about this second treatment 4 days later. The microscopic eggs she could not see/ take out from 1st treatment were indeed there and bigger when I went in for the 2nd treatment.
