So.. I read these reviews initially and went to Shakopee to sell brand new name brand shoes. They didn't offer me much so I declined. I hesitantly went to the Burnsville location because I just really wanted to get rid of these shoes and they offered me 40 over the what Shakopee had. This location is an amazing establishment. Staff were unbelievably nice and professional, they all deserve raises. You can find great finds, they have a lot of product throughout the location. This location isn't huge but they utilize the space really well. You can also find big items, strollers, walkers, at a great price. The place is well kept and clean, very bright. This place is located off of a busy road, you can't miss it, very visible. Idk how old this location is, but it looks renovated or newly placed, wonderful place overall. No stars. Absolutely NONE. I call every time before I come because they always wanna weirdly choose not to buy. My basket wasn't even touched nothing in my basket moved from its originally spot. And they told me they didn't buy anything because I need to wash it.... IT ALL JUST CAME OUT OF THE WASH. I have no many issues with this location. Going out my way every time. Worst customer service EVER. While the clothes in the store is OLD and STINKS. Came back in a second time with 3 items and they gave me the lowest possible price AFTER telling me they wouldn't take a BRAND NEW board game bc it wasn't new???? WHAT. Then when I told her it was brand new never been opened, she goes over to check and sees the box is sealed shut, then gave me $1 for it. This place is ridiculous. 1000 times nope. Just went here, and concluded I would rather bring all my kid's used clothing to Savers for the friendly customer service and coupon, than deal with the people working at this dump. The whole store feels a lot like my house with an infant and toddler -- cluttered and sticky. A lot of the clothes were out of order, ugly, and in poor condition. The women working were just as impressive. Lacked professionalism, and one was obviously on something. My advice for the owner: clean up your store, clean up your employees, and stop taking worn out/stained/torn clothing. Your store's sign could use an update too, it looks like it's from the 90s. Also the music blaring in your store was so bad. So so bad. Maybe go for silence. I read more

Honestly had a great experience. First time here shopping and the customer service was very friendly I was immediately greeted and asked if I was looking for anything specific. I found a baby carrier and couldn't locate the size the employee gladly helped me look for it. The prices are 75% below the retail cost and they have sales posted on their fb page occasionally. First and far most - It's a second hand store so don't expect a 5 star experience. I tend to forget about this store, but when I don't I am never disappointed. As a first time mom, I appreciate this store for the "deals", not always their condition. Tonight when I stopped in they were having a sale where the majority of my clothing items were $1.00! Some of my top buys so far: - Baby Bjorne - Stand up toy - a third of the price vs new - Holiday and Seasonal clothes - Last minute- swim trunks - One time wear- tuxedo - additional toys for grandparents house I wash and wipe down everything I buy before using but often times you can find "new with tag items". The store itself could use some updates and a deep cleaning , but again , it's a second hand store. I have not sold items here. I prefer online sites where I have control over pricing and get the biggest bang for my buck. read more

This place is absolutely horrible. Worst location ever! Every time I come here they aren't buying or they just "stopped" for the day. I have been trying to sell the same basket of items for WEEKS. every single time it's the same thing, it's absolutely ridiculous. I have came out of my way multiple times, wasted my gas like it isn't expensive as hell now a days. This is absolutely ridiculous!!! Terrible customer service. Staff not wearing masks. Just seem not to care. In times like this especially where children and the elderly are involved masks are potentially life saving. Sad the attitude is so cavalier. Many of us have family members in the high risk age group. read more

This store is under new ownership and I am so impressed every time I shop. It's extremely organized, there are no toys on the ground (which is common for other OUAC stores). The staff is very friendly and looks genuinely happy to be there. read more

The absolute worst experience with children's clothing. Over a two hour wait to have my clothing checked over, and when I came back nothing was done. They half heartedly looked over my things declaring them the wrong season and wrong brands. Three giant rubber maid tubs full of Carters and Baby Gap. Horrible service, rude staff, and an unwillingness to help. Apparently out of season clothing includes sleepers and footed Jammie's, Lord knows what kids wear in the fall. I've been going here for 7-8 years to sell items. The nice thing about the store is that it's clean and not overcrowded with clothes. However, there is little to desire besides that. There is a woman who has worked there for many years (possibly the owner or manager) and whenever she is there, I cringe. She is very rude, doesn't look you in the eyes when speaking with you and overall is in a grouchy mood. The only reason I go there is because there is nowhere else to sell kids clothes nearby unless I post online. I never purchase items at Once Upon a Child, I only sell. Every time I go there is no process or procedures as to what to do, everyone seems too busy to actual help customers and even the employees seem confused. I gave it two stars instead of 1 because it's clean and they always buy clothes from me. read more

UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP & 100x better than what they were. Holy moly. I walked in and was instantly welcomed and felt like I was valued and not like I was an inconvenience. I dropped some items off and it was done so efficiently and felt very professional. They were done looking through my things so quickly, too! I appreciate that the racks are so jam-packed. They have so much stuff that I always find suitable clothes in my daughter's size. The other side of that coin is that the store does feel full and crowded. On a busy day it can easily feel too crowded. Nonetheless, for the last five years I've been heading to this location once a season. I usually spend about $40 and end up with enough clothing for the entire winter or summer. I've never sold clothing here, so can't say what that's like, but from a shopper's perspective this place is the best option I've come across locally. read more

