The customer service today was HORRIBLE. I went in at 10:30 to sell 1 tote. Asked if they thought it was possible for it to be done in time to pick my daughter up at 1. They said yes. Even according to the app my buy should be done by 12pm. I hadn't received a text so after pickup I stopped by. This was now 2pm. They said they needed another 45min to 1hr. I left and within 15 minutes they texted me for pickup. 1 tote. And a whole lot of lies. From the start if they would have been honest and said no, I would have happily come back on a day when I had more time. Our little future human is going to be raised in garage sakes, hand me downs and probably a splash of this Once Upon a Child location. Oh, and Goodwill. I'm all about the gently used/second hand clothing scene (a majority if my own clothes are from Goodwill) so I was excited to check out Once Upon a Child and see what there whole set up was. The staff and fellow shoppers were all very friendly and we were impressed by the prices and variety of ongoing sales that were offered. After signing up for the newborn club, we've already received a postcard and texts with additional deals in the same week. Tip: if you sign up for the newborn club, you'll receive a coupon to return and claim "10 free onesies/bodysuits". We still need to return to claim but we're able to pick up a diaper disposal for $8 while we there (typically around $40+ new). Mixed experience for me. Was my first time going to this location, as well as my first time selling items to the store. The staff was patient and helpful as I brought in two medium totes and a box of boys clothing to sell. They have a text system to let you know when your stuff has been processed, so that is very nice. It was a busy day (Saturday), so in hindsight I probably could have gone to another store while waiting. But instead I browsed. I was pleasantly surprised at the selection of clothes available. Everything looked clean and was well organized. Easy to find sizes I needed! A little expensive if you are used to garage sale prices, but better than brand new. Was cool to see a reasonable return policy. I don't think many other second-hand businesses have ANY sort of return option, so it was nice to see this rare exception! I ended up waiting 3.5 hours for my clothes to be processed! But like I said, it was a busy day and the girls were going as quickly as they could. Next time I will know better than to wait in-store. :-) I must admit, when I realized how few items they chose to buy, I felt VERY discouraged. I had spent the previous week going through outgrown clothes, washing and sorting and folding them carefully in preparation to sell. I was very watchful for stains and tried not to bring anything that looked worn out. As I mentioned, I had two totes and a box; easily 175-200 items. The store chose to buy about twenty items, at a price of $27.70! For the amount bought, I think the price offered was great. But for the total effort and time involved, I don't think it will be worth it to try and sell to Once Upon a Child again. I probably will be coming back to purchase specific items I can't find at yard sales, because they really do have a great selection. But am not likely to ever sell things to them again; it's just not worth it. read more

I was absolutely horrified by how I was treated at this business today. I tried to ignore the messy and somewhat unclean appearance of the store, but it was surprising to me as someone who had never been in a business like this. But the service and staff were the worse by far I have experienced in a retail environment in years. They were rude, dismissive and offered me $8 for two long sleeve/pant onesies, two sweaters, two books with matching stuffed animals and two sets of flashcards, all brand new. I said that that was not a fair offer and would keep my things. I then realized as they didn't even acknowledge me when I was trying to get them out of the bucket and get my other bag of items they didn't buy back, which I had to walk behind the counter myself for because they had turned their backs to me, that they removed my brand new items from the packaging and threw it away, so I cannot sell many of the items that only had tags in the form of wrapped packaging as new anymore. I asked about it and they shrugged it off and turned their backs on me again. I would be embarrassed if I was the owner, it was incredibly disrespectful and I encourage anyone who reads this to go anywhere else as you deserve much better treatment than I received today. read more

This store is seriously gross. Everything seems grimy and unclean. Even if I was hard up, I would never put my baby in used clothes from there (especially after seeing the kind of people who shop there-- mostly single mothers of multiple children and who don't keep an eye on their kids in the store, don't seem to practice the best hygiene etc.). The reason I came is to see what it would be like to sell some used clothes to them. I arrived around noon on a weekday and was told there were several people ahead of me so I could leave and come back later once they texted me the offer was ready. I was also told if I didn't return by 4 pm, they would donate all the clothes. I figured I'd go run some errands in the area and come back, by which point they'd surely be done evaluating the clothes. I went to Target, then went and got some lunch. Still no text. 2 pm rolled around, and I checked the status of my offer and it showed the clothes hadn't even been sorted and evaluated. I went back and got the clothes, not wanting to risk them being tossed out if I didn't have time to get back before 4 pm, and not wanting to kill more time in the area when I had no clue how much longer it would be. Also, the other shoppers are rude and oblivious. One woman had four or five kids with her, and they were playing on the floor in front of the check in area. She was on her phone chatting with a friend and couldn't bother to tell them to move aside for customers while she had her super important *eye roll* conversation. Finally, an employee kinda sorta got them to move aside. Going in or out of the store with a stroller, nobody will think to open or hold a door for you, even if they're already going in or out or standing right by the door. Instead, they will stand there and watch you struggle to open and get through the door with your stroller while you're all the while carrying a big shopping bag with clothes and a portable bassinet in the other hand. So, yeah, gross store, and even grosser people. I'll donate to Goodwill or Salvation Army or a women's shelter before I'll ever come back to this awful store. read more

I've had no issues buying items however I'm done trying to sell with them. I dropped off items around 6p. They close at 8p. No big deal came in next day 10a got my money for my items. I was told my other items were THROWN AWAY including my reusable bags I brought them in. EXCUSE ME??? You mean to tell me you guys are just trashing items instead of even using the donate boxes located in YOUR PARKING LOT!??? I thought the whole idea of this business was to reuse items to keep them from going into a landfill. This store obviously doesn't care about anything but getting rid of thing no matter what the process. Less than 24 hours and they tossed my personal bags and items I may have been able to donate in the trash. Rude and disrespectful to me and our planet. read more

I always bring my kids' outgrown clothes there before donating them to Goodwill. Unfortunately, the extremely unfriendly staff and ridiculously low value they give me for my kids branded clothes is making me consider going straight to Goodwill next time. I am really disappointed with this store. I brought two bags full of clothes and they took out only few and rest are " out of style" and some stain. I get it about stain part but "out of style" and I see a lot of out of style in this store. Why can't you take in? And they not even mind open with those "out of style ". The reason I put 5 stars is because this store is a life saver for my family!! I can buy 10 times the amount of clothes here for the same price as new. With 3 young children growing out of clothes every season, it's so great to have a place to get every type of clothes you can think of for ages 0-12 at extremely affordable prices. Also, SHOES! I can find name brand shoes, in good shape, for amazing prices. Also, I've never had a bad experience here. The staff are always quick to check me out and helpful if I need it. AND you can sell used children's clothes here.. which beats goodwill any day! Only negative there is if you're selling on a weekend sometimes the wait time is long. But you just give you phone number and they text when done. I just shop while I wait. Anyways- highly recommend. read more