Absolutely horrible customer service. I drove 45 minutes to sell 3 large bins of nice clothes and toys. Arrived at 2:30 on a Sunday afternoon, hours before the store closed, and was turned away because the employee said she didnt have time for any more buys for the day. I returned the next Thursday morning at 9:20 (store hours say they open at 9:30). 5 other people were also waiting for the doors to open. At 9:40 and no sign of anyone inside, I finally left as I had another appointment to make. I called at 12:15 and asked what the buy time wait was. The employee informed me there was no one in front of me. I arrived at 12:30 and dropped off my items. There was still no one in front of me for buying/selling. The employee told me it would be a couple hours. I confirmed..."so you will be done in 2 hours?" She said, "Yes, that should be fine." I called at 2:30 and was told they hadnt started looking at my items yet and they were unsure when they would get to them. I called at 5:30 and received the same answer that it wasnt done yet. I pushed the employee and asked for a manager and was told she wasnt in. Then suddenly the employee said my items were done. I asked him the offer price and he refused to disclose it over the phone. At this point I had driven 45 minutes back home and wanted to know if it was worth my time to return for the money. Eventually, another employee got on the phone and told me that they passed on all my items because they "go on style and condition and items must be new within the past 1 year." Many of my items - both clothes and toys- were in excellent and like new condition and definitely not older than a year. When I asked when a manger would be in, no one seemed to know...the story changed from sometime next week, to possibly Monday, or maybe even this weekend. I will never shop or sell at this location again. There are many other locations that pay fairly, accept what they say they will, look through your items thoroughly, open on time, follow their policies for last buy of the day time, and treat their customers with respect. read more

What a fricken joke. I hauled in 3 large bags FULL of name brand girls clothing along with a baby bathtub full of baby towels, receiving blankets and other misc toys. The clothing was all in great shape as I had just gone through it. I came back to the store to pick up my items and was told they would only take 2 items for $1.15. I was so mad. This is the WORST children's resale establishment I have ever been to! And I've sold items in multiple states. PLEASE, BOYCOTT this business with me. I shall not set foot in this store until the owner fires the current manager. She is a dishonest and rude person. She gives you the lowest price available for the used goods you attempt to sell, regardless of its ACTUAL CONDITION. She turns away bags of clothing without even bothering to go through them, telling the customers that the items are not good enough, out of simple laziness. I felt highly disrespected and discriminated against. One time, another employee actually had to go back into the computer system and reprocess my clothing and toys because the manager was giving me HALF the amount the items were worth! I'm so glad she noticed this and fixed it for me, bless her bare footed soul! Unfortunately, they either fired this Angel Employee or she quit, because she no longer works here. So, now I must drive all the way to The Shakopee location in order to buy supplies for my family. I love Once Upon A Child, but used to avoid this location. They hardly had anything on the shelves and it smelled! I'd drive further to the Eden Prairie or Shakopee locations. BUT! I was in the area yesterday and stopped in. Much better! No smell, and the selection was great! It was very organized and clean, and the staff were very friendly. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME BRINGING YOUR CLOTHES HERE!!! I brought in several boxes for name-brand children's clothes today and they bought NOTHING. Even though they had the boxes for at least 7 hours, I am pretty sure that they did not even look in one of the boxes because things were folded the same way as when I dropped it off. The customer service is unacceptable. They are RUDE, RUDE, RUDE. Do yourself a favor and do not bring your clothes to this location. Donate to a church or friend, you will feel much better about your experience. I would have given this place ZERO STARS, but the computer made me give them one. read more

Was in today with 2 bags of clothes to sell. The customer service was horrible. I would recommend covering up your breast tattoos and cleavage too- not very professional in a children's store. I felt like an obligation- rather than a customer. They definitely didn't even go through my bags of clothing-- all name brand- and they took nothing. I took in items from Nordstrom that were worn once (Christmas dresses), Size 14 Nordstrom brand jeans that were hardly worn and other name brand tops. The gal took just a few lower brand items. I am a frequent once upon a Child shopper, I always sell my children's clothing and toys to various locations and do a lot of shopping at several locations. I had been to the Burnsville location once before and had a terrible experience. It was such an incredibly long wait for them to go through my containers that I decided not to wait and they were encouraging me to take my things and come back a different time. Today I tried that location again and I was instantly reminded of why I was unhappy with my first visit. It was very unorganized and with every customer walking in the employee seem to get more and more annoyed. They kept quoting people 2 to 3 hours for their items when I have seen other locations working very hard to get through them faster and would never have quoted that long. I left my items anyways hoping they would get through it faster than they thought. I decided to go browse around the store I had several items I was looking for. What a disappointment. They have such a large store but compared to other locations they have nothing. I had pretty much looked at everything and was bored within five minutes and didn't find anything to purchase. I went to check on the length of time left for my items. The girl said it would still be a very long time because the other employee was leaving so she would soon be on her own. So then I decided just to take my stuff and leave and she really seem to like that idea. What a disappointment and a waste of my time. I was debating between checking out the Burnsville location or the Eden Prairie location today and I'm so upset with myself that I chose the wrong one. I will never ever again waste my time at the Burnsville once upon a Child. It's really just worth the drive to go check out a different location. I would very highly recommend skipping your trip to this once upon a Child. They clearly don't want to buy your stuff and the lack of items in their store shows that they really don't buy that much. read more

Don't shop or sell here. They purchased several of my items and paid me on a visa gift card. Meaning, instead of cash, they put the cash on a visa giftcard. When I went to use the card just a few months later AT the Once Upon A Child that gave it to me, they said it h expired! I said, " Wait. How can my cash that you paid me for my items expire?!" No one in the store helped, they said there is nothing we can do. So essentially, Once Upon A Child got all my items FOR FREE because they didn't pay me. They put an expiration date on my cash. How can Once Upon A Child dictate to a consumer when and where they can spend their CASH?! Shameful. I have to assume it's because they HOPE you don't realize there is an exp Date, then they get your items for free when they don't have to pay you. read more
